Small bustling restaurant that does amazing Italian. The décor is nothing fancy, but the restaurant has a lot of charm. Came here on a Sunday evening with friends. Would definitely recommend a booking since the place is small. But don’t let the small interior fool you, the food portions are large. Everything from their pizzas to pastas was well done and enough to take away for a late night snack. Favs on the table that night were the gnocchi quattro formaggio and pollo cacciatora. If this rating was solely based on the food it would definitely be five stars. Minus one star is for our first waiter that gave my friend a dirty look when she asked for parmesian cheese on her cacciatora. Ya, our whole table saw it– rude. Anyways, maybe it was the end of his shift or whatever. Second waiter was much nicer.

Ughhhh the food here is extremely good and it’s freshly prepared every time.
The portions are huge and even when I’m the hungriest, I find it hard to finish my plate.
This restaurant is always overcrowded but that usually is a good sign for quality food yaaaay. I would recommend booking a table in advance so you don’t have to wait before filling your tummy.
The staff is super friendly, but you’ll be coming for the food of course.
Pizza and pasta people will loooove it here.

This place is incredible. If you’ve ever had real (not Olive Garden) Italian food this place is for you. The smell alone will make you salivate. I had the gazpacho, bruschetta and crabmeat ravioli and they were absolutely perfect

Yum! I never really go out for Italian food, so Il Bordello was a big treat!
This place was totally packed full of people! It was a good thing we had a booking for the Friday night. My boyfriend and I wanted to try something new and we heard from friends that this place was a great little place in Wapping. We were not disappointed!
It seems that the big speciality dishes here is the fish! Which I wish I ordered! I ordered calamari instead as I was in the mood. The food was hot, fresh and flavourful. I had food envy of those all around us! We saw lamb shoulder dishes leaving the kitchen that looked like it was going to fall off the bone. And the couple sitting next to is ordered pizzas covered in bright toppings.
I would suggest to really look at the full menu and speciality menu, as well as your neighbours to make a decision! There is a lot to choose from! However, don’t fret as all of it is amazing!

Excellent. Just excellent, best Italian restaurant I’ve found in London, by far. Not expensive (seafood is quite expensive but everything else isn’t — pizzas between 10 and 14£, most main courses been 10 and 20). Grilled calamaris are unbelievable, lasagnas as well. I go to this place at least once a month, and I’m using them for pizzas takeaway as well.
Also, good selection of wine (several good bottles under £20, the champagne at £36 is very good as well).
Can’t recommend Il Bordello enough! I recommend to book to avoid disappointment though.

This is my favorite restaurant in London. It is off the beaten tourist track and serves amazing food. I flew in early from Houston, TX for a business meeting just to eat here!

If I could go 6 stars, I would. If it’s not my new favourite restaurant in London, it is certainly my favourite Italian. And basically for one reason, the food.
It’s in a sort of out of the way spot, as much as that is possible in the heart of London. A friend who has been going there for 15 years took me otherwise I wouldn’t have ever seen it. I am thankful he did!
It’s a basic décor, charming simple I will call it. The service was exceptional. They were all proper professional waiters that had worked there for years; it seemed a real family owned type place, which I believe it is.
What is clear is that they really care about the menu and the wine. We started with a caprese salad and smoked salmon stuffed with mashed avocados, which were plentiful and amazingly good. I need to emphasise that you should bring an appetite. The portions are large.
Then I had a spaghetti and meatball. I wanted to keep it basic to see what they could do with it but their menu is anything but basic. Anyway, the pasta was perfectly cooked, to the second, and the meatballs were huge and packed with flavour.
I can’t believe that we got dessert but my friend insisted and I discovered why. The profiteroles and tiramisu were the best I have had. Light and not to sweet but still decadent.
What more can I say? If this hasn’t convinced you, I have failed this great restaurant. Bravo!

I have been going here for 10 years some of the waiters are still the same. The menu is classic with some specials on top. You will hear at least 3 birthday celebrations whole you are there so its lively but also good for dates. Food is well priced you could easily share a pizza and salad between two as portions are huge. Has not let me down yet and been about 30 times easily.

Without a doubt the worst Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at. The service was not only poor, it was rude. Water glasses were never refilled, when my wife asked for water, her glass was filled, but mine remained empty. I ordered Calamari, and asked the waiter if I could have a small bowl of Tomato sauce to use for dipping, I was told No… I could have Mayonnaise if I wanted, I’m Italian, I’ve never, ever even heard of that. My wife ordered the Salmon, it contained many small and several large bones. Sometimes a bone or two slips by, but this was over the top lack of attention. I saw the table next to ours ask the waiter for some bread, the reply was, bread is not free. The waiter was totally rude to them. The couple asked for the check, paid it and left, leaving their food half eaten. They were clearly upset. I should have left as soon as I was told no sauce for Calamari. I would never return after seeing how they provide service. And the food rates one star at best

It’s not often you see such cheerful and attentive waiting staff. Furthermore, they were all men over 50 years old.
Lovely old fashioned Italian food. Not too pricey. Large portion. Great atmosphere because of the cheerful waiting staffs.
I have been here 4 times now and will be back again soon.

This place was highly recommended by a local guy we met at the nearby Captain Kidd pub. We weren’t sure what to expect, but we came hungry and were overwhelmed by the entire experience. Food: delicious. Best tiramisu ever. Service: authentic. We felt lucky to have discovered this gem.

Good old fashioned Italian food. The tables for two are so close together that I actually joined someone else’s date last week! The waiters are lovely and the portions are huge. The food is delicious — no matter what we order, it ends up being really tasty, full of garlic and oh so filling. I have never actually finished a whole plateful there!
The manager is a bit surly, but you simply have to laugh when he stares at you blankly. (hence one star lost)

We came here for our work team Christmas dinner and it was a very good setting for this. There were about 30 of us and we were very well looked after. The service was friendly and attentive and we didn’t have long to wait in between our courses.
The food was good and filling, but not what you would call fine dining. I had a medium-​cooked steak with mushroom sauce and it came with generous sides of roast potatoes and veges.
It was a loud atmosphere, but felt appropriate for the restaurant.
I wouldn’t recommend for a dinner for two, but it was good for our team dinner.
