Great fish and chips. Very fast service and friendly staff. Three beers on cask which is my favorite way to have velvety brew. Many more beers on tap as well.

Wanted something fairly light for early dinner as we’ve just arrived after a trying 24 hour travel from NZ. They were busy with seemingly locals having drinks but we seemed to be the only ones eating. The staff were lovely even to giving us samples of a couple beers when it was obvious we didn’t know their on tap selection. We had scampi and fish with chips. All very nice.

This was a nice little pub! My fiancée and I stopped in for a few drinks while vacationing in London last month and they had a pretty good beer selection. The bartender was nice enough to let me try a sample of a few of the draft beers, which is not something that every place will allow. The atmosphere is very comforting and this really felt like a place that you could spend hours lounging in with a few friends. I would definitely stop in again if I’m in this part of London in the future!

Such a nice pub! Just around the corner for me with cheap prices for beer and a nice atmosphere!

Nice on the outside, this is a Greene King local pub that is unpretentious and does what it says on the tin. Inside there are a couple of tv’s, low level music and a patio area for the smokers. There is a wide and good range of drinks, that are really competitively priced, and generally there are some offers on. They do a great lunchtime offer, a deli deal which is around £6 and includes a pint and they do a great Burger and a Beer offer. Staff an eclectic mix, a friendly manager, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Nice on the outside, usual selection of Greene King beers. Great range of meal deals, price wise, quality not as good though very much a cremate in the microwave type selection, however at £6 for a burger, chips and a drink what more can you ask. Sort of friendly staff however the humour value of the manager bellowing ‘Thank You’ at the top of her voice when someone used the toilet without buying a drink completely destroyed the atmosphere, and became so annoying we left, as our conversation was destroyed, and changed the venue into some kind of vulgar ale house that Peggy Mount wouldn’t have been out of place running, rather than a nice atmosphere that we expected. Even more annoying was that it seemed to be for the benefit of the staff who she was entertaining. Positive factor cheap drink offers.

Wow, so I’m only the second review and at that, I was an American Tourist. Okay. So, I don’t know what it was before(per the other review) but we ended up meeting friends here because our first choice was booked for a holiday bash. I don’t know, I thought it was quite nice. Sure it didn’t have that classic«pub» feel to it, but the ales were decently priced, we were able to get a table for 6 although we had to stand for a bit whilst waiting, and the bathrooms were clean and not smelly. We knocked back a few pints and enjoyed watching the Student Riots around Parliament on the television(we were there on 9-Dec-10). This was a bit further of a walk from our hotel than I had thought and so we suffered a bit for that, but it was still a nice place all in all.

This is a crushing review to have to write, but the state of the grand Lucas Arms has deteriorated beyond recognition. Before the remodel, it was a wonderfully boozy old Victorian pub. Worn around all the edges — both interior and patrons. These days the old Governor Jerry is gone and it’s been Starbucks-ified and lost all its soul. The staff is still wonderful and there are a couple of old neighborhood salts at the bar, but the Lucas Arms is gone, gone, gone. Now for news you can use: Real Ale, Standard pub prices, nice staff, reasonably clean loo, pub food available, Sky on the telly, fruit machines, heated beer garden, not too far from Kings Cross station and right across from Water Rats if you want a quiet pint before a show. Can’t imagine going out of your way to visit, but if it’s in your line of sight, they do sell pints.

Not all that fantastic, but fairly middling pub. They have a bullseye machine, which is really frustrating, as he tends to throw the darts at questions that you didn’t answer. Which means you end up with a microwave, and not that holiday to Mallorca you wanted.

A traditional English pub serving beer at cheap prices. The pub is moderately busy, cosy, and relaxing except when there’s a football game. The crowd is a mix of locals, students and professionals.
