Not out of the world fish and chips. But it was really decent and probably the best I ever had. Lots of seats during noon and servers are friendly and laid back! :)

8÷30÷14: This is such a late review! So, we came across Garfunkels and we were extremely hungry! Plenty of room to sit. Servers were friendly. I have noticed that servers in Europe are a lot more laid back compared to the U.S. at first it was weird but I learned to just enjoy my meals without hurrying. You can’t ever go wrong with Garfunkels. It was a great experience. This location was very clean and friendly. Awesome of choices in their menu and affordable.

Went for pre-theatre dinner, and I quite liked it. I ordered the spaghetti with blue cheese and vegetables — it was good, and the portions were adequate too. My favourite part about this restaurant was the service. The staff were very friendly and prompt — one of the best experiences I’ve had in terms of service. As many have already mentioned, this is a chain with a diner-type of feel, so come if you’re looking for a casual, down to earth ambience. All in all, a good experience.

One experience so who really knows. I know this is a chain but after 6 days and countless miles of everything wonderful about London I still hadn’t had fish and chips. Now don’t roll your eyes that I went to a chain… I was so tired and this was right by my hotel… and I gotta say whatever spice mix is in that batter… loved it, double yum. I do like my chips crispier though but that’s just me.

Nette Bedienung, leckeres Essen! Genau das was ich erwartet habe! Kleine Schwächen beim Inventar! Die Preise sind für das Zentrum von London normal!

Why all the haters? I had a huge breakfast that was delicious ! The two breakfast sausages were the size of Italian sausages and tasty! The bread was thick sliced and fresh too! I’m going back today!

Free wifi! Good location and considering people were queuing to get into most of the restaurants in the area this one you could walk in and get a table! The waitress was really friendly and very patient! There’s music playing in the background and the seats are pretty comfy! The food service didn’t take that long and I would come back again!

It’s a popular chain establishment, but I don’t think you can really go wrong with Garfunkel’s. If you’re looking to tentatively try some British favorites without breaking the bank on a specialty place, I’d say this is a good place to go. I had their Garfunkel’s Breakfast — which, to someone who normally avoids breakfast diners like Denny’s or IHOP in the States — was a blessing. The food is of good quality for a chain — it’s obvious to see that items are mass-produced and/or sent in packages to each franchise, but the preparation is good and the cooks perform their functions well. Service at this venue was also good — my server was attentive and came by often to check on whether I needed more refills of my cappucino(free refills if bought with a 5.95GBP breakfast deal)! No complaints! It’s a great place to go if on a budget or a time crunch.

right around Trafalgar Square, this British chain restaurant seemed like a good place to try British food for two weary travelers. And they had free WiFi =D I got a beef pot pie(of sorts) which was decent. The gf ordered salmon cakes which were pretty good too. Service was good. No real complaints except a regret that I should have just ordered more fish & chips =P

Not impressed. We had a long day and just wanted something quick to eat and literally thought kfc(yes, even on vacation), but husband wanted fish & chips so we got some to-go. It was okay(came with mashed peas which I thought was weird). I got the pie & mash which was mediocre. If you’ve read any of my other reviews, I almost always say good things about potatoes but I guess even potatoes won’t do the dish any justice. It wasn’t distinguishing, but still disappointing nonetheless. Chilli poppers were good and came with salsa that tasted like it came from a jar – the one you dip with your Doritos while watching American football or something. Oh, and I would come back to Denny’s, however, my husband will really have to really be convincing if he wants me to eat here again… And I mean real magical type of convincing, so it’s hardly comparable to Denny’s(which I would rate three. five stars for the type of food).

We ate here on our first night in London, primarily as it was two doors down from our hotel and we were too jet-lagged to be adventurous. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. My burger seemed somewhat pre-fab. My daughter’s meatballs in her spaghetti had what she described as an ‘Asian vibe’. I don’t recall what my wife got. I wouldn’t actively avoid this place, but with all the other choices available in London, I doubt I’d go back.

Ate here on a busy Sat. evening in December. The other reviewers have summed it up nicely. This place feels like a Denny’s, and it’s probably best for people who are traveling with a family of 4 or more. The place is fairly spacious and the location is great. The service was good too. I ordered fish & chips, and while it was edible, the fish tasted like the kind you get in the frozen food section of the supermarket. My wife got a cheeseburger, which was seasoned okay, but the meat was closer in consistency to ground turkey. Fries were good.

I have to admit I don’t like chain restaurants, and I got dragged to this one for a quick bite. It reminded me of Denny’s, a place I won’t eat at. Had a burger, which was dry but somewhat palatable with the ketchup/relish mix on top. My companions were not too fond of their food either, and service was quite slow. I’d say that if one has kids, this could be ok, but I wouldn’t bring my kids here. The second star is only because the server was very friendly, but it’s not a good restaurant for people who actually like food.

Alright, let me just say this: There are a lot of really cool things about the United Kingdom, especially London. The history, the architecture, the diversity, the attractions, a lot of cool things. The food is not one of them. I hate to say it, but that stereotype about England having horrible food is kind of true. Unless it’s an upscale restaurant, most of the average diners and cafes on the street are not that great. I’d take a Sonic above a Pret-a-Manger any day, sorry guys. However, I remember Garfunkel’s, at least this location(which I believe is the one right by Trafalgar Square), as being above average. Their shepherd’s pie was tasty, as were the chips(fries). They had a decent beer selection, and seating was nice inside and on the sidewalk. Their prices weren’t too bad, although keep in mind this is London and buying a soda will cost you an arm and a leg.

For a chain with more outlets all over London than i can count you would think it would be at least edible. We popped in for breakfast and not only was the food not edible the poor server was so overwhelmed I felt awful for him. There were other servers but ours seemed to have a disproportionate amount of the dining room and seemed truly stressed. My water glass was filthy, the eggs just gross and I really only ate my toast. My kids ate the hash browns and I’m not sure my hubby ate any of his. On subsequent trips by this particular location there are always diners in there but I have been tempted to tell people we have seen looking at the menu to keep walking!!!

Ugh, horrible. I got a chicken caesar wrap which I could have made better myself. There was too much dressing, and the lettuce was old. My mom got fish and chips which was decent, but the fish wasn’t very fresh and the chips were just warm. My recommendation would be to grab a sandwich at Pret a Manger around the corner!

I’m normally not big on chain restaurants… But when you’re in a hurry and it’s close, it can usually help in a pinch. Why then, did this Garfunkels have no chips, no sour cream, and no chicken when my partner and I decided to stop in. That should have been our cue to leave, but no we stayed… My partner had a cheeseburger with mashed potatoes and I had Country Pie. They were okay, nothing to rave about. About halfway through I wished we had gone elsewhere.

Nothing too spectacular, general fare for a chain restaurant; soggy chips and those sh*y little plastic containers you get dips in. The waitresses weren’t the most attentive but in fairness to them they seemed a bit understaffed. Good for hangover comfort food but not much else!

Die Menuauswahl reicht von Pasta über Burger zu Fish&Chips und von Steaks via Pizza zu Omeletten. So findet sicher jeder was.
