Lambeth North Tube Station

Lambeth North was the nearest tube station to my hotel that I used daily during my last trip to London. It has a very grimy and rundown feel to it, I like to call it «true» urban –meaning that it is not at all user-​friendly and very old.
This is a partial station to me. Due to the fact that it sits between two «real» stops, Lambeth North will likely be one of the last tube stations to be renovated. It definitely looks like it from what I saw at the station.
Like many older underground stations, there are no easy ways to get luggage or suitcases up the stairs (hence, NOT user-​friendly), so some strength is required if you are carrying anything of significance up from the tube.
Despite this, the station is actually in a decent location. It is near the end of the Bakerloo line, with only one stop at the end of the line after this one. Neglected as it may be, it is actually still a useful tube stop and I’m thankful that it was close to my hotel. Even if it was a bit rundown.

There are some sections with stairs only (no lifts) which is a hassle with luggages.
We had to carry the luggages by hand up the stairs. Decided to take the airport shuttle van for departure to save the hassle of carrying luggages.

Not as clean as Heathrow Express, but operated and many stops. Dificulty w using Visa need to leave it in slot for a min or so

Its the Tube Station after Waterloo on the Bakerloo line. For those in any kind of relatively fit shape, take the stairs. There are not that many– 4 sets of 17 on a spiral staircase. It’ll get you down about as fast, if not faster than waiting for the elevators.

It’s the closest station to the Imperial War Museum, only two blocks away. Automated ticket machines and Oyster readers, the station is in Zone 1.

Lambeth north station is on the bakerloo line and from it, you will reach central london in 10 minutes flat. Access to the station is not suitable for wheelchair users as there is a staircase from the life in order to access the platforms. The bakerloo line is quite a nice and reliable line, and although it can be quite busy in the mornings, it is usually possible to get a seat at the front of the train, since it is the second stop on the bakerloo line
The station staff are rude, lazy and extremely unhelpful. Last time I bought a ticket there, the lady refused to serve me. Afterwards, the same lady tried to short change and old man who promptly told her to WAKE UP.
That is he problem with the tube and London in general, there is too much dead wood in the workplace with people feeling that as long as they get to work they do not have to do anything else. And if their boss pushes them, they might break a sweat which is swiftly followed by a sicknote for stress.
TFL is subsidised by us the people and every year the ticket increase is way above inflation. Something has to be done as the tube and transport in the UK is the most expensive in the world and the most unreliable at times.
