Good fish and chips as it should be, offering a restaurant and a takeaway. Service is quick and efficient, chips have the right amount of crispness and puffiness, fish never seems old and the batter is great. Much better than the faux 1950s fish and chip shop in nearby Spitalfields and better value too.

We had just landed in London when we found this amazing Fish and Chips place. Let me tell you, the food was amazing! The wife had the Cod and Chips, and I had the Halibut and chips. The fish is not over fried and the Halibut was nice and flakey. The Cod was moist and fatty and not rubbery like some places we’d tried before. The portion was just perfect for the two of us. The nice Easter egg was the history behind the place. There are pictures and art from the Jack the Ripper times. Ask the staff about the history of the location and you’ll be pleasantly surprised! Happy Days is definitely a must go for not only the food but the décor and history! Cheers!

First stop on our vacay. The F&C does not disappoint. Portions are huge and the fish is so crispy. Service is great. From what I gather, Jack the Ripper actually wrote on its wall with blood.

Great place for fish and chips. Fish perfectly cooked and the service was amazing. We spend around 12 € per person but the plate was very abundant and we had a couple of beers with it so in my opinion cheap!

I am actually giving it 3.5 stars for take away fish and chips. Happy Days specializes in fish and chips. They have good size dining area which is very simple or minimal yet clean. Right next door is their take away counter for those on the go like me on that day. Apparently in this place you have two choices of either medium of large portions for your f&c order. So because I was hungry as I always seem to be, I had the large cod and chips for £7.80. Well, the large serving is huge here but that is how I like it. The fish inside the batter is pretty fresh, somewhat true to the size that you see when you order but not a tad bland. I thought it could be better. Like I was insinuating earlier, the fish is not thickly battered so you don’t feel cheated. As for the chips, its the usual fat sliced and soggy potatoes. My other gripe about Happy Days is the fact that they do not offer freshly made tartare sauce. I got the lowly and mediocre packet tartare sauce which cost me 10p per packet. PerhapsI am a sauce person and to me condiments especially the homemade once enhance the taste of the food. As for my verdict, f&c is good here. I would definitely go back here and suggest it to my friends and family but I hope they would have better tartare sauce.

Came here on vacation– great price for fish ‘n chips with a can of soda(6 €)! Not to mention the chili dipping sauce was amazing! Crispy fish and chips were exactly what we needed after 13 hours of flying from the U.S. This is family owned business with great customer service! Didn’t know it but the son of the owner shared the walking tours going on were for Jack the Ripper! So we got a a quick history lesson from the owner’s son and heard the walking tour for free! Definitely would go back to the U.K. just for the meal! 30 years of being in business, they know what’s up!

We were thrilled to find this restaurant via Unilocal. It was within easy walking distance of the Tower of London. Our family tried the skate, cod and haddock. The portions were enormous, but somehow everyone managed to find room and enjoyed the meal thoroughly. We also recommend the sticky toffee pudding. Peter waited on us and was terrific!

Hmmm… It’s really OK, probably the second best fish and chips within walking distance of Liverpool Street. Their take-away deal is good, they have table service in the restaurant too. Goulston Street is now home to a lot of hawkers and I’m constantly tempted away by the Thai and Indian offerings, but if fish and chips is your bag, this isn’t a bad place to bag some.

One of the best fish and chips shops in London, by far. The seating area can get a bit cramped, and take care as Thursday and Friday lunchtimes will see a queue out the door(the restaurant entrance is separate, so there’s usually no waiting if you want to stay in for lunch). The fish and chips are excellent, with lovely crispy batter and tasty perfectly done chips. They offer cod, haddock, plaice, rockfish(among others) as well as(battered and unbattered) saveloy, gherkins and of course mushy peas. Dining in, the menus also have a full range of options, inlcuding grilled salmon, calamari, fish cakes, etc. It’s a great little place, definitely one of the best!

Pretty darn good fish and chips. A huge piece of fish lightly battered so it doesn’t overpower the flavour. The chips were a little in the soggy side. But some like it that way. About 8 pounds for fish and chips, so reasonable but not cheap.

This place has the best fish and chips in the area. They offer a variety of fish,(sorry) I do not remember all of them, freshly fried served with your choice of mushy peas or chips. I had the standard cod with chips. From what I remember the serving size was huge. The fish was fried to perfection in matzo meal. The matzo meal was very flavorful but not overbearing; I could still savor the seasoned cod. I wanted to stop here before I left but this location is not open on the weekends.
