Lots of hype around this place but first time I have ventured in as it was the only place open and needed a wee plus we were peckish. Bit pricey to be honest but you can have any toppings on your burger so I guess you can get your monies worth if you want. Burgers were actually really lovely but didn’t look as appetising. Love that everything is freshly made to order. But… Hold the presses… Best Banana milkshake EVER… It actually tastes of banana which is rare! Good find for late nights in west end!

I like the place. Almost just like the state side ones. Great Cajun fries. Great burgers. I want to try the shakes. Very busy. Always a line of people, but good food.

Overpriced and overhyped. Walking into the restaurant and looking around you, you see so many reviews on the wall that you would think you are walking into a religious cult, not a restaurant. The burgers we had were extremely ordinary, nothing more special than Burger King and certainly nothing you could easily create at home. My girlfriend paid £8.75 for a cheeseburger with bacon and £4 for fries. I paid £6.75 for a hamburger. For this price, I was expecting a fine quality product, well cooked and served. The burger was of a poor quality, the plastic cheese and bun were the same you could get in sainsburys or anywhere, the bacon as tasteless and dry. The food was served in cheap packaging. The food itself was mediocre, but I have given it a 1 star review because of the price– for the same price I could have had a sit down meal in a pub, served to me. Wetherspoons gourmet burgers are significantly better. If you want a good quality burger, go to a good London pub(there are endless) or Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Byron etc. If you want a mediocre run of the mill burger, go to Burger King or Wetherspoons.

Most overrated place ever… I kept seeing long queues outside this place for ages and I really wanted to see what all the hype was about. There’s 3 main burger options and then you add all the toppings you like to customise your burger. While my boyfriend asked for all of the toppings I asked for the plain bacon cheeseburger as I wanted something simple. I obviously tried both options and they were equally disappointing. My boyfriend’s burger was juicier than mine for to the peppers and onions that made it taste more fresh, while mine was a mass of meat and plastic-y cheese that I can easily dub ‘the artery clogger’ because it felt like I’d need a double bypass after eating it. Not to mention that the bacon was bone dry and crunchy, borderline burnt to a crisp and breaking in crumbs when you bit into it. Honestly worst bacon I’ve ever tried. To be honest the variety of toppings was very underwhelming as the choices were something you expect from a basic burger(mayo, onions, tomatoes etc). With gourmet burgers in your average pub offering avocado, egg or pulled pork and even your local spoons burger coming with onion rings, Five Guys is really not bringing anything new to the table. The skin on chips were enough to vaguely justify the £4 and they were decent so I was happy with them. However, my highlight was getting free pints of water which on its own says a lot about what this place has to offer. This place is a glorified Mc Donald’s with pretty much the same quality as far as flavour or texture are concerned and five times the price to fool you int thinking it’s a real restaurant. I do not intend to go back there again as it was a complete waste of money to eat something basic and unhealthy.

We had a quick bite here for lunch, the queue was long, but the service was fast so we did not have to wait long. I like the concept where we could custom our hot dog with whatever toppings we liked, I also ordered a regular fries. After ordering they give you a number and you wait for your number to get call when you food is ready for pick up. At the pick-up area you could see the activity in the kitchen and it was crazy, the staff was working very fast. The dog itself was ok, but the fries for me was a winner, I had shake shack a day prior to this and compared to their fries Five guys win on this one. It was crispy and tasteful, just enough amount of salt. I want to give praise to the cleaning man who was in charge Wednesday lunchtime, he was efficient and the eating area was very clean. Next time I will definitely try the burger and come more hungry in order to try out more of their menu.

After successfully convincing my colleagues to have a team lunch at Five Guys, we strolled over to the one on Argyll Street. The queue was long, but the wait short, with a waiter giving us menus as we join the queue so we can immediately order when we get to the cashier. With 15 different toppings to choose from, it gives you the chance to be creative!(Or be boring and go all the way, which adds mayo, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onion, grilled mushrooms). The standard is two patties(go for the«little» burgers if you just want the one), which with all the toppings makes the burgers quite filling. The milkshake choice is also very rich(like the milkshakes), the guy at the till suggested the salted caramel/oreo 50⁄50 mix, which was awesome! One can add bacon(yes bacon!) to the shakes. The fries, even plain without any salt, are delicious — thick, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Mmmmmm The dining space downstairs is roomy, and could fit our party of 8. There are straws and ketchup dispensers just like a standard American diner, with cool facts about five guys decorating the walls. Overall the dining area is clean and has a nice modern décor. The burgers themselves were not like the gourmet burger shops, but then again they’re not supposed to be. This is fast food with variety at its best, made quickly for your convenience the way you want it. Excellent variety, polite staff, clean dining space. A standard burger and milkshake will set you back £15 or so, which makes it a bit on the pricey end — 4.5÷5 with the half star taken off due to price — but really for the location, variety and the speed with which you get it, it’d hard not to reconsider and make it 5÷5…

I loved Five Guys when I tried it for the first time in Vancouver. This one in London shouldn’t be part of the chain. Burgers were very average, the patty dry and bland. Moreover, they try hard to mislead customers by offering two versions of each burger, a normal one and a «little» one. But the only difference between them is the number of beef patties, one in the little burger, two in the normal version… Such a rip off. The place itself is very dirty, tables are not cleaned between customers and the only toilet is disgusting. First time last time.

You know one of these Fridays when you feel down, want to do nothing but staying home… Then a friend of yours pumps some energy in you and takes you to a good dose of fat and cheesy burgers. You see what I’m talking about? That’s what happened when I went to that Five Guys! I very rarely hang out in that side of the city, I’m more into EC/E1/E2 and SE1… But my friend was very convincing and, well, it was for food so it’s hard to say no :). A good fat and yummy burger the way we all like it at Five guys: bread, meat, and a festival of toppings. I took so much of them that I don’t even remember how many I had. I just remember that it was damn good :) Only issue for me is its busyness. Normal, one will say, given the location. Oxford Circus, the trap for tourists, so the place will attract all the shoppers who feel hungry at some point. Add the vibrant Londoners who need some food to fill the stomach before getting their dose of booze… And the place becomes rapidly crowded, despite its 2 floors. All I remember, anyway, was that good burger. And at the end of the day, that’s why I was there for and the only thing that matters. And I will go there again! :)

I hated the food in this place no better than manky macdonalds in same league mank. I will never set foot in another again. now going to give the mank to some hungry homeless person as he will appreciate more than me and make him happy.

Four stars because the fries are garbage. The burgers, assuming you get the ‘little’ renditions, are fabulous. There is ample griddle char on the patty, a squishy yet tasty bun capable of holding itself together in all but the most perverse of topping choices, and the free peanuts satisfy the impatient glutton in me. If the fries were as good as McDonalds we’d be in fast-food domination territory.

YUM! Hideous queues around pre-theatre dinner o’clock(5 – 8 ish) but really great when you get in there. The standard burger seemed to have about three cows in it, and if you go All In you get loads of delicious toppings as part of the price which really make it. Don’t worry about going for a large fries — they give you loads enough to share!

Overrated. Late Monday night. The crowd was young pub goers looking for a late bite in Soho. The burger I had was mediocre — bland, tasteless cheese, over-cooked bacon, supermarket buns. The highlight were the fries, which were freshly cooked, crisp and salty. Disheartening was the madhouse that was the kitchen late at night. Dropped food all over the floor, dining area was littered with leftover meals. Not pretty. There seemed to be a lot of sizzle about this place — but it was all sizzle and no steak.

I really enjoyed the first place that Five Guys opened in London at Covent Garden so when I was near Oxford Circus I thought I’d give the newest location a try. Sadly this incarnation wasn’t as good as the Covent Garden original, mainly because it didn’t feel that clean. The burger is still a good quality one with two pattys in a bun plus you can order it exactly how you like, which is good for someone like me who hates the way mayonnaise invites itself into every burger. They also put an extra scoop of chips in the bag which I find a little wasteful as I forgot to order a small chips to compensate.

Not particularly fast fast food but consistently satisfying. Bottomless soft drinks. Generous fries. Toppings until your stomach bursts and if you order right, a very filling meal for £10. If you order wrong though £15 for a burger, fries and a shake at a fast food place is a little steep even by London’s standards. Be aware of the queues and the fact that meals are prepared fresh so even when there isn’t a queue there will be a little bit of a wait. Drinks machine is basically the stuff of dreams. All kinds of flavours you never knew existed. Coke Zero Cherry Vanilla, people. It’s a thing and it’s here!

Oh look, another Five Guys. Five Guys is not a high end burger place in the US. It’s a *different* sort of burger place. But nothing that people flock to like it’s never been done before. Here in the UK, I just don’t get the way that, with little-to-no-marketing, Five Guys has become something my British friends think of as super special. Don’t get me wrong — I like their burgers. But I like other burgers more. The fries are delicious, I give them that. But otherwise, I usually end up at Five Guys only when with others who want to go. If I want to spend that kind of cash on fast-ish food, I’d rather get a bit more for my money(even in Central London)

What’s the beef with beef only? Rare to see a beef only burger place but that’s what I was told when I went for a non-beef burger. As much as people seem to rave about Five Guys I left empty handed — other than the cash I was going to hand over for something to eat. If the menu changes I will certainly come back.
