I bumped into this place looking for another Italian restaurant. It was quiet and gives you a classic Italian style café. I was greeted very nonchalantly but the hostess was very nice. Keep in mind don’t ask for suggestions they were very much like«we have some specials & what ever you like» thanks for the help in choosing. So they weren’t to informative of their menu. The pasta was great I had the seafood linguine. But if you are really hungry don’t expect anything complimentary like the bread to start… They have great food but they lack in certain areas especially hospitality. I did like the environment the food and the classic music selection so that was enough for me to enjoy after my 11 hour flight from LA. If you are starving and in the area here’s the spot to go to. If you like pasta and want it quick… Oh almost forgot the dessert menu look amazing but I didn’t get anything but I will be back for the 3 course later this week on this trip

Food was really great value for money; two of us had pizza, drink and with added service charge it still came to under £20! Tastecard was what brought us there! Sadly the service was rude and a little lapse when the restaurant wasn’t busy on a Wednesday night!

Increíble lasagna para llenar el estómago después de un largo día de paseo por piccadilly circus y el soho londinense.

Quaint restaurant that offers great value for money, with the traditional vibe of a family run business. Great italian favourities and delicious desserts. Felt authentically italian!

Hmm… Not sure about this one. Mainly ate there, due to they accepting Taste Card & we were in the area — Portions are not very generous(unless you ask for pasta!) One positive point was that they accepted a very last minute booking which is also handy! The place was proper Italian and you would hear waiters talking Italian to each other — Not the happy bubbly waiters you would expect but food was tasty and ok — Would I come back??? Maybe yes but probably not.

La Locanda has a head start on most Italian(or indeed, any) eateries as it is literally 3ft outside our office door. It is a favourite at work when it is raining, we want to sit down, and we want delicious pizza. I have thus far tried their garlic bread(some cheesy, some tomatoey, all extremely deliciously garlicky) and the meat pizza. It was an extremely filling pizza for under £9 and tasted delicious — crispy(but not too crispy) base, generous cheese, delicious sausage and pepperoni meats. It could have used a tiny bit more tomato sauce as it got a little dry after a while, but grab some condiments and enjoy. The rest of the crew are massive fans of the seafood pizza, and I’m longing to try their four seasons on my next visit. I can’t speak for the rest of the menu; steaks and fish are a little bit expensive for a quick lunch, but the whole place smells amazing and their descriptions are mouth watering. Atmosphere is nice and cosy as you’d expect from a small Italian in the throngs of restaurants on Heddon Street, and the waiting staff were very efficient and pleasant. Good times!

We had a large group come here last night and it was a really nice little surprise. The service was good and attentive and although there were only three or four wines that were sold by the glass(many others by the bottle/half bottle), the red was really lovely and they’re generous enough to fill it all the way to the top :) Everyone I was with said they really enjoyed their meals and the portions were very generous, especially for the price. They have really great 3 course set menus also that are around £12 for one set of options ant £14 for the second set. Strada is in the area too but this is cheaper and just as good!

I really like this place. Wandered in by chance a few weeks back, place was buzzing but got seated almost straight away. Service was prompt and friendly. Food came out in next to no time. My veal cutlet was massive, and as good as I’ve had anywhere. Prices very reasonable given the location. Would definitely return.

I have really been un-lucky with restaurants this week! This place is really sweet, deco is rustic, atmosphere was great and all waiters were very friendly: we had a great service all along. And the owner was rather fun! All waiters were not speaking english very well but that was something I quite liked actually… probably because I can understand Italian a little bit. Not so good for non-speakers though. But why was the food tasteless? Everything was great otherwise…:( I had mussels as a starter & monkfish for main course — was really looking forward to this — everything was overcooked and not tasting really nice which I told the owner about. He was really apologetic I must say. I’ll probably give it another go some other time but that place was really not far from a 5 stars, until I started eating… Shame really!

What a great find just off Regent Street! On my last night in the city before heading back to the states I ambled down Regent street towards the tube station, in search of transportation and food. There is a side street that shoots off Regent(don’t know the name) that looks like an alley but is packed with restaurants. Had I walked down farther I would have seen a load more places to eat and might not have stopped here. Anyhow, their displayed menu looked nice and they had two prix fixe menus– 2 courses for 12.50 and 3 courses for 13.50. I signed up for the 3 course meal and a couple glasses of the Sangiovese. 1st course– macaroni pasta with 4 cheese sauce. This dish was steaming as it came out of the kitchen, tasty and filling– Well done! 2nd course– Veal Milanese. I think they served me the whole veal calf as this cutlet was enormous. It was prepared nicely and served with vegetables and potatoes. By the way the potatoes were the best I had in London. Just the right amount of crisp on the outside, soft on the inside and sprinkled with fresh herbs and salt 3rd course– Tiramisu. This was a small version which was just OK– probably the weak link of the meal but good enough. The service was really good. There were two ladies working the front of house– they were efficient, friendly but not fawning all over you. The older gal had an eye on the place and knew when it was time to swoop in on your table. This is a small place, maybe 15 tables, so not good for large groups but is excellent for a quiet evening with a small group or your spouse. Cheers

I’ll keep this one short and simple, and slightly mathematical Salad + no dressing = gross. Old guy next to us staring at my wife + close quarters = creepy House red + waiting for water/15 minutes = thirsty Otherwise swift service Gross salad taken away half-finished Lasagna = standard, not bad Pizza + crispy cheese = surprisingly delicious while hot, not so much the next day Soup = hot and tasty, perfect on a super cold day on Regent St. La Locanda + my wife and I + dinner = 3 stars
