I came here a several times and I always ordered the same full breakfast. As usual, I always judge by their service first(as I was also in the business). Staff here are generally nice except for the older lady. She always gave me an unfriendly look(didn’t even bother to look at me) when I approached her, trying to push me to other staffs while being surprisingly nice to others. Well maybe I’m really ugly… or she thinks I’m interested in pursuing her… Anyways… The breakfast and coffee are really good but they can be inconsistent. Some days they gave me a full portion for the breakfast, while some other days… Mushroom cut into half… Only served me half the sausage… And my friend was jokingly saying maybe they have large or small breakfast to opt for. But nope. Same price guys. And I will not want to go there anymore.

wonderful service and delicious, obviously very fresh foods usually love ham in my omelette but had the pesto one and it was objectively one of the best omelettes I’ve ever had

So I had an hour in between two meetings and I was starving! Yes I could have grabbed a salt beef bagel which whenever I’m on Brick Lane is the norm BUT I wanted eggs and I’m so glad a did! I want to my trusty Unilocal app and there waiting was F&E a 2 minute walk away, bingo! I walked in and grabbed a table with ease. My first thoughts were ‘how cute’. It’s a lovely likle café, perfect for meetings(which many were having), perfect for working(which many were doing) and perfect for morning breakfast dates(which I was definitely listening in on — shhh). I scanned the menu and opted for the scrambled eggs with bacon on sour dough toast. I toddled up to counter and was greeted with the very eccentric Italian(I think) owner — he did by pass me to talk to a friend of his behind me for a couple minutes which was slightly irritating but hey he’s only human and I know he didn’t mean offence so… He continued to circulate the room, chatting to people as they came in and the regulars. It was nice — reminded me of my local café at home… smiles. Now to the food — the eggs were perfect. Creamy, buttery and just scrummy. The bacon was crispy, it was streaky bacon which I wouldn’t usually opt for but it went down well. And the toast was toasty :) I had a really pleasant little hour break and would definitely go back to people/owner watch and munch on some eggs. Tips: the cakes looks amazing AND there’s a Unilocal offer on at the minute — free coffee with a cake. Winning!

The perfect Shoreditch Sunday lunch! Fresh amazing food, lovely homely atmosphere. It gets very busy so to avoid disappointment opt for a early or late lunch! Try also their take away salads and remember you don’t a thing about desserts until you have tried their courgette cake!

The food at any point of the day is divine. Salads have never been so fun. As we speak having a moist flavorful Choco coconut cake #drool. Staff are so sweet, except for the scary Italian man.

Visiting friends, we wandered into this place for lunch. So damn good we would consider moving to the UK. Ok, that’s not likely, but the place really is great. It would be well worth the effort to check it out!

Best eggs I have had in a long time. From tuscany apparently. Cooked perfectly, all orange and runny and flavoursome in the middle. Their hollandaise was clearly made fresh on site and a little bit goes a long, delicious way. The rest of the breakfast menu is very delicious sounding and they have a lot of veg side bits incorporated into the dishes. They also home make their beans. None of the breakfasts are too bread heavy but the bread they do get is really tasty sour dough and freshly baked. They make a good cup too. And flat whites are the normal size not that teenie, tiny child size. They have an extensive range of wines for lunch time booze hits and a big range of non alcoholic drinks for those who save their boozing til apres 5pm. On their counter, there is the most amazing looking selection of croissants with so many tempting fillings. And they have some very wholesome, tasty looking salads there on offer. The kind of salads that will actually fill you. Highly recommended. And the best thing: they open at a very sensible time of 8am mid week. Get there pre 11am. If you have to wait it is worth it.

This is a great place for lunch. You can choose from some of the nicest-looking salads in town(of course Ottolenghi’s are still better). Good seating and a nice light atmospheric space. Great wines and desserts abound and are quite tempting. Definitely a place to pop into if you are in the hood.

Redchuch Street is my favorite street in Shoreditch and Franze & Evans is one of my favorite spots for brunch and lunch on the street. They have quite a few freshly made salad presented nicely in the case, and very often they are made with healthy ingredients like kale, avocado, lentil etc. Vegetarians or vegans love this place. Beside salads, you can also get made to order dishes, like burger and pasta. For brunch, their offer all sorts of egg dishes, and I highly recommend the Franze & Evans breakfast. What I find most irresistible are those cakes, cupcakes and pies on the counter top. They looks so enticingly beautiful and they stare you right in the eye. I have to force myself not to look after every time I order my food. I did go there for tea and cake one afternoon and I had the Lemon and Yogurt cake. OMG, that was great! This is a wonderfully casual neighborhood spot for a nice and healthy lunch or full indulgence of your sweet tooth.

I went here for coffee since they talk so well about it, and no doubt the coffee is good, but their service/way of treating a customer was emotionless and blunt. Liked my drink but unhappy with the experience.

F & E is one of those places that could have the worst service in the world, and I would still go because I love the food and location. I’ll take a star off because service is hit or miss(maybe I expect too much as an American, but usually a simple, friendly acknowledgement will satisfy most customers). Despite this, the food is always delicious(love the salads and desserts), and it’s a lovely café with a great vibe.

Still my favourite, despite serious competition from Maison Trois Garcons just down the road. They have a large selection of the most delicious salads — two price levels for top and bottom shelf choices. Tried one of the quiches the other day which was also delicious. It’s the sort of food I wish I could eat every day — your five a day beautifully presented as a healthy treat! Today’s croissant was a bit of a let-down though — just as rubbery and greasy as anywhere else, definitely not home made.

This is sooooo long overdue. Like so long ago, the friend I came with has returned to his motherland. We came here for like a lazy brunch, MAINLY for the matcha porridge because it sounded amazing. It was not amazing, at least not for me. I felt the oats were cooked down TOO much, probably from a big pot but I don’t know. Just really disappointed that it didn’t have that green tea kick. Although my friend said his was quite good. So maybe I had a cold that day and couldn’t taste anything! Coffee was good, not spectacular. But definitely better coffee places around shoreditch.

We were in town for a conference we were hosting and guided by positive reviews from Unilocal placed a large catering order for 3 meals with Franzè & Evans. We could not have been happier with the food– we found it reasonably priced, healthy, fresh and delicious. Working with Kerry to come up with a menu that fit our goals was easy and enjoyable and the lunch we grabbed while in the shop to discuss the catering order was divine– quite possibly the best hamburger I’ve ever had. If I lived in London this would be a weekly staple for lunch and coffee for me.

Nous nous sommes arrêtées dans cette mignonne petite deli sur Shoredtich pour un petit dej/brunch, pas donné donné(environ 15 livres par tête) Le service est sympa, il y a de grandes tables avec des bancs, parfait pour les groupes!

Right… so what’s with this overpriced salad place everyone is raving about. Their pastries/desserts do look good(and perhaps affordable…) but to sit down and eat cous cous or roasted pepper for more than £7– with the least generous portions, or paying £8 for pasta? Um, overpriced east london menu, no thank you. But if you like east london and hipster vibe and emptying out your wallet, this place it is. Though their coffee’s not too bad. Just sayin’.

I was so excited to find this place and on entering my eyes nearly popped out of my head at the yummy deli style food. Looked so cosy too. Unfortunately, the rest was down hill. I’ve been here twice. The first time with a friend for a coffee. We were told to leave as we had only ordered two coffees each in an hour. When we looked a bit shocked that the aggressive nature, he told us «I’m trying to run a business here!» The second time I got a takeaway lunch. I was shocked at how pricey it was for the portion I got! The only reason Im giving it two stars at all is the food was actually quite nice. All in all, overpriced, mediocre coffee and grumpy staff. For me, not worth it for a relaxing coffee/brunch. There are sooo many nicer places in Shoreditch where you will be greeted with a smile.

A swanky beef burger in a hipster part of town, though I don’t know if Londoners use the term ‘hipster’. Their take on the burger was a unique experience to this American tongue. The atmosphere is eccentric and the menu eclectic. The service is adequate for what it is.

I stood in front of the salad case for a full five minutes, entranced by the colorful salads and meltedy lasagna on display. However the real treat was not only my scrumptious lunch but also the parade of people coming through for lunch or a coffee or to simple blow an air-kiss to the flamboyant Italian owner. In fact I think the entire staff my have been Italian or at least somewhat versant in the language. At his suggestion I took the salmon quiche and salad combo, it was perfect. The quiche was fluffy and light and salmon was fresh and not overwhelming. The salad was this amazing crispy mix of kale, sweet snap peas, green beans and sesame spices, it was super fresh and gave me that boost of green one needs after too many monochromatic meals. I spent a week exploring the East End and this stop was one of the hight lights… GO!

This place is awesome. The menu is pretty comprehensive, plus they have an amazing choice of salads and cakes on display. We went for a late Sunday breakfast, so I decided on the ‘Trecolore’ which is with poached eggs, smoked salmon, spinach, crispy prosciutto and served on sourdough bread — all covered with the most delicious Hollandaise sauce. The produce is clearly of the best quality. The freshest of eggs, cooked to perfection. The coffee is fantastic. Rich, tasty and strong(warning: very strong). Two sips and I was in need of a glass of water to stave off the jitters. Franze and Evans is not cheap — £9.50 for the«Trecolore»(plus a side of mushrooms — which is two mushrooms for £1.50). BUT I would say it is worth the additional premium, as it was excellent quality. £50 for between four friends. Service pretty relaxed — you get left to it. They pack people in, but it was a Sunday at 12:30 so I’m guessing it’s not always so busy. We had to share a table with others, but that’s not a problem for me. Look forward to trying the salads and cakes on my next visit. They look incredible.

= Cool

The carrot and courgette cupcake with cream cheese icing here changed my life. This is not hyperbole. The café itself is simple and unassuming. But the cake. Oh, the homemade cake… CAKE. CAke. cake. cake
