Big, spread out, and pretty to look at, but lacking. I’ve never quite been able to put my finger on exactly what it is abut the Westfield White City location of House of Fraser that has never drawn me in, but lack of customer service certainly is one of the things. Finding someone to help can be a task, and they never seem particularly interested in helping(apart from the beauty department, where they are eager to help anyone walking by).

Reviewing just their Lingerie and Hosiery department, I gave them 3 stars. I’d give them 4 stars for the Brands in their Lingerie department. La Perla, Chantelle, Elle McPherson, and DKNY seemed to dominate the front of the Lingerie department and all competitively priced comparing to Nordstrom back in the states. One Chantelle bra is 87 dollars back home and it’s only 35 pounds so Yay for UK shopping! But there’s not a lot of variety so taking a star down. The Hosiery department is small. Almost too small. They have a few basics but more fashion tights as they are very on trend right now. Small but still worth my time. =)

Ooooh, I’m going to be contentious here and disagree — I like the design and modernity, but it leaves me cold. The odd shape of the store means that some of the women’s fashion ends up being shoehorned into the jutting point of the building, and I find it incredibly hard to find things. Also, they don’t have the range that other stores have — I do understand that it’s smaller, but I would have expected HOF to make this the flagship and go all out. It’s handy in that it’s attached to all the other luxury stores in the mall, but in my mind, not worth going into. The one concession that stood out for me is Biba, but not enough variety in the beauty, fashion and accessories. What’s with the handbags on shelves positioned 10 foot off the ground? I want to look at it, not slam-dunk it.

I agree with jeapeagle, this is definitely a lovely looking branch of House of Fraser. Being located within the massive Westfields shopping centre, it doesn’t even have too much of a department store feel to it. Come to think of it, it doesn’t really have that many departments, with most of the floor space being dedicated to fashion and beauty. I don’t know why they even bother with a home section as this is rather poor. I like their selection of designers. It is a bit baffling why they bother stocking some of the same brands available elsewhere in Westfields, but they have an unusual selection of Scandinavian designers not so widely available in London. Beware of their creative pricing, though: I noticed a couple of tags on a paid of Bruuns Bazaar trousers. The £ price recommended by the manufacturer was a lot less than that charged by House of Fraser! Credit to the floor staff, though, following several phone calls they agreed to sell me the item at the lower price.

This is the nicest House of Fraser I have been in — the swanky black décor is lovely. They have a lovely Beauty section, plenty of clothes and designer accessories. They sell lots of high designer stuff, with very expensive prices. There are plenty of staff to help with your purchases. It is very spacious and easy to browse in, so is a very pleasant place to shop.
