Grey Flannel

Grey Flannel is a men’s clothing shop in an interesting street between Baker St and Marylebone High St, founded by Richard Froomberg in 1974 and who has kept the same attentive and knowledgable staff for years. He specialises in high quality mens’ formal and casual clothing including weekend shirts, sweaters, trousers and coats. Suits can be bought off the peg or made to measure by the same factory as supplies Brioni, all for considerably less than the equivalent in the Bond St, Jermyn St or Knightsbridge shops. I have several suits, jackets and trousers from him, as well as a now well-​worn Italian leather coat with a detatchable lining that I can never be parted from in winter.
Richard and his staff take a personal interest in their customers, most of whom are of long standing. It’s exactly as it should be, and the quality and service mean that it’s now one of the few independent high-​class men’s outfitters left.
