Very disappointing! My first visit to a GBK and it was not what I was expecting. It’s MCD’s with cutlery! The place was very dirty and what little service they offer is rough at best. The food was ok, but certainly not gourmet by any bodies standards. I will not be returning. Overpriced for what it is. Kx

Great place to eat a burger and specially the falafel burger rocks! Prices are kinda high but it makes sense as the taste and the service are top class! way to go GBK

Burgers taste good but they are overpriced. You need to queue up to order and that means there is a long line and you dont have any guarantee you will have a table when the burger is ready.

I was starving so bad so decided to try their best burger ‘Taxi driver’. It tasted good but I’m still hungry after spending £9.75. Is this a joke or something, i mean it’s so damn pricey. I’m gonna stick to double whopper meal at least I won’t be hungry after spending £6.

GBK! Can’t go wrong. Now I understand why it is called GBK… because they really are gourmet! After experiencing how tasty their burgers are, I don’t think I can ever look at another burger the same again. Husband got the Taxi Driver and I got. oh I can’t remember, but it had bacon and it was GOOD! Skinny fries are the tastiest, but the onion rings are to die for!

Their burgers are just amazing. The avocado one is soo delicious. Remind me a lot of my favourite Mexican food. Onion rings are also great. I don’t like milk so maybe I’m from only few who don’t like their milkshakes. But once tried Fresh ‘n’ Fizzy and can’t go there without taking a one — for sure it’s refreshing. What like most about this chain are their initiatives — like using 25p from every kiwiburger for kiwi’s in New Zealand.

Nothing so far beats this burgers! The beef is so yummy and he burgers are massive! I love the kiwi burger which is actually the Aussie burger with pineapple and beetroot and egg. So yummy. The chips with mayo are great too. I really don’t lime milkshakes but this is only one place on earth where I will have one. Is to die for! I wish I still live in London …

This place is amazing! I’m from South Africa and I have found it hard to find places that have good burgers. They are usually super greasy and have that horrible«burger sauce» on it! GBK has lots of variety with some creative burgers! I haven’t tackled The Mighty yet — looks like I’ll need to prepare for that one. My favourite burger is the BBQ one. My partner swears by the pesto one! Even the chicken burgers are quite good. It’s just a shame they don’t have bacon on more burgers! The dipping sauces are pretty good too. We really enjoy the garlic and the blue cheese ones. My partner loves the onion rings, and the fries are nice and chunky. Decent prices for the burgers, but there are always vouchers flying around so you can get them even cheaper! I’ve noticed some people complaining about waiting, but I never had a problem. I think the longest I waited was about 15 minutes. Usually people are good about leaving after they finish and not holding up tables when there is a queue. Also, the staff are awesome! I really enjoying going to this GBK because they are always so nice. All in all — I highly recommend this place!

I had a monster burger craving today and there was no better way to feed the monster than a trip to GBK. Their menu is great and I really love the variety of toppings they offer. I decided I needed a burger with a twist so not only did I opt for a Kiwiburger, but I also decided to go for buffalo instead of beef. The Kiwiburger is topped with an egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato — and here’s where it starts to get a bit weird — pineapple and beetroot. Honestly, it was delicious. The beetroot and pineapple along with the meat and cheese worked really well and made the salty/sweet combination that I love(I ALWAYS order a Hawaiian pizza) and the buffalo was a great choice. I wanted something slightly healthy-ish(I know, I know, «healthy burger» is kind of an oxymoron) but didn’t want a veggie option or chicken. I looked it up and actually buffalo is very low in fat, even lower than chicken breast, so I decided to try it. I highly recommend it — it gave me my red meat fix but it was definitely less fatty that a beef burger but still full of flavor. Plus if you order the Kiwiburger, they donate 25p to help save the Kiwi in New Zealand, which is great. As far as the restaurant itself, it was clean, the service was friendly(the guy who took my order at first told me that I couldn’t substitute buffalo in on a Kiwiburger but then did it for me anyway) and the food came out pretty quick. The only thing is that you have to go up to the counter and place the order yourself, which is fine, except if you happen to get there at the same time as a few other tables, you could be waiting in line for a while just to place your order. But when the burger craving monster comes back, I’ll definitely be bringing it to GBK again.

Always wanted to try their burgers and finally walked in with my partner and they had Valentine’s special. I must say I am a fan of their corn chips with salsa, avocado and sour cream topping. The burgers on the menu are amazing. They have Buffalo and wild boar burgers. Have to try them next time! By the way the Valentine offer is on till 28th Feb — 2 people have 2 burgers, share a plate of corn chips and fries and if you are still not full a little chocolate for dessert… all for 14 pounds.

Still the best gourmet burgers in London. Much better than Byron. Some say it’s a bit gimmicky but that’s a moot point if you stick with basic burgers.

Unfortunately, fast food ‘restaurants’ have reduced the Mighty Burger to that of a thin, almost two-dimensional, beef patty lodged between a grease soaked bap. GBK is a shiny armoured Knight riding to the rescue of a timeless staple of modern western cuisine. Their menu has a wide range of burgers to suit all tastes be it beef, lamb, chicken or vegetarian. Although the menu appears expensive(between 6 and 8 pounds thereabouts) the burgers are HUGE and I generally order without any sides. If you pop on their website before you visit you can normally find some discount vouchers too!

Ah, every time I look at GBK and other burger joint clones, I remember my friend who came up with the concept of the posh but affordable burger restaurant in the mid 90s and never followed through with it. If only… The popularity of the GBK chain extends to this Wimbledon BRoadway location. On sunny days, they open out the front of the restaurant. They offer a range of different burgers, with different meat fillings and even some veggie options. They’re all tasty though I’ve yet to figure out how to fit them into my mouth without spillage! Definitely not a first date place if you want to appear to have good table manners! I also love their proper milkshakes. Solid place for lunch, especially if people are choosy.

Inspired from New Zealand, Gourmet Burger Kitchen(GBK) opened its first branch in Battersea and it has proved to be popular throughout London. I only recently visited this Wimbledon branch and it was the first time I had visited a GBK. I was expecting it to be brilliant but was sadly disappointed. The burgers were good but I expected them to be better and bigger. I also expected them to come with chips with you had to pay extra for this which I thought was strange considering the high price. Luckily I had gone when they were doing a promotion a few months back which entitled us to get two burgers for the price of one. This made it good value but I don’t think I would pay full price. It also felt very much like fast food as it was obvious that the staff had to turn around tables as fast as poss. To be honest I know of pubs in Wandsworth which do much better burgers and where you don’t feel rushed.

The hamburger, one could argue, has lost its way over the years. It’s been turned into a health hazard, a symbol of obesity and clogged veins. But don’t despair! The simple, delicious beauty of the hamburger has not been forgotten by Gourmet Burger Kitchen, where several wicked and exotic types of hamburger can be eaten over a glass of good wine or beer and a plate of garlicky olives. The only question you’ll raise at Gourmet Burger Kitchen is not why you are there, but how you are going to eat the massive burger that has just arrived in front of you. I prefer the grab-and-send-to-bottomless-pit method, but depending on your company you might just prefer to use a knife and fork. Their bacon and avo burger is scrumptious, but if you’re not adventurous, so is their cheese burger. You must try Gourmet Burger Kitchen, and the sizeable Wimbledon branch is a great start.
