Came here with a few friends after having a craft cocktail down the street. There was a quick five minute wait, so one friend rushed to grab us a bottle of wine and we were sat in the back of the restaurant. We had a great spot in the very back downstairs next to a fan where we could stay cool and enjoy the interesting assortment of furniture spread around the space. We had an order of delicious spring rolls and each ordered a different main. I had my very favorite ‘panang curry’ that I could smell right when we walked in. My other two partners in crime ordered a peppered beef dish with rice and ‘pad see ew’ with noodles. Everyone was happy and the portions seemed to leave everyone a little full but not over stuffed. Being able to bring in your own drinks made it a great meal for a very reasonable price. The service was great and people were friendly until the moment we left. I would be sure to head back here if I had a craving for thai!

It’s normally a good sign when a restaurant is busy, but I wasn’t blown away by Kaosarn. Fairly standard menu, cooked nicely enough but with no real wow factor. BYOB was probably why they had as many customers as they did. Portion sizes were pretty good, but I wasn’t convinced.

Great food and great value, always packed out with customers so have been unable to get a table sometimes. BYOB definitely recommend!

Great authentic menu and have not been disappointed ever with the generous servings. Always crowded so make sure you make a booking or order take away. BYOB is great and prices are very affordable. Enjoy

amazing thai food! I went on a Saturday night and it was crowded! nice interior, I love the lanterns. I had Papaya Salad which was perfect and very spicy! you can tell a good place by their papaya salad! I also had Panang Gai which is the chicken n the red curry sauce and coconut milk which was fab! I also had the Kao Pad Kra Praw which is the beef spicy stir fry, it was just ok. a bit on the too spicy side. this place is close to my flat and has normal priced thai food. I will def be going back

Came for lunch on a cold rainy day. Welcome was warm and service precise. Room is cleanly designed and modern. Food was great and we will definitely return.

Just opened, Kaosarn is a welcome addition to the St John’s Hill restaurant scene. Literally 20 metres from our flat, it would have been rude not to pop in and give it a whirl. We booked a table at 9pm but still had to wait for 5 minutes or so to be seated on arrival. However, this initial frustration melted away with the warmth of the welcome we received and as the food came flooding out from the kitchen. The stand out dish was probably the marinated half chicken served with sticky rice and a papaya and peanut salad. The chicken was flavoursome and tender and combined wonderfully with the papaya. However it was not just the chicken which was good — everything was tasty. Kaosarn is BYO(for the moment at least) which means that the booze side of the equation is entirely in your own hands. It also serves to keep the cost down. Put all that together and you have a combination which I suspect will be giving some of the areas restaurateurs sleepless nights.
