Stopped in for an afternoon tea and fell in love! The scones, clotted cream and jam were heavenly. Had the marmalade Bellini which was a perfect level of sweetness. If I lived here, this would be my place of choice.

After the previous night’s bar crawl, we’d gotten up too late for breakfast or brunch so we decided for lunch near St. Paul’s where we’d been sightseeing. A stone’s throw away is Hush. It was inviting from the outside, large windows, airy and spacious. On entering, we were seated by a very cordial host. Our server was attentive and proficient, and gave us time to mull about the menu. We started off with Chardonnay & Peach spritzers, delicious, refreshing, and a generous amount. I started with the gruyère mac & cheese with bacon bits which was very good, creamy and not stingy with the bacon. Others at the table had sides of Aspen fries(fries tossed in parmesan & truffle oil) and Courgette(zucchini) fries with herb mayonnaise, both very delicious and distinctive in my culinary experience. Entrees ordered were the crispy duck salad(generous portion brimming with duck), and the blackened half chicken, made zesty with piri piri rub and chipotle mayo. I had the St. Paul’s burger, an excellent hamburger with truffled gruyère and served on a fluffy brioche bun. On the side was madeira sauce. Not sure of what its comprised of, but it complemented the sandwich well. This burger is just as good as any gourmet burger I’ve had in the USA. By the time we were done it was 2:30PM, tea time! Again, our server did not make us feel rushed. We had a pot of Earl Grey, and a pot of chamomile. We were too stuffed for scones! I also wanted to remark about the restrooms(toilets, loo, etc.) They were remarkably clean and beautifully tiled, and had audiobooks that sounded like Sir Ian McKellan reading them piped in on the speakers. What a nice touch. Later, sightseeing about the city, I noticed more Hush Brassieres around town. Again, I was surprised to learn that a restaurant I dined at in London was part of a chain. I can’t speak for the others Hush locales, but Hush St. Paul’s was an excellent dining experience for me and my family!

Friend and I went here for afternoon tea on a Tuesday. We made a reservation online beforehand, and when we arrived our table was set and ready for us. The scones were warm(unlike at the Ritz, where they’re served cold) and the tea was delicious. The bread on the finger sandwiches was a little stale. We went at 6pm, so it was probably cut earlier and we got some leftovers rather than made fresh. Other than that, it was great. Service was perfect — they didn’t come by every 2 minutes to check on us and let us enjoy our conversation, but were available when we needed anything. For just 13 pounds, the tea experience was exceptional — rivaled the Ritz, where the tea experience cost much more, but was just about the same.

The hash brasserie has opened again and we tried the breakfast… Looks like michelin star kitchen, tastes like the cook is still an apprentice with bad recipes. Dry french toast, dry pancakes and tea comes from twinings. Service is kind but didn’t show up again for at least an hour to refill our drinks. Sorry, we’re not coming again.

Nice restaurant. Staff friendly, décor nice, clean and food nice. I went in my lunch break and the service was quick and staff helpful. I would visit again.

Service is not organised and slow, staff is ok, not friendly. No one check on us once our food was served. Food is average Do NOT take the lobster roll, huge bread and very small portion of lobster(for £20, I expect more). Basically, I will not come back!

I hate feeling like I’ve wasted my time — and that’s exactly what happened over lunch today. The venue itself is quite nice, nicely decorated, and the menu is quite appetising. However… — The service was really slow and very cold. Not a smile, not an effort, nothing. — The food was an utter dissapointment. Went for a lobster roll(£20) that was 90% brioche, fries, 3 leaves of salad and over-oily mayonnaise. — £4 Peach Ice tea that was 80% ice, and 20% tea. Will definitely not recommend going there — spend your time and money to some of the nicer places around St-Paul’s.

Brunch was nothing special… my friend had the pancakes with a couple of americanos, I had a basket of(3) pastries with a latte, and we shared a fruit bowl… came to around £26 which included a 10% discount for delays with bringing our food out… meh

I stopped in for high tea(£6.95) twice this week. Two thick scones are served with plenty of butter and delicious jams(strawberry and marmalade). I chose the Earl Grey tea. Everything was refreshing and the service was good.

Came here with a friend after a Unilocal event because a) it was right in front of us, b) it was already 10.15pm, and c) after drinking our own body weight in cava we were both in dire need of some food. A sigh of relief then as the guy manning the fairly deserted bar area at the front told us the kitchen was serving until 10.30pm. Hurrah! My hangover might not be so bad after all! Another waiter then welcomed us to a table without batting an eyelid at what time it was. With food our sole focus, it wasn’t until we’d ordered that I took in the place properly — décor is sleek, lots of black and silver, with most of the tables(including ours) being cosy semi-circular mini booths. Having the waiters in white shirts and bow ties also gave it an extra swishness. All went some way to justifying the £13−17 main course price tags I suppose. Fairly straightforward selection of British/European choices on the menu, though my veggie friend had a choice of pasta, pasta or pasta from the mains. He went for the onion and blue cheese tart from the starters instead which he said was quite rich, with a side of Aspen fries which I think I stole most of(cooked in parmesan and truffley yumminess, they just smelled so good!). I actually went for the pasta — a pretty simple dish of taglierini with tomato and chilli, but tasty and what I needed(and also taught me what taglierini was). All round A-OK visit so far — until we decided to order whiskies after food. That was when the service really made the meal for me; our waiter made a few helpful comments as we chose, then once he realised that we knew a bit about whisky already, we ended up having a good chat about it. He said something about how important it was to keep an open mind about trying new things and new tastes, as it can open up a whole new world of appreciation, that rang true for me. Ok it sounds a little corny thinking back to it, but it was friendly and knowledgeable and left me with a nice warm fuzzy feeling(yeah I’m 90% sure that wasn’t just the booze!). They let us sit there chatting and sipping whisky well past when everyone else had left, and we stood up to see another guy actually mopping the floor at the back when we finally left. It was nice not to feel rushed at any time though, and the service bumps it up to a 4th star for me. A fine place to stop if you’re in the area, though not the cheapest or most exciting food so I can imagine wandering in there the next time I have a fuzzy head again!

Food is not bad. but the waiter was so overbearing when I asked about food(I didn’t know ingredients). He said like this…”Animal !!‘ I was disgusted.

I loved my salmon fishcake but I really wish there was more. It was a lonely tiny fishcake on top of a bit of spinach in the middle of a huge plate. Yes it was delicious, but for £13 I expected more regarding quantity… Double, actually! It looked like a starter. I also had a Mars Bar cheesecake for dessert, which was lovely. Avoid the honeycomb ice cream though, unless you don’t mind your teeth being ultra sticky. Overall it was a nice dinner; the staff is friendly and the food was good(this was almost a four star review). I’ll go back.

Quick glance: + great burgers + friendly, attentive service + comfy, spacious venue — on the pricey side Not the cheapest option around — burger and chips with an iced tea was roughly £20 after tips, but the burger was one of the best I’ve had. There’s ample space in the venue so you can catch up with friends or conduct business without the feeling that someone will eavesdrop everything you say.

Great afternoon tea place in the St Paul’s Cathedral area. We were looking for a place for tea and asked the«i» Information booth nearby and they suggested a few places including this location. They offer a nice tea service for a reasonable price. You can get tea + scones/jam/cream for less than 10gbp or you can opt for the«high tea» with the finger sandwiches, scones/jam/cream, and little cookies for 12.95gbp. The service isn’t super fancy, so you can wear whatever you want, and you don’t need reservations. But the service and food were good, and they offer free WiFi(bonus).

Do not be fooled by the location in heavily touristy St. Paul’s Cathedral area, this place is legit. Opened just a few weeks ago, Hush has three things going for it. 1) A big dining area with really quality food and not unreasonable prices. 2) The bar is fantastic, great mix of cocktails from the guys that made Hush Mayfair so darn popular. 3) It isn’t a tourist trap in the way GBK, Pizza Express or others in the area are. This is just a great place to get some drinks and food in the area.
