Oh Lidl, you are confusing. A giant supermarket that I had never been to before. I needed two things: cider and ice. I asked and was pointed in the right direction. Ice near the freezer(which I bought four big bags) and cider near the alcohol, which was on sale and insanely cheap(a six pack cost me only a few pounds.) However, when I got up to the line, that’s when things got tricky. I paid for my stuff, my hands clearly empty(no reusable bags on my person). I asked the check-out guy for a bag and he glared at me. Turns out bags cost about 5p and now he’s going to have to ring me up again. Now I felt bad for holding up the queue but I’d never been there before and there was no sign. He could have said something to me beforehand. Still, like the good adopted Brit that I now am, I felt shame for causing a scene and delaying the queue. I apologise other Lidl shoppers. I will try not to let it happen again.
