Absolutely the best burger ever, the juiciest the tastiest and the chips are to die for. Been looking for this for 50 years. Must try. And the box is a design classic, it keeps the burger together and let’s is breathe naturally. All together a winer. Keep up the good work!

My burger took 1.5 hrs to arrive — even though the email eta I received said 45 mins! When I finally received my order, the food was stone cold. So disappointed. I will definitely not be ordering from here again !

I have tried Hamburger on two occasions, both were delivered via Deliveroo. First Occasion: We ordered the Fried Chicken Shack, Chilli Cheese Condo, Home Fries and Onion Shards. Because their menu doesn’t say, and it’s a sandwich, I assumed that the chicken was white meat. I was very wrong in my assumption, and because I don’t like dark meat, was left without much to eat. It’s a shame that they don’t mention this on their menu, and also a shame for me that it isn’t in white meat, because I can imagine I’d like it very much. The fries were delicious — freshly cooked, crispy outside and soft inside. Lovely. The onion shards were also really, really nice. Really crispy and the batter was perfect. Chris F wasn’t keen on the mustard on his burger, but it was at least listed on the menu, but did really like the other components very much. Second Occassion: We ordered the Home Fries, Mac Shack and Cheese, Onion Shards and Chilli Cheese Condo. I called them since Deliveroo doesn’t have a place for notes on orders, and requested that the burger didn’t have mustard. He adored the burger without it. Unfortunately, this place really loves their mustard, and put an absolutely insane amount into the mac and cheese. I’ve really never heard of such a thing, but again, I couldn’t eat it. If you really like mustard, then please, go for it. I was still happy with the other items, but unfortunately, the fries had very clearly been cooked long before we ordered them and weren’t the same as the first experience, and the onion shards were burnt. Again, not the same experience. I was really disheartened by the whole second experience. They go out of their way to package their food so that it stays as fresh as possible, but then give us old and burnt product. Chris was very happy with his burger, but I’m not real sure that we’d eat at Homeburger again without some assurances that we would face the same low standard of quality. My dislike of mustard and dark chicken meat, really isn’t their fault, though I wish that there would be a white meat option, and that isn’t why I’ve given them two stars. The lack of menu descriptions showing these things lost a star, and the old fries and burnt onion shards lost them one. **** I have decided to increase their star rating by one, as I did reach out to them to express my concerns, and their level of customer service has far exceeded that of other local establishments. The experience was apologised for, and I will give them another go, down the road a few months, and will hopefully be adding more stars, and a better review. ****

Brilliant. There is a danger I am going to get very fat now I’ve discovered this place! Excellent gourmet burgers, including a delicious veggo one. The packaging works — nothing was soggy when it was arrived. I’m never leaving home for a burger again.

I’m undecided on whether it’s a good thing that I can now have burgers delivered to my door. On the one hand: BURGERSDELIVEREDTOMYDOOR. On the other: this can only be bad for my waistline and my wallet. It doesn’t help that these are actually really great burgers. I had the cheeseburger and bacon and, despite some topping overflow, it was a well-cooked and well-seasoned burger. My fried also loved her veggie burger. Sides were good — I loved the seasoning on the fries a lot but the onion shards were the standout. These far surpassed their close cousin the onion ring — tasty and crispy, these were the thing I’m remembering from this meal. They didn’t have the fried chicken burger when we ordered which was disappointing but mainly just an excuse to order again. Adorable packaging, good food and it DELIVERSBURGERSTOYOURDOOR. All in all, will definitely order again.

The Ultimate Trade off. The first line of my review is the paradox which has caused me issues. I have tried this place three times to come to my verdict. This is a lovely little burger place that has recently open on Holloway Road which is just over a mile away from where i live. The concept is you can get essentially a gourmet burger delivered to your house. I was told that one of the partners/directors/founders is in marketing and it reflects in the quality of the takeaway signage/premise and the boxes that the food is delivered in. Let me detail my paradox — burgers are best eaten hot — the lag in getting them off the pan, onto a scooter and into the hands of someone can cause them to get cold. I like to be realistic around the value trade off when trying new places. Leading onto the second part of my issue — whichever you look at this service — its not cheap/reasonable. The burgers are circa £9 and the average side is around £4 — so for 2 burgers 2 chips and some onion rings — you are looking at the best part of £30. The first two times i tried it the burgers were warm, at best. At around £30 you are pushing the boundaries of going out for a meal. Eg you could get an average burger from Byron’s and it would be hot and you couple potentially justify the cost. If the burgers were around £6 and side were around £3 — i wouldn’t mind it so much. The burgers themselves are actually good quality — wouldn’t say the best — but good. Had they been hot i may have formed a different opinion. I know that this is a very novel concept but the price trade off was too great for me. If you have an Apple watch — then you will be a regular. If you want to try something new then i would recommend trying it and forming your own opinion. The company only opened recently so i am sure its still trying to find its feet — i would recommend it — but personally i may wait a few months, save a bit of money and try it again.

This is the best burger in London. Onion shards, Mac-and-cheese, fries and the pies are great. And the packaging is really cute.

AMAZING! I ordered from these guys a few weeks back with my housemate and boyfriend, they are both meat eaters I’m veggie. Firstly, online ordering was easy peasy, user friendly website, you can also order on the phone. Packaging was really on point, they have branded and designed well, in terms of practicality it is perfect no squished burgers or sloppy sides and fries falling out of packaging. The taste: It was amazing as a veggie I have quite a lot of options with burgers, but lot’s of times unless there is enough sauce veggie burgers can be dry, this the Greenhouse burger was anything but, it was moist, full of flavour and didn’t need loads of sauce, not that the sauces/condiments were amazing in and of themselves. Sadly the night we ordered they didn’t have the Fried Chicken Shack(chicken burger) on the menu(it was only a few weeks after opening) so my housemate had to choose something else. The sides, the triple cooked chips were good, I honestly don’t have a massive thing about fancy chips or fries, the coleslaw again was really good, it was fresh and the vegetable were crunchy(not like soggy supermarket coleslaw). The BEST side by far was the onion shards, not massively dissimilar to onion rings but SO much better, they were salty, crunchy, onion-y deliciousness. This time around we didn’t order desserts but that just means we have to order again sometime. In terms of delivery they took about 40mins — 50mins well within standard Saturday night takeaway/delivery times, we actually had the MD deliver our food(seeing what it was like for his delivery guys I guess), he was really nice, super polite, cannot fault the service there. I hope they introduce more veggie options, I have heard they are trying to get an alcohol licence so it would be nice if they served some beers/cider. Overall DELICIOUS.

Tried this place last night and i have to say it was a damn good burger. It may be a tad bit on the expensive side for burger and fries but the quality of the burger was really good full of flavour, the smokey bacon really came through, the bun was nice, everything complemented the other elements very well.

Brilliant burgers! Do note though you can’t eat in — only take-away or home delivery. Though don’t let that stop you thinking it’s a bad burger — quite the opposite. I had a cheese burger and chips. In Islington, chips are getting thinner(which is meant to be due to Islington’s council’s push for healthier eating). Anyway, Homburger’s chips were TRIPLE cooked in greatness! :-) The burger was worth the 40 minute wait. There branding is also fun and enjoyable — it made the entire experience a lot of fun and rememberable . So, if you’re at home and want a restaurant quality burger, ring and called Homeburger.

Everything about homeburger is on point. From the design of their packaging, menu and store, to — of course — the food. More veggie and vegan options wouldn’t go amiss, but they’re so new and already a firm favourite. Would highly recommend — and try the coleslaw!

In complete agreement with Samir S on his review here. You may groan at yet another burger place on the scene but this place has it down and even better it’s not far from where I live. The concept is different here. ‘Homeburger’ is a burger delivery joint rather than a sit down burger restaurant. In fact I don’t think you can sit down here, just take away. Inside, they have a cool interior and just has the feel of somewhere that is well thought out and just humming along perfectly despite it being pretty new. You can order online from their well designed and easy to use website or phone your order in. They deliver or u pick up. Next: the packaging. The packaging designs that they have come up with are worthy of a spot in the Design Museum. Quite amazing boxes and cardboard engineering cleverly designed to cradle and protect your burger and it’s contents as well as sides on it’s delivery to you. Got to be the most advanced and futuristic burger packaging ever. Finally the food: Of course, it’s all about the burger itself. Previously my mark of excellence was set by Honest Burger. I think Homeburger is at least as good and probably better. The bun is toasted brioche perfection and a bit more substantial than other places so it doesn’t disintegrate. The burger was perfect. Medium cooked, juicy, flavoursome as good as it can be. Toppings of bacon and American cheese also top marks. Ditto for the relish, onions, tomato, lettuce and sauce. Our group shared a dessert, sorry ‘pie scraper’ of PB&J pie. Just perfect and thankfully not too heavy and sweet. Looking forward to my next Homeburger!

The Magnetic Zeros had it right with the lyrics: — Home, let me come home Home is wherever I’m with you Home, let me come home Home is wherever I’m with you La la la la Take me home Mama, I’m coming home Indeed nowadays home is a small corner of London that is Highbury/Holloway, an area that I’m convinced is going through a real revolution. From cute little sushi places to places that specialise in sous-vide chicken(Chicks on Fire FTW!) to arts and crafts to couture latex there are huge changes. Homeburger is the latest of these. This is their seminal outlet and my have they done well. The shop itself has the level of detail that one would expect from a Soho hipster permanent popup with custom wallpaper, great décor and wonderfully cute custom boxes. Remember this is a takeaway or delivery place only; you really do have to be home to eat. The food, if the soft opening is anything to go by, has a very bright future. Before we even get to the burgers lets start with the sides. The mac n cheese was heart cloggingly wonderful with plenty of hot sticky cheese that lasted a couple of days(Indeed I’m just finishing it off now). The chocolate peanut butter pie had peanut butter mousse, chocolate mousse, cornflakes & a golden syrup crust. Yes it was as good at it sounds, we were just lucky that it is best served cold so we could have it later. This seriously good treat must be tried. The triple cooked slightly burnt(in a good way) unpeeled chips were great if just a little too salted. A nice touch was the included ketchup and BBQ sauce(though this was a little too sweet for me). Now for the burgers. These were EPIC. They blew the local Five Guys and Byron out of the water and, dare I say it, better than Honest Burger while being at least on a par with Patty and Bun. They all have big thick medium rare patties in a toasted brioche bun and the special ‘homesauce’. We went for the ‘Cheese Homeburger’ which had cheddar & American cheese with fried onion relish, and the BBQ Beach Hut which was topped off with slow cooked BBQ beef brisket, coleslaw and pickled red onions. The prices were competitive with Byron at £8 to £12 for a burger but without the choice of eating it there. Luckily the quality makes it worth it and really does make home something to look forward to. As you can see I’m a very spoilt local fan.
