If you find yourself all the way out in Putney, this is a decent place to go out. The drinks are good, bar staff are really friendly and they do late night pizza until around 10pm. It has a pretty good atmosphere with a dance floor and a live DJ most weeks. Normally I would give it 4 stars but it drops one because of the jobsworth door staff who are too aggressive and not very polite. They are ok once they’ve let you in once but there’s no need to be so aggressive towards people who clearly haven’t done anything to deserve it.

Lost & Co is probably the busiest pub in Putney with its favourable location just across the road from Putney Station. Went on a Friday evening thinking it won’t be possible to get a table but we were lucky — once we walked in, the friendly waitress pointed in the direction of one cute little table being free. We ordered a bottle of rosé which turned out to be Portuguese Esporão and a nacho platter to share. I was a bit sceptical about pub food before ordering, but surprisingly it was really good. Nachos platter is large enough for sharing as it comes with a lot of cheese on top. Later in the evening it gets busier as the DJ starts playing his set. To conclude, it’s a nice place to go on a night out in Putney ;)

I went there for lunch(5£ any pizza, it was impossible to pass on this !) and loved the atmosphere ! There are a lot of hidden spots to sit and a big couch in front of the window. The music is not too loud(to be verified during an evening test ?) I had the Marrakech pizza(mint base, cheese, red onions and lamb) and it was lovely ! really cheesy and the crust was perfect. I’ll be back for sure.

Bouncers are a bunch of idiots — overrated — overpriced — rubbish… Never will go set foot back in the place !

Party alert! This place is known to ‘go off’ somewhat later in the evening, with the lethal cocktails leading the way. It does get busy, so be prepared, and because they do cocktails(and cocktail barmen do love to take their time and show off), service can be slow and queues long. But if you’re looking to an alternative to the Fez, this is ideal. It doesn’t take itself tooooo seriously.

Live music + a damn good whiskey selection = awesome time. Or at least it would be if it wasn’t for the thirsty hordes of post-Boat Race spectators. We had thought that getting a bit of distance from the river would provide a bit more breathing room, but Lost & Co is a such a cool place that it attracts people despite the distance. It’s a fairly large pub so on a normal day you can usually find a seat. On this day, we still managed to carve out a little area for ourselves near the bar and far away enough from the live band to avoid being deafened. I don’t understand why pubs insist on turning up the volume so that even the people at the far corner of the pub can rock out. While I’m all for everyone getting in on it, if the end result is that you need to scream yourself hoarse trying to order a drink, perhaps it’s time for a rethink. Still, volume control issues aside, I like this place. In fact, it’s probably top on my list whenever I make my way down to Putney. They have a good range of top end single malts including a full collection of Auchentoshan as well as a smoky Laphroaig 10 and a sweet Monkey Shoulder. A double of Laphroaig 10 will run you about £7.50 which is a tad pricey but reasonable for the drink. As a bit of an added bonus, the Hare & Tortoise is just down the road which has excellent Malaysian food.

Lost & Co(formerly Citizen Smith) is definitely my late night bar of choice in Putney. They serve up good cocktails and the DJ usually spins a good mix of hip hop — but generally a good mix for all tastes. It’s still part of the Lost Angel/Lost Society chain of bars — just refurbed and rebranded!
