Vegetarians avert your gaze now. Fresh juicy halal chicken. For some reason though the chickens here are not very big. I don’t know why — do they not let these chickens age and get fat?! They are tiny — but nevertheless fresh and tasty.
For too long Hendoner’s have been trekking to West Hendon to undertake extensive negotiations of the price per chicken — £2 vs £2.50 you say? In any case it was long overdue but they finally opened a butcher in Hendon Central and its definitely worth the visit.
The lamb isn’t half bad and the price is reasonable. Plus the butchers will take their time to give you the best as you like it. Clean and healthy.

Hendon Halal is a great neighbourhood butchers. I am always greeted with a genuine smile when I come and the service is friendly and helpful. I can always count on them when I’m making a recipe and I’ve forgotten those one or two vital ingredients like fresh green chillies or courgettes. Their prices are reasonable and I think they try to provide slightly different offerings than the other nearby cornershops, which is nice. I think their best kept secret though is their 3 baby chickens for just £6. With that you can make a pretty fantastic meal for quite a few people, and I can tell you that it tastes fresh and delicious! (although they sell chicken, not cooking skills people! some of this is DIY: P)
