Good place to go for a late night sausage after a night out. The fries are good and the staff were friendly too.

Stopped by at 1545 on a Sunday and female behind the counter said nothing was ready because she was closing in 30 minutes(sign said 5pm). Good sausage but average bun. Nathan’s and Papaya King in NYC have nothing to fear. Finally young lady was anxious to go home and discourage all the customers after me from ordering. Service is a weak ‘link’(no pun intended).

Good german sausages, great location, friendly staff, and clean kitchen — you simply can’t go wrong. We came here late night and had the smoked beef sausage and the pork and beef with herbs sausage. The smoked beef was great on its own without any dressing, the pork and beef was a bit bland and tasted much better with the curry sauce. The fries were passable. Honestly, this place could be a 4 for London standard given that the sausages are good quality and the price at 5 – 6 quid a sausage is london pricing. The issue is that there’s nothing outstanding about the food that makes me want to bump it up to a 4. To be fair, if you love good quality german sausages, then you should come here. If you’re looking for anything beyond plain old sausages, you’re outta luck.

I stopped by Kurz & Lang on my way to Farringdon station after a few work drinks, and it totally hit the spot. It doesn’t even feel like guilty junk food because the sausages are such high quality. I got a classic bratwurst in a bread roll and asked for ketchup, mustard, and then the curry sauce after I saw that they had it available. I love a good currywurst, and it is so rare to see it available in London. One thing I wish they didn’t do is drizzle the sauces onto the bread roll, because it was incredibly messy to eat(shouldn’t you just put it on the sausage part??). The menu is fairly straightforward, but they don’t always have all of the sausage options available on the grill at one time. There also didn’t seem to be any set meals — you decide to add sauerkraut or fries if you’d like. A final note: at close to £5, it’s not as cheap as a sausage on the street(Farringdon station conveniently has one stand outside right between the two sides of the station) but this is top notch sausage.

I had the 11th Generation wurst with sauerkraut and a side of potatoes. It was good but not great. Sausages are really different in London compared to US, i like Londons better. You are charged separately for everything even bread/roll.

if you love German fast food this is your place to go after a few beers around smithfields. Grab a bench outside and enjoy the views of the bustling markets. For about £10, i got 2 different sausages, potatoes and sauerkraut. One of the sausages was excellent, the other a little dry and overcooked… but for £10 i’m not going to get too fussy.

The most inept staff I’ve witnessed in probably 3 years. There were like 5 people ahead of me, and I had to wait 20 minutes to get served. They have 2 people doing the same jobs, i.e., both using the cooker, both accepting money, both cleaning up, etc. I’m no efficiency expert, but I’m certain division of labour is a key concept in running a fast food establishment. Anyhow — I ordered the rindwurst(smoked beef) which was a very good sausage, but cooked poorly. The casing had turned tough from sitting on the grill(or something) so instead of the expected snap I was having the really chew off my bites. The bun they served it on was a cheap baguette, neither authentically German, nor a nice piece of bread in any way. Good mustards, German ketchup(or at least their favoured brand) was really really disgusting and sticky(it got all over my hands).

Kurz & Lang is a small takeaway kiosk selling german sausages. The currywurst is average topped with Hela ketchup and a littlebit of curry. With a few potatos this is GBP5.80, — which is still ok for London. The sausages and the potatos we had were cold. So I can only recommend this place as average and not even close to places where you would get a really good german sausages like at the Curry36 in Berlin or at the Moe-Grill in Hamburg

First of all, this place is open until 6 am. Wow. Second of all, they serve a good variety of German sausages. And they actually do a good job of it. I’ve eaten a lot of German sausage in my life. Some were great, and some were completely forgettable. And I will vouch for this place. It is tasty.

OMG cheesy dog. OMG I am in HEAVEN. Didn’t like the sauerkraut or the potatoes though, so next time I will have my heavenly cheesy dog with a chunk of french bread. (not saying the sauerkraut was bad, I just didn’t like it. but the potato wasn’t so good). Now I am going to dream about cheesy dogs tonight.

Unique concept of traditional German sausage and sauerkraut, and geared towards City workers looking for a quick lunch to take back to their desk. Not much seating space inside. Plus, you probably don’t want to seat inside, as the smell and smoke of the sausages being grilled in-store will make you smell like bratwurst all afternoon! Pricewise, its a bit pricey at £7 for what is a fancy sausage, a small baguette, some pickled vegetables, and cubes of potatoes. But if you’re looking for something different from the standard Pret & Eat sandwiches, this is good. Tastewise it was decent the cheese bratwurst was quite interesting. Sauerkraut was ok, as was the fried potato cubes. Nothing really special. Do get a TasteCard if you can they offer buy one get one free! The London Insider

Well I haven’t seen many bratwurst places knocking about in London, have you? The good old german sausage served with saurkraut. This is what they clearly do very well. I had the beef one(not eating pork unless it’s british any more — right on) and a portion of the sour cabbage and it was very tasty. Had it in a roll with all the toppings. About a fiver. Very fair. I’ll be going back before I head out to King’s Cross. Lots of good leafleting and boards explaining the concept and what you might want t order. Very nice if you’re looking for something quick that isn’t a sandwich.

Do you happen to be in Clerkenwell and are in the mood for German style sausages… well then look no further than Kurz & lang. It’s the perfect escape from the sandwich monotony of EAT and Pret. Great selection of sauages, most come with sauerkraut and potatoes. It’s a tiny place, only seating is outside or on the counters, however, they will pack up your sausages to go! Note if you opt for the Sausage and Pretzel, it comes with a Pretzel in lieu of a bun for your sausage but that pretzel is oh so good.

This is a great little place to have some Wurst & Sauerkraut especially after(or if you are in one of the bars in the local area, during) some beers. On a Friday and Saturday it’s open 24hrs which is handy if you have a few too many and you need something to settle things down a bit before going home. I think it is a little pricey however, that said, I’d rather eat here than from one of those street urchins that pop up just as you roll out the pub, you know what I’m talking about, can you smell the onions? Hmmm!

I guess you call this a German fast food place. 6 pounds gets you a sausage of your choice with potatoe cubes, sauerkraut and some bread. I suppose you could see this as expensive if you usually get a sandwich for lunch, but I actually think the price is very reasonable given that you can eat in, if there is space and also given that what they are serving is not something you can find in that many places. I was certainly filled up by the serving, which doesn’t happen when I just have a sandwich. And it tastes great. I had the curry wurst and it tasted like ones I had in Berlin. I added some great mustard(I used to hate mustard until I had the German stuff). Best lunch I’ve had in an age. I plan to go back and try some of the other sausages too. The staff were very friendly(and Germanic as you would expect).

If I was going to be a sausage, I’d want to be one from here. I mean, the whole place is dedicated to the joys of meat — in a sausage format. Oh how my Jewish Grandmother would weep. I will admit now, apart from a slightly horrifically hungover experience in The Bavarian Beer House, my knowledge of German/Bavarian food is limited. With a hunger in me like Hungry Hans(only German name I could think of right now), I went in here with my stomach grumbling. I’m really open to new food and ordered what was recommended; smoked sausage, hot pickled cabbage with bacon and potatoes. Talk about filling! Half way through my mighty meaty meal I started to struggle. It’s a bit of a weird lay out here. I like that they have high chairs and benches that you can dine alone at, I don’t like the fact that it’s hard to sit in groups. Come winter though, this is going to be a top winter warmer spot for me. I mean, what can get you hotter than shoving a hot sausage in you?
