This shop is a nice little one I found as I meandered aimlessly down Garrick Street, and I was attracted by the delightful little sign sticking out from the shop with ‘Dr Martens’ written on it. You get inside and the whole of the ground floor is female footwear. Now I’m not a sexist but I think that this is slightly counter productive, because Dr Martens is predominantly a male footwear producer. but who am I to tell them how to run their business? A little neon sign points me the direction of the shoes I would be interested in, in the basement. I go down. The place focuses mainly on trainers, or at least smart-casual footwear. The makes are delicious, the most famous ones available for guaranteed quality — K-Swiss, DC, Fred Perry etc. The staff are polite, I feel, and maybe because they didn’t hassle me when I walked in, giving me time to have a look around for myself. A nice little place.
