Visited on a week night with a voucher. Great location. Service was friendly and informed, the place is a little dated as was the food unfortunately. Lots of what looked like pre made or ordered in items and most things on the menu were fried or deep fried. All tasted ok but I would not have been happy had we been paying full price. We left full but would not re visit if im honest

Little Mexican located in an ideal spot on Brick Lane. Seating is available outside for when the weather is nice and is probably s better spot for drinking rather than eating. The food was ok but nothing startling although the prices are very reasonable and if you are really hungry you could probably do a lot worse.

I have passed it 100 times, but never braved enough to venture in. It has been one too many dissapointment with Mexican food in UK. Ordered the platter to share, wings and rubs were succulent l. For main I ordered a taco, dissapointment! And I tried the peri peri chicken from my companion, just bland with too much cheese. Service, waitress had no idea what is recommended or what’s bestseller. Price– expensive for what it is.

Living in Italy I don’t have many opportunities for great mexican food so I was very excited to sample some in London. Loco Mojito is located somewhat deep in the neighborhood of Shoreditch, it’s kind of a walk from the tube, maybe 15 minutes. Which to me is no big deal because Shoreditch has some great little shops worth seeing anyway including a world-famous ukulele shop but just be aware that it’s a walk. The waitstaff here was attentive and competent if somewhat quiet. I don’t mark them off for this, it’s just an observation. Perhaps her english was not great or something. I liked all of the decorations and paintings on the wall, to me it didn’t feel 100% authentic mexican more like a copy of a copy but yeah we’re in jolly old England so I don’t expect that, I liked it anyway. They’re also playing mexican music on the radio which is very enjoyable to me. A-riba! The food was great and was brought out to us promptly. Despite the possible language barrier, she was able to keep all the stuff off my wife’s food that would make it not-vegan so if that’s a concern of yours you are covered. The waitress upon request even took a picture of us(It was our anniversary). Oh yeah there was a bar and alcohol too, my wife got a margarita. I don’t drink however so I really can’t comment on the alcohol. If you’re stateside Mexican restaurants are a peso-a-dozen but overseas it’s a different story. Loco Mojito satiated a craving I’ve had for the last three years and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes mexican food and culture. One star off because it’s not the most convenient place to get to.

Wandering down Brick Lane on a Saturday the curry houses were full and I was hungry. Mexican? yeehaw! Being an ex-Texan via California recent London transplant I am always willing to give a Mexican joint a shot. and am nearly always heartbroken and depressed afterwards. no exception here. I had a Spicy Beef Burrito. It came and was the smallest burrito I have ever seen. More like a taco than a burrito. tiny and filled with. mince beef. or ground beef as we would say in the states. The sauce wasnt great either and it was one of the dreaded fork and knife burritos. a burrito is designed to be picked up! The menu also said it came with loads of FRESHJALEPENOS! Which made me excited because I havent been able to find any anywhere. but alas. they mustve meant fresh from the can. and I got one slice. Service was okay. not exceptional and when I got my bill there was a 1.25 service charge. Being an American I am fine with tipping but no real service was provided. The joint looks quite cheesy as well. sort of what you would expect a gringo Mexican food place to look like in a college town. If you are a Mexican food purist stay FARFAR away.

A really great mexican resturant to go to if you are with a big group, they don’t mind lots of noise and take a fun and relaxed approach to service although this doesn’t mean that its slow. The restaurant has a lively vibrant atmosphere with sombreros and mexican music completing the mood. The food here is really great although you may think it’s a bit too much to pay £11 for a burrito. They also have a vast cocktail menu, all at decent prices.

Went there for lunch with hubby on Sunday. The place was empty, probably due to the fact that people prefer to grab something on the go from the dozens of food stand in the market. Nevertheless food was nice, we got a share combo and enchiladas and we were more than full. Only bad points: drinks and cocktails are too pricey !

My friend and I stopped by on a severely cold night. My face was freezing and he was starving as I was not able to decide what to eat for the previous 2 hours or so. We plopped right down and easily warmed up at our table next to the candle. We immediately ordered the shrimp kebab in their fiery bbq sauce. The shrimp was succulent, and the sauce had that kick that I had been hoping for. Forewarning: what looks to be a roasted pepper on the kebab stick is truly a lemon. Trust me, it wasn’t tasty. We followed with: Chili con carne, which came with a side of crisps and salsa. I ordered another side of refried beans. This dish was a little dry for my taste, as was the refried beans. I did love, though, the salsa salad. It was fresh and amazingly flavorful. My friend ordered the enchilada. In all honesty, I wouldn’t come back here unless it was for this enchilada — one of the best I have ever had… ever. It was huge and packed with goodness. Overall, if I was craving Mexican food, I would look elsewhere. If I was craving an enchilada, specifically, I would return. The meal totaled approximately 28.00 gbp.

As the below reviewer says, it might not be authentic but once I’d got Girls Aloud turned down so I could here my friends and the food had arrived the expierience improved. I actually just had a diet coke but my friend had one of their non-alchoholic coctails which was apparently delicous. All four of us ordered the Chicken Fajitas which I guess isn’t the most interesting and certainly most spicy thing on the menu but it was very nice! You might need to ask for some more tortillas though as they ran out quick. Overall a pretty nice, alternative-to-curry place to eat on Brick Lane.

Original and authentic? Probably not, but have no such expectations and just go for a bit of reasonable quality, fresh fast food, beers, cocktails, noise and fun — a Cowboy hat on each table. Analyse Loco Mojito too much and you are likely to be disappointed. Tuck into the generous platefuls at keen Brick Lane value prices and you should be pleased and leave feeling satisfied with your lot. You can afford to try out places like this as the investment is low and you’ll probably be in the area again before long anyway. Service is very pleasant and welcoming. Recomended.

I love the smell of a ‘1st to review’ in the morning. What better place than a South American/Cuban eatery that is as fun as it is tasty. First, the dimly lit environment lends to the potential of a romantic meal. The sombrero on my seat waiting to be worn inclined me more to thinking my meal would be fun. Ricky Martin playing on loop had me smiling from ear to ear. Who doesn’t like a bit of Ricky? The menu has a strong South American vibe, Jalapeño peppers, enchiladas, and burritos will always go down well with me, but I wanted something a little more ‘animal.’ I wanted to tear meat from bone… Ribs! Damn they were good too. The meat just slipped away as my teeth gently pulled on it. My partners meal was good too. There is a full bar we didn’t make use of, but you can revel in wine, beers, cocktails and a range of juices. Special mention to our red haired server, who was attentive, not over-bearing and friendly. I like you Loco Mojito. I will be back. Make sure there is a little Ricky waiting for me.
