Harefield Manor Hotel

I stayed here with a group of around seven people and had a mediocre experience. The rooms were fine, but when we walked into our one, there was an overwhelmingly strong smell of cigarette smoke which, as two non-​smokers and asthmatics, was unacceptable. Particularly as they would have had about six hours to air the room beforehand. The staff were however accommodating and tried to show us some other rooms, but even though they were all fine, there was a general stale stench in the ones we were taken to.
This hotel’s saving grace was its fully English breakfast fry-​up and other breakfast varieties which were pretty yummy. This hotel has potential, but overall, it could be a lot better.

Das Hotel ist aufgeteilt auf 2 Gebäuden, ist sehr nett im Landhausstil eingerichtet. Wir waren im November da. Das Zimmer war klein aber funktional, mit alten Möbeln und alter Einrichtung aber es passte zum Stil. Es gab einen Wasserkocher, Tee und Instant-​Kaffee, ein Bügelbrett mit Bügeleisen. Das Bett und das Badezimmer waren sauber, die Leute am Empfang freundlich, die Rezeption 24 h besetzt. Das Frühstück war typisch englisch — nicht mein Fall aber reichlich und der Frühstücksraum war sehr nett — ein Wintergarten. Leider hatten wir während fast allen Nächten Feueralarm. In einer Nacht 4 Mal hintereinander… und das ohne Grund… es hieß es sei ein Defekt… diese Störung wurde nicht etwa sofort behoben sondern erst ein paar Nächte später…Ich hätte mir deswegen etwas Entgegenkommen gewünscht. Ohne Alarm hätte ich mehr Sterne vergeben.

So, I booked this online and then read some negative reviews and thought oh poop!
However, we went to check in and we were greeted by a very smiley polite chap. Checking in was painless and quick. We got our door card and off we went.
Now, the room was a bit warm to be honest, but then again it was a muggy August evening so I guess this is to be expected.
The room itself was quite small, but perfectly functional for one night. I think if I was staying a few nights I might want one that was bigger.
I was immaculately clean in the bedroom area and the bath/​shower and taps, toilet.
The only thing I picked up on was the dust in a towel rail so it was absolutely fine.
The room had a proper ironing board and proper iron, not some poxy travel iron or board, or indeed, having to go to the reception and ask for one.
Towels were clean and fluffy. The bed linen was totally clean too.
There was parking right by the entrance door so we didn’t have to traipse across the car park with all our bits and bobs.
Lots of plug sockets and believe it or not, logically placed!
The boyff went down for the breakfast in the morning and said it was «banging» so I’m guessing that’s a complete thumbs up. He said there was loss there too and you could have as much as you wanted. Breakfast did finish at 09:00 though, so that’s a bit early for me to be up awake and eating on a Bank Holiday!
So, for the money we spent I was a happy bunny all in all. It’s not worth more than that, £65. But completely acceptable for £65!
(Good price for a Bank Holiday too — cheaper than the main brand ones in the area)

Gutes und sauberes Hotel, aufgeteilt in 2 Gebäude. Parkmöglichkeiten direkt an und hinter den Häusern. Die Zimmer sind sehr nett und im Landhausstil eingerichtet. Lan-​Anschluss in den Zimmern. Ansonsten gibt es noch Wasserkocher mit Tee und Instantkaffee in den Zimmern sowie Trouser-​Press und Satelliten-​TV. Keine Minbar und auch keine Klimaanlage.
Letztere fehlte doch sehr, da nach einem sonnigen Tag unsere Zimmer extrem aufgeheizt waren und die Luft ‘stand’.
Zum Hotel gehört ein Restaurant ‘I Paparazzi Ristaurante Italiano’, das wirklich sehr gute Italienische Speisen bietet. Das Restaurant würde ich sogar mit 4 Sternen bewerten.
