Service was slow and food was horrible. One of the worst Mediterranean places I’ve ever been to.

I’d been meaning to try Leon out for a while but every time I’ve attempted to, the queue has been out of the door. But this time around it was absolutely throwing it down so I presumed people wouldn’t want to be queuing out in the rain — and I was once. So despite getting my jeans soaked through, I managed to actually get some food! Mind you, the speed of handing over the money to when I received my food was so quick that I have to ponder what on Earth was causing the big queue because they couldn’t have been much faster with it. I opted for the Moroccan meatballs(I’m sure I’ll work my way through all the meatball related offerings) which came with a dressing-less slaw side and quite a lot of brown rice. I wasn’t expecting it to be, but the rice was plenty nice to eat on it’s own — in fact the meatballs became a bit of an afterthought because I was enjoying everything else so much.

If you’re looking for good fresh food at a great price, then this is worth checking out. I don’t get to London as often as I like, but when I do I love trying out different places to eat every time I go. On my most recent visit, I couldn’t help but notice Leon, which has popped up in various places around the city. I discovered this particular Leon whilst searching for a quick lunch not too far from a conference I was at near Westminster Abbey. I love the food. Leon is all about«naturally fast food». I had the Eden chicken burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. The only thing that could’ve made it better was if it had been breast meat rather than dark meat. It was nicely grilled with a sauce of their own. But I found did find that the thigh meat left it a bit lacking. Also, don’t come to this particular location if it’s crowded. They can’t seem to handle a lunchtime rush. The queue was out the door, which of course is a good sign. However, the closer I got to the counter I realised that the staff were overwhelmed. Orders were being forgotten or mixed up, and there was a pretty long wait once ordered. The staff were very nice and I could tell they were working hard, but either the business didn’t have a good system for serving during a rush, or they were short staffed.

I’m in love. Love at first visit. I popped in for a mid-workday lunch because I was intrigued by their«naturally fast food» logo. Stood in line for a couple of minutes, but it went fast and I got my food almost as soon as I paid: a superfood salad for myself and a mackerel, kale, and peanut salad for a co-worker. SODELICIOUS! My co-worker was as excited as I was and said it was the best salad she’d had in her life, and I have to say that mine was the best I’d had in years(just to be more realistic because who knows what kind of salad I had 10 years ago. I don’t know why I’m suddenly trying to be reasonable with my enthusiastic description of things.) The combination of ingredients and amazing dressing in their salads is just perfect. I also loved that the amount of dressing they give you is small and the perfect amount to give everything a bit of flavor if you toss it enough without drenching and overwhelming the other ingredients. Sitting down and eating there is doable, but of course it’s super busy at weekday lunchtime, so I felt like I shouldn’t stay too long. I do recommend getting a side or dessert of some sort if you get a salad; as delicious as mine was, it was a bit small and I was still hungry afterwards, so that’s probably what I’ll do next time. I am planning on going back and trying their sweet potato felafel and at least another salad and wrap, and probably some of their sides/desserts and maybe a juice. But I just had to write a review and gush because I think I may have found my new Pret(translation: takeaway chain restaurant that I just want to keep going back to). Woohoo!
