Came here for brekki with a friend! Got there about 10 on a Saturday, place was quiet with a few tables. The staff was highly attentive, quick to greet us and friendly in assisting us with our questions. The menu had great options. I got a proper breakfast with scrambled eggs over sourdough bread with bacon, sausage, beans and potatoes… More than enough for one person, couldn’t finish it, but it was delicious! I would like to come back during the week when they have the £5 menu for breakfast, offering more options. £5 for breakfast with a hot beverage! By the time we left, about noon, the place was packed with many families, but all the children were well behaved!

This is my local burger place(on a Tuesday night) as they do a great deal for burger and fries for £6.95. The Giraffe burger is my go to and I’d recommend having it medium, as the meat is nice and pink(no blood) and juicy.

We had a lovely brunch in this bright and airy café, loads of space for a group of girls plus suitcases and this seems like a very family friendly place with little packs to keep children occupied(and balloons. On a giraffe) Most of my group went for pancakes– not one managed to finish them so I can assume they’re a pretty healthy portion! I did try some, and they are good. The toastie and the croque monsieur weren’t as substantial, but the croque was just about enough for me. The smoothie range looks really interesting with one featuring kale and spinach, good for the morning detox? I’d have tried one so I could tell you all;, but it cost nearly as much as my food, and my wallet was feeling a bit bruised that day. I’ll have to come back for it. Super friendly service, although we thought we could get a discount for having stayed in the Raglan hotel nearby, but apparently this had a timescale– I think it could only be used after 5… A few little tables outside for those wanting to soak up the atmosphere, plus a bar and more substantial menu for post-brunchers. it’s not exactly cheap here, but for the odd treat it’s a good bet(and ta was a decent price).

Great place to go for breakfast or branch. A great selection of foods to choose from. The place has a very nice feel to it and the staff are very friendly and attentive. They have a bar which is great and a nice selection of cocktails to choose from. Outdoor seating is available and give you a great view of all that’s going on in muswell hill.

I’m down in London visiting some friends who very kindly took me out for lunch at Giraffe yesterday in Muswell Hill. I’ve never been before and was surprised that the restaurant is part of a chain, it has an nice independent feel to it. We arrived around 12 and the place was hoaching with families with lots of young kids, really busy and noisy. We had to wait a few minutes for a table but we were sat in a nice booth so no one really minded. My local friends informed me that the brunches here are amazing, I’d been scoping out other people’s meals while we were waiting and noticed a lot of people eating pancakes. «ooh brilliant» I thought, pancakes for brunch sounded like a great idea. Small problem I couldn’t find it anywhere on the menu. Slightly disappointed I ordered the full brunch with scrambled eggs(which was lovely) assuming that I would find the pancakes on the dessert menu. FOILEDAGAIN! It turns out the pancakes are on the breakfast menu, which we arrived too late for. However it seems the locals here know they can ask for it after 12pm anyway. I feel a little jipped by not knowing this piece of local insider knowledge, I would have definitely ordered pancakes if I’d known. I pass this gem of knowledge on to you fellow Unilocalers… even if you can’t find them on the menu, always ask if you can have the pancakes!

I came here for breakfast and had the porridge which came with honey, strawberries and banannas. What a filling, healthy and satisfying way to start the day!

a free coffee on a wednesday morning? yes please! service in here is beyond brilliant. i spent a day here after having my heart broken, waiting for my friend to finish work and rescue me. slumped in a back booth with my worldly possesions they brought me endless cups of coffee, kind words and coaxed me into eating their very delicious ranchos huevos — it must’ve been pretty delicious if i can remember it because i was in a total state of shock and eating like a sparrow! Can’t thank them enough. Recently went to the one in Reading with my family and the service was equally as great there. Keep up the good work!

I visited this restaurant with a couple of friends and a 40% off food voucher. We had a variety of food between us, which was all tasty, but the portions seemed quite small to me, and unusually for me I had a dessert and so got to enjoy a hot brownie with hot chocolate sauce and ice cream, which was delicious, but I was still not sated, and think I snacked on returning home. Considering that I am a tiny bird, the portions are probably going to be on the small side for most people, but the food is really tasty. Maybe it would be better for a lunchtime snack than a full on evening belly-fill. Anyway, the service was excellent, the restaurant itself is nicely decorated and clean, and with 40% off, everything was a total bargain!

Stopped by here one very sunny Saturday afternoon and sat at an outside table and had the hot brownie with hot chocolate sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it was as good a desert as I’ve ever had anywhere, ever. I’ve heard that cliché about certain foods being like and or as good as sex and it’s always irritated me, but, on that Saturday afternoon on the street, in front of Giraffe in Muswell Hill, for the very first time, I understood it. I’ve already written a negative review about the Richmond branch of Giraffe, mostly about the lack of generosity of their portions. In fact it was at this branch where I was asked to pay for a tiny pot of jam with my very expensive breakfast. I expressed my horror at such a sugggestion and the cost of the jam was removed from my bill. Likewise, the desert I’ve described came with only one measly sized scoop of ice cream. Apart from that it was perfect. The brownie was gooey, sweet, but not too sweet and warm. My tea was served in a very cute heavy little Moroccan style teapot. It was quite splendid. If you’re going to eat something high calorie, it should be as good as this. (Maybe I should add that I was in a tremendously good mood that day and it may have coloured my experience to some degree).

Good food, frendly staff but if you want to sit outside don’t wait for the nice and friendly waiters to come and take your order. My friend and I decided to sit outside and we sat there for about 20 minutes with no service and decided that we had enough and just got up and left.

Giraffe is a great restaurant, it is colourful and serves great food. I have been many times to quite a few of them, but the Muswell Hill one is the closest to me. The service in here is great, they are so attentive. It has an African theme, very colourful and is always a nice place to eat. During lunch, you can get some great deals here, you can easily eat for under £10 and have a lovely burger or any other of the selected courses within the deal, which also happen to be on the main menu. My favourite burger in here is the Falafel burger, it is huge, and comes with haloumi(a Greek cheese) and you have a selection of sides to choose from. They specialise in burgers and you will definitely find one that suits you. They also have a good drink menu, with a good cocktail list and some interesting bottled beers. The whole Giraffe thing reminds me of when Nandos arrived in the UK, everybody got really excited about it, a themed restaurant with decent food. More are opening all the time throughout London, and they really push great customer service. The Muswell Hill branch is small but extremely friendly and is always a really cool place to go, and isn’t to harsh on the pocket. Lunch is a great way to give it a test and if you like burgers, then you will love Giraffe.

Excellent place to eat! Wide range of ‘World’ Foods, good vegetarian menu, and an awesome range of smoothies too. The staff at this particular brach were very attentive, and didn’t appear to stop smiling! Although i didn’t go with any children, the kids in the restaurant were kept well entertained with balloons and fun craft /colouring stuff. Great for family dining!

Part of a chain. It focuses on ‘World Food’. Quite tasty, especially breakfast and lunch. Good smoothies too. Gets the most points for being very children friendly with highchairs etc.
