What I like best about this shop is the colourful display they always have at the front of the shop! It is full of fruit and vegetables and always catches my eye! The value for money is good. The vegetables are always excellent and they have a good selection of products: 4 or 5 types of potatoes, cauliflowers, green beans, chillies, peppes… And lots of other staff I have never seen in my life! The fruit is not that good. It looks pretty but it is not as tasty as the veggies. But the thing I like the most is the great selection they have of international products. They stock a lot of Eastern European food(especially Poland) and also Asian staff, like shitake mushrooms and different varieties of noodles!

Great selection and so so cheap — the staff are lovley and really take care over the quality. Great for cheap dried stuff like Rice and Lentils too. Love the Pumpkins. Globe Artichokes are cheap as is Asparagus, Jerusalem Artichokes and Bags of Garlic. I agree the veg is better than the fruit — the figs are always a bit tired.

I’m having growing pains associated with being pulled from the veggie heaven that is California. I’ve been trying out the local fruit and veg stands in Shoreditch trying to find one which has good-tasting ripe produce at reasonable prices and doesn’t have to be pretty. I’d just like produce that has some flavour. This shop has a very pretty display out the front with the current crop of berries dazzling the eyes and making your mouth water. But the strawberries were lacking flavour, the mangoes are hit or miss(I have had a couple of good alphonso’s but then I’ve had some awful ones too). Sometimes the fruit seems to have gone past its prime or was stored at the wrong temperature(giving me mealy mangoes). But I still go back for decent green veg, which is stored inside in cooler environs.
