This quaint little coffee shop is right on the main drag of Berwick street. A great location but a great use of the small space as well. Upon entering, you see a wooden slab of delicious treats that rotate daily, among the constants are the«cruffin» and their sourdough bread. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and put in your order quickly whether you’re getting take out or sitting in. They are also open to folks working in-house for a few hours if it isn’t busy and seating doesn’t become an issue. Prices are incredibly reasonable for tea and espresso-based drinks. In the heart of Soho, many places can charge 3+ pounds for a simple cappuccino, but Foxcroft’s prices are well below this mark. Their English Breakfast loose-leaf tea is one of the best varieties I’ve ever had. It’s sweet and lacks the astringent bite some other basic breakfast teas have. Their cappuccinos are well done too whether having in or taking out. The right amount of milk and espresso make for one well-balanced drink. Food options available as well such as sammies and flat breads. The venue space is tiny and there can be a bit of a line during rush hours, but if you get a chance to sit inside, the acoustics are great so it isn’t too noisy, and there is a small counter of bar seating for individuals wanting to pop in for a quick drink and pop out.

Decided to come here after reading tons of glowing reviews on the Internet about the good coffee & tea and its work/study conducive atmosphere. And the fact that it opens until late. Got a very hipster vibe as I walked in: wooden tables, steel-grey chairs, minimalist design etc. So far so good. Music seemed too loud to be conducive for chatting let alone working/studying but I liked the choice so it was alright to me. It was only after sitting down and ordering a vanilla chai and brownie truffle that I realised that 1) there were no plug-points to be seen anywhere; 2) there is absolutely no WiFi(according to a waitress, there never was WiFi). The tea and brownie was nice, I will admit. But there are plenty of other places in Berwick market that can serve the same at a cheaper price. Why is this place touted as a good working/study café? Has the café’s concept changed recently? Info on Unilocal should be updated to reflect that. I definitely felt a bit cheated coming in here

I’m so torn on the place. As a café, you should have great coffee, and here it is bitter, acidic, and not worth even finishing. But their food is interesting and nice, if a little on the pricey side. I’ve landed on three stars, though I really think this place could be a four or even five star spot should they care to change a few things. But supply and demand, I think, will forever prop up this three-star performance because of where they are and the feel that they offer. It feels like a hip place, almost straight out of Brooklyn, and feeling small enough to be your own special place because most just see the top room of the place and not the downstairs seating. The food, albeit unique, is quite pricey for what it offers. A spoonful of avo mash, a cool idea, is about £3.5 or so, tastes like simply a potato-ey guacamole, and is actually served on just one rounded spoon. That’s right, £3.5 for a SPOONFUL of avo mash! For some redeeming factors here. The egg dishes hold their own against most brunch places. The stuffed muffins(I think they call them cri-muffins or something, a cross between croissants and muffins) are excellent if not a touch over-sugared. The interior is quite cool, and their renovations to all brick exterior will make it much nicer and further along the Brooklyn spectrum to absolute hipster joint. Unfortunately, however, I have heard nothing of those renovation plans including a worthwhile espresso machine, a new bean supplier, or legitimately-sized portions for many of their dishes.

This place is touted as an excellent study spot on more than one internet list, and I’m not sure why. It’s in Berwick Market, and there are stalls in the market that serve far superior coffee(someone handed me a free sample right as I was about to enter F&G, the coffee was far, far better than what I actually had inside F&G). There isn’t a whole lot of seating, though there are certainly much smaller and much busier cafes in London; I arrived around noon and found seating immediately. They’re famous for their sourdough pizzas, which are apparently not available for lunch, as I found out when attempting to order. Instead I wound up ordering their sourdough toast(which is meant to come with homemade preserves) and a side of avocado mash; my order was sent to the kitchen with a specification: no preserves. When it came out, there was avocado mash on two soup spoons, toasted sourdough, and no preserves. I assumed that they had substituted the mash for the preserves in the order, but when the bill came, it was all listed separately, and I was made to pay for the lot, even though I’d never said I didn’t want preserves. Speaking with the staff wasn’t particularly beneficial, and they weren’t particularly welcoming or helpful. Also, the café doesn’t have any wifi available, so maybe not so great if you need to look anything up or download any study materials. Bring all your papers. And bring ear plugs, too: the music is quite a bit louder than you’d expect in a normal café, so much so that my server had to have me repeat myself more than once whenever I spoke to her(and the order was still wrong, as it turns out). Skip this place entirely, but if you’re in the area, so stop by the Berwick market, which is small and less intense than london’s other markets, but full of good food and good coffee.

Fiiiive star this time even though we had to wait a while to get a seat. I have tried to come back in to this place a few times since brunch a month or so ago, including bringing friends to show it off however it is quite hard to get a table for more than 2 on a weekend as it is so busy. Yesterday we got lucky and got a seat at the back to have some lunch. We ordered a pork belly burger which was beautifully cooked, served in a yummy briochesque bun with coleslaw and a little side salad with lovely crispy onions on top along with truffled mushrooms, poached eggs and toast which was also cooked to perfection(lovely yolks). They also have a good selection of beer and serve a mean mimosa along with their coffee which was so good we bought some of their beans to try recreate at home! To finish off we shared one of their chocolate cruffins(croissant/muffin hybrid) which was also fab! A lovely bakery, serving their amazing baked goods along with using these in delicious lunch dishes.

Casual little coffee/tea/café in the SoHo area of London. A couple of friends and I stopped in here on an afternoon after we were a little«touristed» out. We sat here for a couple hours, sipping on tea. I had the vanilla chai and it was sooo yummy. The scone and jam were a perfect afternoon snack too. The ambience is casual and quiet. Lots of people came in and out between the 2−4PM timeframe we were there. Ps. We stopped in here because of the good Unilocal reviews, so you should too if you are looking for a casual place to take a rest.

We went here for an afternoon snack and I got tea and my friend got a glass of wine and we each got a scone. The scones were sitting out with other pastries but the waitress heated them up after we ordered. It was served with house-made orange jam, which I liked but my friend didn’t. After the scone was heated up it was okay but very crumbly. The tea and wine were fine but the scones left us unimpressed. Down stairs was part of the kitchen and no longer a seating area. The toilets were well kept. I would go back for tea, but not for a scone. But the waitstaff was very attentive and friendly.

This is usually my second option for coffee if Flat White up the road is busy(only because of FW loyalty) F&G is bigger with seating upstairs and downstairs. The coffee is great and they have a nice selection of counter food as well as a menu of tasty treats if you’ve got time for a sit down. The service there is also awesome, staff are genuinely friendy.

Best coffee in Central London, as far as I’m concerned. I used to get coffee for clients there when I worked as a runner and their eyes would always light up when I told them it was from Foxcroft. The mostly Antipodean café staff are always really friendly and chatty. It gets quite busy at lunchtime and there is a bit of a wait but trust me, it’s worth it. Their salads and cakes are also freshly made and to die for. Can’t recommend it enough!

I think this is one of my favourite places to grab a cappuccino. And the staff are really friendly. I’ve come here multiple times in the last month it’s so good. Nothing much to shout about in terms of space though but worth it for coffee and great service.

I’ve got to be honest, I mostly go here for a quick coffee and delicious cake. I’m not a massive fan of the downstairs seating as there is no natural light, but then again, it has a certain speakeasy-style charm. The décor is fun, the coffee is some of the best in London(if you like strong, antipodeon-style coffee) and the cakes are to die for! The cruffins are a must try! I’m keen to check out the Whitechapel and Dalston branches soon as well. This place is a staple on our central coffee list.

Found this spot on Unilocal and was weary of all the reviews about the lines/wait. We went at 9am on a Sunday and had no issue. They had just opened and oddly were out of the two things we wanted… black rice porridge, bloody mary… but we made due with some very worthy back up options. Had to try a cruffin(lemon curd and honeycomb) and the lovely hazelnut cake, and my friend got the perfectly poached eggs on sourdough with their kasundi sauce(eggplant, tomato and decent amount of spice)…all was good and freshly prepared. Nice, hipster spot with a quiet crowd despite the fairly-loud music… but actually a nice atmosphere. Friendly service and an overall good way to start the morning.

It is an interesting place that can rival The Breakfast Club and in a very convenient location. Very good quality food and a good menu selection. Tough choice in deciding what to eat. Ordered almost everything haha. Was multiple burps after that. Wow!

Foxcroft and Ginger sounded and looked so promising. Oh, so promising. Unfortunately, fantastic location and adorable décor did not make up for a sorely disappointing visit, and I haven’t been back since my first visit in 2012. That said, because it’s been a while, I can’t go too much into detail what the experience was like. What I do remember, though, is that the flat white was extremely milky, and, to me, therefore more tasteless. While I understand that flat whites are supposed to milky, I have had some delicious creamy flat whites elsewhere, and the ones from Foxcroft and Ginger just didn’t cut it. As much as I wanted to like the place, I really just couldn’t. Maybe one day I’ll give it another try, or try out the one in Whitechapel, but at the moment, I’m not in a rush with all the other stellar shops in the area.

They make great coffee, they’re nice people and there’s lots of places to sit(more seating downstairs). Also — tap water you can grab from the side — makes this an all round easy, comfortable and tasty coffee experience. Haven’t tried the food so can’t comment but was a bit surprised by some of the negative comments on here because I had a great time.

I really wanted to give them more, they flitted between *** and **** all the time we were there. The tea was lovely, as was my croissant, it was comfy but a little cramped. We were sat on the end next to the counter, and I just kept feeling like I was in the way! A little more filling would have made my lemon curd cruffin an absolute delight, and I was very appreciative that there were only two ladies working on a bank holiday when they seemed like they wanted to be doing other things, but service could have been faster, it was nice that we had time to chat, but if it hadn’t have been one of my besties, we could have run out of things to talk about. Plus a little pet hate when two tables pushed infront of me when I thought it would be quicker to go to the counter– and there was no «oh, I’m sorry sir, she was here first» I will come back when it’s not a bank holiday sometime and I’m sure it will be wonderful.

Didn’t like this place at all. The staff like others mention are disinterested and pretty much do the bare minimum to make your experience a good once. You pretty much have to wait tables yourself when it comes to getting small things like table water as they’ll promptly forget your order. I ordered the traditional breakfast and received sausages that were too pink for my liking. I mentioned this to the staff who reacted as if I’d commited some sort of sin. After much discussion they agreed to ask the chef recommendations. Afterward, coming back and telling me that the sausages were fine. I said I was still not comfortable and they relunctantly said they’d cook them further. Well it looks like that request was probably ignored as what I did get was the same dish back with sausages either cooked to exactly the same rarity or the same sausages, and who knows what else. I reluctantly ate it and will mention whilst I did not get sick, I don’t think my request was unreasonable. They cook sausages rare here, I like them at least medium to well done… Additionally I was with veggies who asked if they could substitute items of meat for other. The response was just poor. No, the items couldn’t be switched out, but they could be ordered as additional sides. I hate this behaviour. They did this at Shake Shack when they first opened, and thankfully they have changed policy(within reason) Finally I’d ordered a Mocha, and it was one of the worst. No taste of chocolate. Served in a tiny glass. I felt scammed. It was like paying for a mocha and only receiving a shot of espresso. In all, this place is for you if you like being in a trendy hipster shack and treated like dirt. There was one nice member of staff that was bubbly and arrived toward the end of our time there, but the rest of the staff were just pretentious and unskilled. I mean, why should you have to ask for butter when one of the dishes you’ve ordered is toast. I mean weatherspoons can for a fraction of the price give you everything you expect. Why not this overpriced establishment? Will never come here again and will steer people well clear if asked my opinion.

This is a decent place for cheap food. But not amazing. Brunch menu looked good but I was in a savoury mood and everything was sweet. My girlfriend got french toast with ham and cheese and only ate half as it was far too sweet. I had the duck burger. It was nice and for £6.50 very reasonable. It was also one of the only things I really fancied. I wanted an aero press(in their menu, which was essentially a printout) but apparently they don’t do that anymore. Again, it’s a print out. The coffees took a long time to come and we got someone else’s by accident at first. In general I would go here again with people visiting London if we were in the area and I wanted to seem like I know places to go. But I wouldn’t go again in general for lunch. Probably would go for brunch if I was in a sweet mood. Menu was overly complicated and didn’t appeal to me too much… Service was ok to poor. Prices were fair. Drop in, look at the menu. Don’t expect to be blown away. Or even necessarily fancy anything on it.

I could have walked somewhere else but starving as I was and the proximity to my laptop repair shop, I chose to stop here. There are many pros to this place: wifi, nice ambience, downstairs area to work, decent service, but there are also some cons that made me decide to go with 3 stars instead of 4. I felt the price of my coffee and scone was not justified by the quality. The coffee was just decent and the scone was way too dry. And again for the price I only got one small scone. At least there was jam and butter. If you’re in the area it’s not a bad place to go but there are much better places not too far away.

The food and coffee here are truly amazing. The coffee is rich, smooth and with a hint of cinnamon leaves a great slightly sweet aftertaste. Also had the French toast, which is great but a little bready, but the kimchi chicken burger is one of the best chicken burgers I’ve ever eaten — a definite recommendation!

Good spot in Soho to get a quick bite or coffee. Ordered the smoked salmon on sourdough. I got a couple pieces of salmon that appeared at first to me a nice amount and serving, but it was an optical illusion from the amount of greens and bread there was. All together, it was good, just not much salmon. But what was great was the bread. The sourdough bread was really good. All breads made in-house. The person staffing the guests who walk in was weird, in my opinion. She would say the place was full and gave us a face like, See ya later. There was no offer to wait or didn’t tell us how long the wait would be. It was a closed end statement the way she said it and looked at us. So we told her we’d wait… not that hard. The other servers were super nice… slow at getting the bill when requested 3 times, but nice.

Finden tut man also bestimmt was.

Totalmente de place to be.
