Amazing, intimate experience lead by a talented and friendly head chef, a sommelier sous chef and a sensational owner: Jen. Our pasta cooking was fun and tasty! A big thank you!

I went to a class for Mediterranean street Food and it was awesome! :) It obviously depends on the numbers for your course, but for me it was just 2 of us taking the class. Andrew was a really lovely and enthusiastic professional chef who was teaching the course, and he brought a lot of his tips from the kitchen into the class. All my questions were answered and I came out armed with new skills. Even though he said he had no professional teaching experience, his dedication to his work shows and he is such a natural teacher.

So having been so inspired by my butchery course, I felt I just had to take my mum who loves cooking and is a brilliant chef to experience this place. We were both blown away. Luke is a natural teacher who is so dedicated to his profession, it really shows. It was my mum’s birthday so I signed us up for the sausage making course as a treat. So my mum was running an HOUR late for the course. She doesn’t live in London, got all confused and swept up in Arsenal fans. As we were the only ones on the course this time, they waited patiently. And I mean SO patiently I was really touched. They offered me strawberry mousse, a drink, chatted and generally were so so nice about it all. My mum finally arrived and they had a beer out ready to calm her down and told her to take her time. We finally got started 1h30 mins late for a 2hr course and they wouldn’t even hear of us doing a shorter lesson. The course itself was sooooo interesting. I learnt loads and loads of tips about how to cook sausages, make sausages, what equipment to get, why it’s so much cheaper etc. I came away with a new found respect for the sausage and about 4kilos of suasages between us. I now have a year’s supply in my freezer. They sent us the recipes to make them afterwards and lots of tips on how to cook all the stuff we’d made. My mum is now buying a sausage maker and talking about all the sausages she’s going to make. My BF is now taking his friends on it. In the end they stayed 2hrs after our course was supposed to end just because they’re so dedicated to making it a good experience: THAT’S customer service! Jen who runs the company and Luke who taught this course were total darlings and I would recommend their lessons to anyone with a slight inclination to cooking.

I attended a coffee masterclass at Jenius Social. I’ve been to a couple of coffee classes elsewhere and Jenius was by far the best. We went through different processing methods and tasted coffee beans from processed using different methods and from different regions. This really highlighted the different tastes from different beans. We then brewed using a few of the popular methods including aeropress, french press and chemex. This really highlighted the impact each method has on the taste. All in all well worth it.

I went for a cookery class with my partner. We have always wanted to try a class together but we were always a little intimidated that it would be full of people who were much better than us and that we would fall behind. I’m glad we went for it. This class was informal and so much fun. The chef showed us how to make two dishes that looked like they came directly from a good magazine. The first dish we prepared was a duck breast with orange jelly, a micro salad and some fusion oils. The second dish — a poached sea bass on a crab salad. Once the demonstration was over we were split into teams and we started cooking. Chef kept a close eye on us and was around incase we needed any help :) We were in a team with another couple and whilst we meticulously prepared the dishes we also really enjoyed the banter we shared with them. I still think our sea bass was better than theirs ;) What I really liked was that after we all cooked, we got to sit with everyone from the class and eat together. I was impressed that I was able to produce such yummy and good looking dishes :) I had a really good time and would definitely look to go back especially if there were any classes focusing in desserts.
