I was desperate to fix a bad mani that I had got in my own hometown only 5 days before. We had just had lunch at a greek place in the mall and I checked out the directory to find this place. I was disappointed that it was out in the middle of the mall, which was crazy loud and bright. They were lining customers up like cattle waiting for their brand. It is a turn and burn kind of place, but that’s ok, I was in a hurry anyway. Nails lasted the rest of my trip + a couple weeks back home.

I may update this review after my nails have been on for more than a day. But for now, I’m awarding 3 stars. Having not had false nails in a long many years, I popped into Le Monde Nails after I got engaged(!!!) as I knew my hands would be looked at a lot and the winter had caused all my natural nails to snap and split. Knowing I didn’t want acrylics, I asked about the difference between«powder gel» and«UV gel» nails. I was told powder gel were thinner, but not quite as strong. I didn’t mind. I wanted thin as I wanted something as natural-looking as possible with an artificial nail. The whole process went alright, though the shaping of the nail wasn’t quite what I asked for. I found at times that the language barrier between my nail technician and myself was a small problem. They are more square than I prefer, but overall look alright. I did discover, upon arriving home and doing some research, that«powder gel» is actually often-times thicker than«UV gel» and isn’t considered by some nail technicians to be a gel variety at all and is more related to acrylic. That being said, it didn’t remind of my 2 horrid acrylic memories of my teen years. I haven’t yet decided if I’ll return in a few weeks for a fill, or try to soak the nails off with acetone at home. We’ll see how they hold up.
