Harrow Bus Station

The station is located next to the Harrow on the Hill underground station, and just across the road from the rear entrance to the St Anns Shopping centre — so very conveniently placed. It has always had a bit of an ongoing thing where it plays classical music throughout the building — I think there was some old thing where classical music prevents kids from staying at a location. Regardless, it’s quite nice (although that may be my age aiding that opinion!).
The actual layout is a bit of a mess as the buses often get backed up trying to get into the stops around the back of the station as it just takes a little traffic and it all jams up. Plus whenever a bus stops at the first stop around the back, it inevitably jams everything up again. Sadly though, it’s a victim of its own success as there simply isn’t the footprint available to change the layout to something better since it backs directly onto the underground tracks.

Conveniently located next to the Underground/​Train station and the twin Harrow Shopping Centres of St Ann’s and St George it is a major travel hub in Harrow. The bus station is not large as such but has a rectangular layout with bus stops on both sides with waiting space in between. The stops are clearly marked and there is an electronic arrival/​departure timing boards showing the list of bus routes where buses are expected.
The station has a newsagent that sells stuff you need during your travel and also has option to top up the Oyster card as well. There is a small ‘Treats’ snack shack where you can get small bites and drinks.
The station gets extremely crowded during peak times. One of the popular route is 140 which is the service to Heathrow Airport, and is a 24 hr service.
As I said, it delivers but nothing to rave about.

Harrow bus station is very central, in Harrow and you can’t miss it! It’s right next to Harrow on the Hill station. The buses takes you within Harrow borough and the surrounding areas, theirs a bus that takes to Heathrow Airport as well.
The bus station includes news agent, and they play classical music overhead. Theirs is seating inside, but no central heating when it get cold. The digital clock plus bus timetables are useful. I’ve been here at various times of the day and night and yes it can be really crowded and not… but hey it’s near two shopping centres.
But yeah Harrow Bus station does the job.

i use harrow buses regularly and have an oyster card cause it’s very easy to use. A complaint i left my oyster card at home and had to travel on 183 from Harrow to Pinner on saturday 16^th March at 3.15pm i entered the 183 with £3 to pay a single fare to Pinner which is £2.40. I gave the money to Bus Driver who quickly told me he has no change but i stated what i just needed the change back. He said again do not any change so i told him to keep the change what a cheek. It’s a alot of money but it is the fact he didn’t even look for change. I realise most passengers use their Oyster Cards as it’s quicker but the bus was half empty and people behind me were not getting annoyed. i just worry he is doing this to other passengers and then his money box would not be in line with the ticket machine so how will he explain this in the office. Maybe this is a petty complaint but i would like to know if the drivers are given a float in the mornings that actually contains some change.

Has improved slightly over the past few years. A reasonably sized bus station, right next to the Harrow on the Hill tube station. There is a few shops inside including a newsagent and a coffee shop — but for a proper coffee shop go out the station and into the entrance of the tube station! Classical music is now played to deter groups of young kids.

Very intimidating and crowded. Surprised no-​one has got hit by a bus when they just pack them in. Avoid at all costs and get a bus a little further down the road.
