Ribs, ribs, ribs! I always go there for their ribs, I recommend the place for their ribs and I even dream about the ribs. And boy, what a portion it is! Don’t even think of getting the whole rack, the half rack will more than fill you up. The burger is succulent, the meat is fresh. The sweet potato fries will delight on more than one count. I have also had the oxtail stew with the braised red cabbage and the ultra delicious pork belly. The latter comes with pea mash and blackpudding fritters and it is just the best combination ever. The calamari and the wings are great starters. The wings are spicy and fresh, like the ribs. It’s a good idea to be cautious while ordering starters though, because the mains are large portions. The place has a good selection of beers, well served and well priced. I never have any room left for dessert, so nothing to say there. The service is quick and friendly. You get seated promptly if there is space. The restaurant, although on Tooley Street, is fairly quiet and good for conversational dinner. Very clean, with a relaxing feel, Kings Arms is almost definitely my gastropub of choice in the area.

The only reason I found myself in this pub was because it was close to work and my normal pub was closed. I’m not in a massive hurry to repeat the visits. The beer selection wasn’t great and I found it to be fairly expensive, even considering the location. The view is only back out onto Tooley St and you shouldn’t be paying a premium for that. The food was uninspiring and it was tricky to find anywhere to sit/stand due to the amount of areas reserved. Service wasn’t too bad and they run promotions during the week so you could get lucky with your visit

Wasn’t too sure about this place from the outside but once in the interior was very rustic and the atmosphere warm and relaxing, I felt at home. Price of drinks was ok, but our bar tender maybe was new as he was quite slow, would definitely go again as its right near my office and out of sight from most tourist types.

This pub is fine if you want a drink but really would not recommend eating here, the food was well below average and not particularly cheap. The staff were well mannered but lacked order, so waits at the bar were unnecessarily long. The general look was laid back and cosy, but it was also quite loud, which may have been more conducive if it had been the evening, rather than Sunday afternoon. There was plenty of places to sit, as its off the main drag.

Another Qype find, we popped in one Saturday evening for a quick pre-sunset tipple. A great atmosphere in here, with people happily chomping away on what looked like tasty food. Great décor and friendly staff, too. But perhaps the telly could have been turned down a bit as no one was watching it.

In Bermondsey, £10 will buy you: Four drinks and a packet of crisps at a Sam Smith’s pub Two Monmouth coffees and two St John’s Bakery donuts Lunch at a trendy Bermondsey High Street dining establishment OR Two warm pints of draught Blue Moon, without the requisite orange slice garnishes, that taste vaguely of sick at this pub. Yeah. It was bad. I only finished half of my pint before I admitted defeat, and Blue Moon used to be one of my favourite American beers to drink on a warm day. The King’s Arms was strangely dark inside despite having enormous windows running the entire length of the south– and east-facing façade. The interior looked a bit battered and beaten, although I can’t be sure if this was a purposeful aesthetic. The big chairs were pretty comfortable, and the downbeat covers of contemporary pop songs playing during my visit made me smile, which is the only reason I’m giving the King’s Arms an extra star. I might give it another try if I’m in the area in the future, but I wouldn’t go out of my way and I certainly wouldn’t order the Blue Moon again.

This is a pretty good pub, came here for a few beers on Thursday night and once I was in there remembered that I’d been there for lunch and beers months ago. Its friendly and relaxed inside, plays good music, ands there’s lots of seats which are well spaced out. From what I remember, the food’s good too — I think I had chicken wings, extra spicy.

90% Shad Thames 10% Bermondsey. The Kings Arms scores low on the real beer and high on the bohemian-gastro-pub board. Defintely worth a visit if you are hungry and in this neighborhood.

Absolutely amazing pub. Great food, lovely staff, proper quirky décor that works so well without you ever understanding why. I can honestly say that this is my favourite pub in all of London.

The King’s Arms of Tooley Street is located only a short walk from London Bridge tube station but rests just out of reach of the busier tourist spots of this area. The very definition of cosy, this pub has bags of character with lots of dark wood, comfy seating and quirky knick-knacks. The outdoor seating makes it a great spot for a summers day. Due to its location this pub is predominantly frequented by locals which adds to the character and creates a warm and familiar vibe. The staff are very friendly and attnetive engaging you in conersation whenever possible. The food here is tailored to the tradtional quality of the venue serving up staple English favourites. Sadly the prices are a little steep for what is on offer and there are other places wher you will be able to get more for your money. In terms of drinks they stock a decent selection of wines, ciders and lager though these too err on the pricey side. A really nice little venue spoilt only by the rather over-priced offerings.

The Kings Arms is a great little pub and its décor is definitely what makes it so special. With ruby red sofas, rustic looking tables and chairs and each table decorated by candles, it is a cosy place to go on a winter night. The price of alcohol is relatively average for a London pub and the food is also great with a selection of typically English dished such as bangers and mash. I would recommend going on a Monday night as they have a quiz night which is always fun with a good cash prize! On a Friday and Saturday night there is also regular live music and the staff also hold seasonal themes events. A great place to go for a date perhaps.

This is one of the best pubs in London. They’ve had a substantial refurbishment since the photo was taken and the décor is now a lovely mix of different styles without being overpowering or too trendy. The food is lovely and the service is excellent. This is a real gem of a place, with a decent wine list, a nice selection of the usual draught lagers and you can even play board games! Highly recommended.
