Normally this is a great place to eat, a little on the noisy side but they have a good wine list and good food. This night(1st April) was a disaster; from the food quality, to the service, and food arriving how it was requested e.g. m steak was served bleu and when it was ‘re-cooked’ it arrived 15 mins. after we had all finished our meal. The management did work with us to resolve the issue but went over the top making me very uncomfortable. The manageress on duty did offer to follow up when I got back to NY, however, I lost the contact card she gave me. One of the only places you can book in the 02 before a show — we prefer it on a non-show night!

Gaucho at the O2 i simply love gaucho, food is always tasty, great atmosphere great cocktails something that really impressed me every single time about gaucho(@the O2, the one in mayfair piccadilly branch, london bridge, the one in farringdon the one in charlotte street, and the one in hamptead, so far all that I’ve been to) THEY do truly understand and master the art of service, you can tell their staff have been well trained. My experience is, you come out with a smile or literally they don’t let you go’! haha i know its Amazing! either by great food great service or if something is not at your standard, by saying its on the house madam or even better when they say would you like to order something else instead madam omg thats music to my ears, i always leave with a smile and thats why its on my top 10 restaurants in london!

What did I think of Gaucho before? A fancy food-chain restaurant that serves probably quite good food with overrated expensive wine. How wrong I was! Gaucho emphasizes Argentinian culture where food and wine and the passion for people forms an integral part. I was honoured to take part in an Argentinian wine fair for a preliminary preview of Gaucho’s Argentinian wine. What do I think of Gaucho after the event? No further convincing needed. I am looking forward to their full launch of Argentinian wines in October 2015 in all of their Gaucho restaurants. Prices starts from £11.50 for rose, red and white wine. Many are priced in the region of £19.00 — £25.00, £70.00++ for few prestige bottles and up to £100.00 for a bottle of Nicolas Catena Zapata. Magnum bottles range from £128.00 to Susana Balbo’s £398.00. Argentina’s sparkling wine are also available from £19.00. If you are lucky and happens to be dining while Phil Crozier is around, make sure you get a chance to speak to him and feel his passion for Argentinian wine.

I’ve been to this restaurant twice and had some very good steaks here. The waiters were very attentive to my requests(e.g. crispy fat on the sirloin). What spoilt the experience was the fact that we weren’t given any proper steak knives — imagine trying to cut into a prime steak with an ordinary knife, squishing all the juices out of it! When I confronted the waiter about this, he claimed that«our steaks are so tender, you don’t need a steak knife»! Of course, I insisted on a proper knife and got it right away. But this shouldn’t have been necessary — it’s just silly not to provide adequate cutlery in a restaurant of this calibre.

How do you say this place is absolutely wonderful… oh I just did. The service is fantastic from the moment you walk in they take your coat to the back private cloak room then they show you to the elevator, they even make sure they press the floor your table is booked on. Even though pressing an elevator button isn’t a big deal but the fact they do it for you is just fantastic. The moment the elevator doors open your greeted with smiles all round and your shown to your table. For those who are not sure what cuts of meats you would prefer or maybe your just not sure on the size then you will find your waiter bringing out all the cuts of meat on a chopping board then going through the pros and cons of each cut. It is like every waiter has was Doctor on the array of beef cuts to the point I couldn’t help but feel like I was a pro when it came to the different cuts as well. For the occasion, service, décor and quality of food it really did feel like money well spent.

Steak was good, but waiters pay no attention on customer is the only issue. We r expecting quality service here as well paid.

OK, I do not know what happened the night I visited Gaucho but the food unfortunately was shockingly below par… I have eaten at Gaucho’s a couple of times before, although admittedly not at the Greenwich branch, and each time me and my friends have had the most amazing delicious steak meal everrrr! From the bread and starter to dessert, it was«WOW» all the way… This time… I must admit I felt ripped off at paying £130 for two people without wine or dessert. In fact, I actually thought a M&S £10 meal deal was much more tasty and better value. We had starters — me and my partner thought they were ok, perfectly edible, but I must admit it didn’t blow me away. When the main course came, that’s when it went terribly downhill… My fillet steak was supposed to be medium, it was well done. It was a tad tough, and a bit bland to be honest. The accompanying side dishes of chips, sweet potato chips, mushrooms, and a couple of others which I can’t remember were not what I expected from Gaucho’s. The chips were soggy and cold, the mushrooms were a bit«blah» and lukewarm, and the sweet potato chips were… just ok. The strange thing was, nothing tasted fresh, it all had the appearance that they were reheated, but only to a lukewarm temperature. So in summary, the quality of the food was a huge let down — it was edible, but that’s it — just edible. For £130 I was expecting GREAT food. I was sorely disappointed on this visit, unfortunately. I don’t know what or how that happened, especially considering we were one of only two table in the restaurant at the time. The only consolation was the lovely staff who were warm and welcoming.

Took some good friends to the Gaucho Saturday evening and had a wonderful time. From the cocktails downstairs to the ambience of the restaurant upstairs nearly everything was perfect. Our waitress Pietra was extremely attentive without being obtrusive and on overhearing that it was our wedding anniversary whilst we toasted to a great evening came over with four glasses of very lovely champagne. The food as expected was out of this world. For starters we decided to share a selection so we got a variety of empanada’s and also ordered the scallop tiradito off the specials. This was basically as fresh as they come scallops in a gorgeous sauce accompanied by pomegranate seeds. The texture was a little bit strange to start with but the flavours were just exquisite. Very enjoyable! Onto the mains and although all four of us had been talking about the amazing ribeye they do which is marinated in nothing more than parsley, olive oil, garlic and lemon which I have attempted on more than one occasion to replicate yet have been unable to get just right we all decided that as we’d all tasted that previously we should try something different. On the suggestion of our waitress we plumped for the Gaucho sampler with some bearnaise and peppercorn sauce, chips, spinach, pumpkin humita and crushed potatoes with garlic. For our steaks we asked them to be cooked how the chef recommends as only he knows the exact cut he would be serving to us. We were not to be disappointed. The four different cuts of steak were out of this world and all four just melted in the mouth. In fact the rump which was served was so good we even argued over whether that was another fillet steak they had served by accident. The only one which could of possibly let the side down slightly was the sirloin as it was marginally tougher than the other three but that may have been because by the time we got to sampling that we were already very full up. So full up in fact that we left a tiny amount which on request was put in a doggy bag for my doggy as a treat when we got home. The steaks aside the highlight of the food was without a shadow of a doubt the pumpkin humita. It was a combination of mashed pumpkin and sweetcorn baked and served in a corn husk. It was a taste sensation which really has to be tried to be believed. Our choice of wine came from the fine wine list and once again we were not let down. We enjoyed two very smooth bottles of Humberto Canale Old Pinot Noir which complimented our food perfectly. My only gripe of the evening came with the wine though. On finishing our first bottle the waitress asked if she could start pouring the second bottle we had already ordered and on my friend saying yes she proceeded to pour it into the same glasses we was already using. Luckily the second bottle hadn’t been corked but the correct procedure even when having another bottle of the same wine should be new glasses and a new tester? Especially when each bottle cost over £50. That aside we did have a very fine evening indeed. I wouldn’t be able to make any comments on the desert menu however as we were all too full after the mains to even contemplate trying any out. Am already looking forward to eating there again. Happy eating London.

The food was great. The chap who served our lunch knew exactly what he was doing. We were served with very tender beef that almost melt in my mouth! I love Gaucho. I just do not fancy the music much as it is a mixture of trance and reggae, when I expected it to be calm and envigorating.

Gaucho looks like a good place to eat and the menu was equally appertising, but sadly we never got to be seated due to time constraints and didn’t want to miss the concert, but I’ve made a mental note to return as I really want to try this restaurant.

These guys really know how to cook a steak. OK so they can do other things but do you really come to a restaurant where you sit on cow hide seats and order the veggie option? That said the staff are fantastic very helpfully and friendly. Menus are very nice and they have a very extensive wine menu. Wines can be pricey, typically starting at about £25 a bottle but they are exceptional. Can’t praise them enough and the atmosphere here is as good as all the others. Come and enjoy ! Veggies need not apply :)

One place you don’t want to take your vegan friends to is Gaucho — purveyors of everything meaty, particularly Argentinean! With cowskin décor, crystal chandeliers and a high end menu that doesn’t spare the dineros, Gaucho delivers on promise with exceptional quality steaks and lamb, supported by an excellent wide budget wine list and focused table service from your own personal server. Apart from an online booking system that tries to corral you into a time of THEIR choice not yours(phone call to book is probably the best decision), this is a great all round place to eat. Allow 2 hours to enjoy three courses with wine & coffee and you’ll be Ok for the show. Would definitely go again.

It is worthwhile booking ahead, especially when there is an event on at the 02, but on this particular night; our second visit to this restaurant, there was not and so it was extremely quiet indeed. In fact, for about 15 minutes, we were the only diners in the restaurant. We booked ahead and they telephoned us to remind us of our booking, which was very good. We arrived on time and the gentleman on reception welcomed us and offered to take our coats. We refused because we were quite cold on this early February evening and wanted to warm up first. The gentleman took us up to our seat and informed us of who our waiter was to be. This level of care gives confidence to the diner that one will be well looked after and is another nice touch. The restaurant oozes decadence and sophistication with cow hide covered chairs, black walls, large mirrors on walls and ceilings, chandeliers and candlelight, attractive staff and is a must for those who want to dine with friends or even for a romantic meal for two although it can get noisy, it will still impress! The waiter offered drinks first and then allowed us enough time to look at the menu. When he returned, I commented that it was very cold in the restaurant. He agreed. I hoped it might warm up as they had just opened. It was only about 6pm. Yes, it was that quiet, which was a surprise to us as on an earlier visit, it was extremely busy, which is why we booked on this occasion. It was mid week though and as I said, there was no main event and we were there to see a film. As we waited for our meals to be served, I wrapped my coat tighter around myself and my husband, who fortunately was wearing a shirt and jumper and more sensibly dressed than I, put his jacket over his legs. By the end of the meal, we were extremely cold and I went to the bathroom to see if I could warm my hands up on the dryers there. Unfortunately for me, they had towels so, thinking on my feet, I decided to warm my hands up under the tap and that was when I discovered that there was no hot water either! We both had fillet steak. We shared the hand cut chips and spinach. The steak was cooked exactly to order and could not be faulted. It was very tender and succulent and simply wonderful. My husband’s was the same. He likes his well done and other chefs are inclined to cremate it but this was done beautifully. The chips were nice, as was the spinach but the coldness of the restaurant definitely made this dining experience far less pleasant overall and as well as us being cold, the food went cold very quickly too. In fact, the spinach went cold immediately and as I was finishing my steak, that was cold too. The waiter bought the dessert menu round but by this time, I was far too cold to contemplate a lovely slice of cheesecake or panacotta, which I love and so I opted for an Irish Coffee. This failed to warm me up also and was overly sweet and the coffee was tepid. We paid over £90.00 for a large fillet steak, a small fillet steak, one portion of chips, one portion of spinach, two lagers, one wine and an irish coffee. If you have starters and desert, you could expect to pay another £35.00 on top I suppose. On leaving, the gentleman on reception asked if we had enjoyed our meal and I replied that we had but that we were absolutely freezing and there was no hot water. He said he was sorry, it was broken and was being fixed and I replied that it didn’t help us. I really felt that staff didn’t really care for guest’s comfort; that all the politeness was superficial and just part of the training. Had they done so, they may have put in a little more effort to ensure that diners were warm and in the event of heating/hot water failure, closed the restaurant until it was repaired or at the very least, warned diners upon arrival and made arrangements for electric heaters to be brought in. The staff were obviously cold too, however and we noticed one member stood as close to the hot plates as she possibly could and was rubbing her hands and arms and stamping her feet and so I am sure it wasn’t pleasant for them either but they could at least move around to keep warm. We couldn’t but we quickly departed to visit the warm pub opposite. Given the coldness that night, I wished I had dined in the pub even if the food wasn’t nearly as good. Update: I emailed the restaurant today to complain and they telephoned my husband this afternoon. They were very apologetic and have refunded the cost of our meal. Additionally, they invited us to dine with them and have promised to look after us on our next visit, which we will look forward to because the food is very good.

The food was wonderful — and the bread to start was amazing — so much we had seconds and thirds — and the waiter was very helpful! The steak was amazing and very easy to eat — this is definitely not the cheapest place to eat but certainly the best in the venue. Would I recommend it? Definitely for a special event, well worth it

When you arrive in to the Gaucho you are greeted with a low lit dining room with multiple chandliers and cow hide seats. The décor is modern yet refind. The is a glass elevator shaft going through the three floors of the venue, which has an amazing glass sculpture cascading through it. I was there for a works summer do so we had a pre-decided menu ready for us. But I do have to say that the service was excellent and the food was very good also. The steak I had was cooked perfectly and t he beef was of good quality. I would deffinately go back to this restautant and see what the rest of the food is like and what it is like when it hasn’t been hired out. All in all I was very pleased with this venue

The new Gaucho restaurant is quite different to the existing ones. More in keeping with the musical, theatrical, buzzing atmosphere of the O2 in general, Gaucho has three floors of decadent Argentine sophistication to offer. The top floor is a dazzling, glitzy affair, quite unlike all the dark, sultry, sexy interiors elsewhere in the restaurant and in all the others. My comments on Gaucho in Swallow Street summarise my feelings towards the general service and food at this restaurant, but this one surpasses the others in terms of style, size and glamour. The ground floor bar is perfect for sipping on one of their many cocktails, the 1st floor is a busy, bustling and exciting restaurant, and the top floor is a sumptuous events space which looks like it would be quite versatile for parties of different sizes. I think I prefer the quieter, more intimate atmosphere of Hampstead or City Gaucho, but if you get a chance to hire the Private Dining room here, it’s the best of all of them! Also, I haven’t tried one yet, but I’ve seen them selling chic little paper cones of hot food at the IndigO2 Arena(a smaller version of the main arena space where they put on more intimate gigs and shows). I’ll report back when I get my hands on one.
