Amazing value sushi buffet. There is a good variety of nigiri/maki on offer in the unlimited part of the menu, and all are flavourful and well made. The hot foods are pleasant and you get so much for your money. The staff are very friendly, although on some occasions have been a little slow to take our repeat orders. I fairly heavily recommend it.

Went here last night for the buffet. I paid 16.90, which is the price Monday-Thursday after 19:00. You get 75 minutes to finish eating. First you are able to choose a set from either mixed nigiri, maguro nigiri with sake sashimi or just sake sashimi. Then a few select, original Ginnan rolls will come out. At this point I felt like service was very poor. There were 4 waitresses on the floor and the restaurant wasn’t even half way full and to order and to receive food took at least 30 min. Furthermore, with the original Ginnan rolls, I asked if some of them could be replaced as one contained bananas, which I am allergic too. She merely smiled meekly and nodded her head, clearly showing that she didn’t understand nor did she really make an effort of what I was asking. Some of the other rolls had an odd sweet sauce, a bit similar in taste to creamed coconut, which I didn’t find too appetizing. From the hot food you have around 13 options and of the 13 you can choose 7 dishes. These were brought out quickly and were decent, although are blatantly an attempt at filling patrons up before they can consume too much sushi. Then you are able to order rounds of maki and salmon nigiri. As with most sushi buffets the choices are very limited. The quality of the fish here is very fresh and if you’re starving and aren’t too picky and crave a variety then I would recommend the buffet. If you’re a bit more selective then go a la carte. I would go again if I was in the area, but definitely not something to rave about and service is appalling.

All you can eat sushi, better than Hi Sushi, and for less money? Count me in. This isn’t just«cheap stuff only» all you can eat sushi, this is «legit rolls, then a course of yummy friend things, then more legit rolls, sushi.» I am honesty really surprised this hasn’t become really public knowledge yet. It was SO quiet when I went in, and it was peak dinner hours. But basically, if you come in before 7:30, it is only £12.95, after that time £15.95. Either way, it is a win for affordable London sushi. Keyword affordable. Don’t come expecting Nobu, but do come hungry.

Discovering that Ginnan delivers on Sunday night was a revelation. My food arrived promptly and I was excited to tuck in. The spicy tuna maki was inoffensive but I prefer the spicy in my tuna to come from Sriracha as opposed to shichimi. My California handroll was fresh and delightful, one of the happiest parts of my meal! The edamame, sadly, arrived slightly overcooked. And the yaki soba I would not order again. A clumpy pile of oily, mostly flavourless noodles ain’t much fun! But the bi bim bap was the true winner of this delivered meal. Its authenticity made me think that the proprietors of Ginnan are likely Korean. Given this assumption, I will sway my next order from Ginnan in that direction.

Really delish Japanese resto near Exmouth Market! Comfy and stylish inside. Efficient service too. They do a buffet that’s yummily good value too. I need to go back to Ginnan — I haven’t been in quite awhile.

Ginnan serve great take-away sushi boxes — very filling and high quality. The restaurant does good lunches if you want to sit in, and there is always excellent service. Look out for coaches parked outside, however, because the restaurant is very popular with Japanese tour groups, and during these times the staff are rushed off their feet.
