I have eaten here quite a few times as it is quick, convenient and damn well delicious! Lotus leaf is located in the food court and is rivalled by many other establishments serving fast food. I am a big fan of Chinese food and am naturally attracted to this establishment. I’ve tried a fair few dishes from the crab meat dim sum to the Kung pao chicken. The food always deliever both in satisfaction and lack of wait time.

Pricy for what you are getting. However nice food non-the-less. Decent Chinese food, certainly above London average, but a little pricy for what you get and considering you’re in a food court. Good effort though! Certainly decent portion, and love the presentation!

Bad customer service, overpriced, and you charge for to go box? :(

I have only had two items from here so can only judge these. The crab and pork dumplings had too thick an exterior and dry filling to be considered good quality dumplings, whilst the honey-glazed bbq chicken buns were pleasantly soft on the outside with an original flavour and satisfyingly meaty filling. The buns seemed freshly prepared whereas the dumplings seemed past their shelf-life. Overall, delivering a bit of a mismatch in quality but still a welcome option to have in the Westfield food court.

Traumatised from a spate of retail overload, we sought reprieve in the food court at Westfield, Stratford. Lotus Leaf looked appealing, offering Chinese street food. I had the stir fry noodles with king prawns. Service was quick, prompt and impersonal — but then what else would you expect from a shopping centre food court?! The prawns were tasty, fresh and perfectly cooked the rest was a bit stodgy and average. But then what more did we need to restore our energy levels! Can’t say much about atmosphere in a shopping centre food court. The background noise was like a roar, rather than a buzz, of activity. Energy levels restored we rejoined the chaos to carry on the onslaught of shopping.

Surprisingly good. The theme? Fresh Chinese street food. I opted for a generous portion of the roast chicken(served similar to roast duck style) which came with a giant scoop of fresh hot jasmine rice and bok choy. The chicken was moist and flavorful with crispy skin. And with all the noise and hordes of people in the mall, it was almost like you were on a street in China, except it was much cleaner. And indoors.

Ordinary British Chinese food. Nothing authentic. Shanghai Dumplings soggy and over cooked.

Amazing noodles and satay but disappointed on my second visit with the veggie dimsum :(Was stodgy and bland. The chilli oil I had on request was waaaaay too strong — in the bad burn your lips way — and I’m Indian with a chilli semi-fetish ;) Would try again though, especially considering so much of the food at Stratfield is disappointing. Indigo(next stand along) is the only must-eat according to my experience so far!!!

A great place for Chinese food in the upper foodcourt in the Westfield Stratford Mall. From the small island kitchen you can see the chefs making little dim sum dumplings and preparing everything freshly. The chicken in black bean sauce with hand pulled noodles is excellent. Visited several times and always a high standard.
