Lovely. I have heard a lot about this place and it was worth it. I had a fab bacon cheeseburger and fries … Yum yum. I am fuss free so just ketchup for me but it was yummy. Well cooked soft burgers and tasty fries. Service very quick. Took it as takeaway but there were plenty of seats inside.

I had decided that Five Guys was too expensive for what you get, but on a drunken stumble from the Coal Hole towards the tube I found it was exactly what I fancied. This one has a good layout with a ramp to queue on and a big enough area for everyone to stand and wait for their food comfortably. The little notice board is a fun addition, and I enjoyed looking at some of the notes and drawings while I was waiting(although my drunken state MAY have made this seem more interesting than it actually was). I like that you can help yourself to sachets of Ketchup(unlike the untrusting oiks at other buger chains who will only give it to you upon request at the counter and will randomly charge 15p…) I got a regular sized burger which was massive(in the best way). It was incredibly messy but brilliant. I didn’t have time to eat in as I had to make a bolt to get the tube so ate it on the train from Euston, thankfully they wrap the burger in foil so I could catch the various toppings that spilled out. I was that annoying person on the train with smelly food, but my god it was worth it.

In my 25 years of life, I’ve never eaten in Five Guys. I’ve seen them around, everywhere, but for some reason I’ve never been in. That’ll change now. We were after somewhere to eat that was quick and had seating before we ran off to a gig and this place fit the criteria and was also conveniently located up the road from Embankment. So in we went. You pick a seat, take a look at the menu, get up again, go and order, wait for your food and then take it back down and hope the table you initially grabbed is still there. Much like any other fast food place. What makes this place slightly better is that you can customise your food. Want extra bacon, salsa and cream cheese on top of your burger? Sure! Want an extra large portion of fries and a drink with every type of lemonade they have in it? Go for it! Sure, it’s hella expensive for fast food. Our order came to £35. But you get a ridiculous amount of food for that. After making our way through the largest burger in history and eating our cups of chips, we realised there was the equivalent of another cup in the bottom of the bag. You can definitely just get one patty and a cup of chips to share, it’ll be more than enough. Also, they let you pick different flavours of milkshake and mix them up. Be still my beating heart. I went for chocolate, banana and salted caramel and it made THE best milkshake I’ve ever had. Try it. You won’t regret it. I know Five Guys is a chain. That it’s overpriced, the food is probably made up of baby ducks and is my entire week’s worth of calories. But sometimes you just need grease and rubbish and this is the best of that category. I’ll probably be back. Sorry, every other burger joint in London, it doesn’t mean I don’t love you all!

Been meaning to try a 5 guys for a while & as luck would have it stumbled across this one near Charing Cross. The concept is pretty simple, you bespoke your burger, fries etc. & it is cooked there and then for you. The service is good, the décor a bit garish(red & white) and has a feel of a 1950’s U.S. diner. It isn’t the cheapest 6⁄8 quid for a burger, but that isn’t what it is about. Would I go again, yes. Would I go out of my way to visit it, probably not. Overall good grub and makes a nice change.
