I love GBK because of their really good lunch special. I pretty much order the same burger with blue cheese sauce every time BUT each time I order I always ask for LIGHT blue cheese sauce because the taste is over powering and each time it comes pouring out of the burger and its the only thing i can taste. Just gets a little frustrating when this happens every single time because i did not order a blue cheese burger with light meat and salad. Only complaint, not a biggie, i still love the place! The chips are yum and i always leave really full. I like that they ask how you like your meat cooked, usually its just well done without question so i like the option.

Affordable tasty burgers, what is there to complain about?! Students get 30% off with the app. This gbk is on a cool location on northcote road so head out to get a drink somewhere else after.

The service is good, staff are friendly and food is pretty quick. I find the place a little expensive for the quality though. And I’m not sure what the sauce they use in the burgers but I didn’t care for it. I ordered the bacon and cheese, my friend ordered the avocado burger and we both didn’t like the sweet sauce they use for the burger. I quite liked the skinny fries though. They remind me of hickory sticks back in Canada. I came here because we had a coupon but I don’t think I would come back here without one.

I love this GBK. It’s the original and it’s tiny, but the service is always top shelf. I always feel a bit like I’m eating in a cave, but that adds to the appeal IMO. The burgers are the fab GBK standard and my recent addiction is the bacon aioli with sweet potato fries. To die for! Tip: use their app and quickly earn free eats!

I would say a lot changed since 2009. I was there today and in general I was quite happy. First, I have to mention that there is a new hamburger place exactly opposite of this one — we checked them both and then decided to fill our tummies here. I would say both places offer pretty much similar stuff(just had quick look into menu), and when we compared the outer looks, GBK won. It is small, cosy place with wood design, the second one is much bigger with some pink-lollipop-alike style. Nice waiter came to welcome us immediately, explained us how to order(FYI — u can get free beer if u use your smart phone — as I don t have one, I don t know more details. But I am sure they will be happy to explain how it works.) We ordered two different burgers plus skinny fries(as a girl I expected it to be low fat fries, but they were actually skinny shaped:) and sweet potatoes fries sprinkled with fried rosemary and garlic and bacon mayo, I have to say the sweet fries were highlight of my day! Soo yummy! Fantastic and simple idea! About the burger, I cannot compare much(just started to eat meat recently) for me it was good, definitely better quality than Mr. Donald, but nothing that will blow my mind off. My friend enjoyed it, actually, we agreed to swap our burgers(he got mine spicy one with chorizo and I got his one with blue cheese. Good deal.) As I said, the fries were yummy but the amount was really small(for that money??), and perhaps in american style restaurant I would expect to have more of it for less money. However, we got fresh tap water with lemon straight after order apart of our normal drinks, and the service was excellent!

Alleged to be the original GBK, as in the first outlet to open, there is not very much to make this place stand out from its kin aside from the large new Byron Burger more or less across the street. The burgers are much as GBK burgers are; good, but not really best-of-breed. Why not use the flagship store as somewhere a little bit different perhaps use it as the trial outlet for new menu items?

For nearly £10 I’d expect some decent bread with my burger. I’d be wrong. A tasteless, stale bun surrounding a good-to-average burger. Should struggle now that Byron has opened up around the corner.

A small branch but has good lunch menu deals and service is fairly quick. Lunch deals are good because the chips come included!

The GBK that started it all is still there, still tiny but now utterly sucks. To be honest, the chain as a whole does too. I ordered their most expensive burger, the previously-amazing kiwiburger, but the bun was stale and falling apart. The chips were overcooked and my wife’s blue cheese burger didn’t «taste of anything». As I said, it was a once-fine chain which is now not very good at all.

As already mentioned this place is steep for a burger joint — you are looking at upwards of £10 for a burger and chips — and whilst they might not be great value, they are decent burgers. I think the gourmet burger game is changing though, and with new places like Byron Soho( ) which are comparably priced opening, GBK is looking like a tired concept that needs to up its game(or lower its prices). Last night when I went in it was empty, apart from our table, which suggests I’m not the only person who feels this way… Couple of other things that really let GBK down are the fact you have to order at the counter(you’d really think they could afford to serve you at the table given the cost…) and the décor; which is plain cheap and nasty.

I often ate at gourmet burger and wa never let down. BUT… i went there for lunch today with my partner. we are now both feeling sick after having a burger from there. I will spare you the details but I assure it’s nasty. to make mattes worse the staff were grumpy and very unfriendly. Hopeless. Will not go again.

Very pricey for a burger and chips, but I have to say it is one of my favourites. I can especially recommend the huge burger with the egg, cheese and pineapple. These restaurants are popping up all over London, and this is a welcome addition to Clapham.

I hate to say it, but I find it amusing that this burger chain is categorized as «American». If that were the case, the french fries would come with the meal at no extra charge, and there would be endless beverage refills. Ah well, this isn’t America so I’m not holding it against them. GBK is A-OK. They offer plenty of great burger options, some traditional and some a bit more unique. I LOVE that they offer buffalo and wild boar burgers– the only thing missing is an ostrich burger(yum, so good). The only downside is the price on those more unique ones, but being that it’s a challenge to find buffalo meat at all here, I’d be willing to pay the price. However, it does take me back to my Trader Joe’s days when I could buy a 4-pack of frozen buffalo burgers for $ 4.Sigh… Moving on. Yeah, I liked this place. It was good, no complaints but nothing great to shout about. There’s a nice sweet tomato/onion relish they use which is lovely. I would recommend that they make more space for diners because it’s tight fit in there and I was slightly embarrassed when I knocked over a ketchup bottle with my ass when trying to get past our neighbors table. That said, it was a chilly night so they’d taken down their outdoor seating, so I imagine there’s more space on warmer nights. I would recommend ~

GBK make such yummy, giant, freaking brilliant burgers. I love the chicken satay burger and always eat it all — and then feel overfull for hours! — and the chips are beautiful with garlic mayo. A really top-notch place and great when you fancy a naughty dinner!

It’s GBK, offering their range of slightly expensive burgers. I’m partial to the Kiwiburger, with beetroot, egg and pineapple, but it can get quite messy. Although the burgers are cooked medium, it tends towards a very British idea of medium. This branch is quite small, and often filled with all the tearaways and pushchairs of the area.

Hungover on a Saturday and needed a good stodgy meal. Not wanting to sit out in public we got a take away from GBK on Northcoates road. I’ve eaten at GBK before but wasn’t overly impressed, however on this day I went for a classic cheese burger. Amazing, fitted my mood and hunger perfectly and devoured it within five minutes in front of the rugby. Only problem I have with this place and why it has not got 5* is that two burgers and two sprites came to £19.20!!! Now that is ridiculous.

Ok me and my mates go here now and again, mainly to use the Buy one get on free voucher deals they usually have going on. its slightly expensive without them deals. but you do get a good burger for the money, the burgers are absolutely massive and some people even result to using a knife and fork to eat it with. they can be very messy but as i said, they are gorgeous and i would recommend it to anyone that loves a good burger. in no way are they healthy though. this is pure meaty goodness not for the healthy people out there

Even people who are not Burger lovers will like to visit GBK and of course the burger lovers of London will be in there weekly. I always thought of burgers as greasy, bland sandwiches but since I visited GBK i see them in a whole new light. They have selections of burgers from around the globe. Many of them are spiced or have herbs or even fruit in them. The salad and toppings are clearly fresh and they are cooked to perfection. Suprisingly not even that greasy.

GBK has the most delicious burgers I have ever tried. They have a great selection of burgers, toppings, the salad is fresh and crispy and the bread is soft. On the weekend it gets too busy that you might have to wait to get a table, but it is worth a try.
