Good shake for cheap price, I had a munchies shake which was good. I mean it’s probably not hard to mess up a chocolate bar shake, ice cream, milk, chocolate bar and blender done. But this little independent place is a nice little find down that section of Holloway Road. Worth popping in with a friend if you’re walking past. Could do with a little revamping though, looking at people’s pics from when it opened the ishake branded t shirt is still hanging on the wall and starting to collect dust.

To be fair, I’m basing this review on a waffle, not a shake. But the waffle was pretty inedible — it tasted exactly like the prepackaged kind you buy at the grocery store, only older and staler. :-/They had run out of strawberries so I got bananas sliced on mine. Oh, well. At least the banana was fresh. As for the service, I walked in and there was a woman standing behind the counter, at the register, with her head down looking at her cell phone. She mumbled a few times but I assumed she hadn’t seen me. Finally she mumbled louder, and I got that she was talking to me. Eventually I figured out she was trying to take my order, but it would have been nice if she’d stopped playing with her phone.

I stumbled into this awesome little place, after struggling to find somewhere nice to eat, I hist iShake, I think it was the look of the shop and the name caught me. It looked newish, but it was empty(apart from the man working there). I asked for a chicken, bacon, lettuce and cheese I think it was, he was in the process of making it when I decided«Hmm, I think I will go with the first time for everything, and try myself a shake.» Yes, shoot me, I never had a milkshake before now. I got the Naughty Naughty, Ingredients I cannot remember, but DAMN! this place is amazing, worth a try if you are in this area. It is hard to miss, as it’s right on the cornet and you wouldn’t notice it unless you looked at the shop. Go on, try it, shaken not stirred!

You want a milkshake made out of chocolate bars, this is your place. Oddly quiet, though.

Delish! There is something happening to the world of convenient beverages. Across London and Ireland I have noticed the decline of the smoothy and the rise of the milkshake. At first I hated it… Ive changed my tune now. The menu is initially confusing but maybe I was just hot and flustered with the day that was in it. You can put any chocolate bar or fruit in the shake… So I opted with a crunchie. Awesome choice. My companion went with a scoop of raspberry sorbet. Also awesome. I highly recommend this as a lunchtime treat. So cold and silky. Milkshakes are SO in right now.

When this opened I wasn’t sure how long it would be around… Mid Holloway Road doesn’t seem the ideal location for a late night milkshake bar… Thankfully though there seems to be a lot more people paying a visit recently… which is good because they make some fine milkshakes! I’ve only tried two shakes so far but the menu looks pretty good for return visits

At first glance, the menu seems to be lacking. However, the items that iShake does have, are of the utmost quality. One can get a variety of food, from hot dogs, to nachos to American muffins, but this place definitely revolves around the milkshakes. If you want something that is not on the menu, you can create your own, as well. I’ve been here twice now, and a problem has arisen. The first time I went, we ordered nachos(now before you start saying«you Americans should know not to order nachos in London» or something, I was aware of that, but went for it anyways) and they were not too far from what one would get at home — chips with real nacho cheese for dipping and whatnot. The second time we went, however, it was nothing more than crisps with(what seemed like) tesco cheddar slices microwaved and melted on top. The shakes were still boss, though.

This place is incorrectly listed as a hot-dog restaurant, however it’s really about the milkshakes(as the name would suggest) . iShake is a real surprise for the low-key neighborhood of Holloway Road. I partiuclarly love the retro-Americana style décor. What you cannot see is that there’s also free wifi and power-points below most of the tables. Since it’s open late this place is popular amongst the students wishing to keep their sugar-levels high during that late night rush to finish off the dissertation.

Couldn’t agree more with Alex, this place rocks and I’m so glad it opened around here! The first few weeks the quality was a bit hit and miss, but now there’s a good consistency in quality. Much better than the milkshake place at the N1 centre in Islington, plus they have american-style diner booths to sit at and a huge screen telly. Only thing I can fault here is that there’s no AC inside the shop, which means that on a hot day, it can get hotter inside, and the limited booths available means that during popular times(its usually crowded when I go), you might have to wait for a table or just order a take-away. Wish more peeps will visit it and the shops in the surrounding area, so we get more quality places around here! Review by The London Insider

iShake makes a bad ass milkshake, this cannot be denied. The décor is particularly chic for Lower Holloway, and sitting in there is quite a nice experience. The menu is a little bizarre, with lots of intriguing shake and smoothie flavours that use, Oreo’s, bueno’s and peanut butter, whilst something like a bog standard banana milkshake isn’t present. I am sure if I’d asked, the attendant would of made me a simple shake. Instead of going simple I went for something on menu called Temptation. It was crammed with strawberries, a Milkyway and topped of with whipped cream and strawberry sauce — delish! I also went for a ham and cheese panini, that on trying it had all the taste and excitement of a wet cardboard box. It wasn’t great. Food is an afterthought here, but if you want some fruity or chocolatey drink goodness, iShake is the A-bomb.
