We ordered goat curry and roti take away. The carribean curry was delicious and roti paired perfectly. The chickpeas and green beans weren’t that great but may have been better fresh. The location is perfect and the outdoor seating is perfect on a sunny day. Lots of multicultural shops and grocers in the village adjacent to it.

First time to Brixton meant finding the perfect lunch at one of the many quirky places in Brixton Village. After a meander around the different stalls and restaurants we decided on Fish, Wings and Tings as it A. looked delicious B. was fairly packed and C. was directly in the sunshine, which was something we needed to take advantage of after the many days of miserable rain. To drink we both had the house ginger beer which was super spicy, nice and refreshing but it definitely had a kick! I ordered the vegetable roti, which came with some stewed green beans, a chickpea dish, mashed pumpkin and a roti. The green beans and pumpkin were delicious and the roti was the perfect vehicle to soak up all the left over sauce. The chickpeas were a bit disappointing and flavorless although I still ate every last bite. Warning: the hot sauces on the table are spicier than spicy, so as long as you are ok with feeling dragon-like. dig in.

I organised an after work dinner here and it went down a treat. Although there is no booking system, once we got there the staff made everything possible to accommodate us(group of 12). The food was delicious, home hearty food with a nice spice — I had the jerk chicken. But others on my table ordered the goat curry and were all very satisfied. Additionally, there’s music in the background which gives it more of a Caribbean vibe. I was told to try to Caribeer but in my opinion, it was nothing special. Also, didn’t have a chance to try the cod fritters which is definitely on my list next time.

On a recent trip to Brixton Village with a friend we arrived and saw Fish, Wings, & Tings and immediately started to salivate. In order to give all the other cafes and restaurants a fair shake, we went through the market, checked out menus but the others didnt stand a chance. We started with their home-made ginger beer. It was SO firey and great, tingled all the way down. I had the jerk chicken, rice and beans, coleslaw and mango salsa. It was incredible. Massive portion(which I unashamedly devoured). There was a knife, but really no need for it as the chicken just fell away from the bone, very moist and tender. My friend had the veggie roti which was also so so nice and also huge portion. That came with chickpeas, greenbeans and pumpkin. I was eyeing the curry goat and will definitely be having that next time. There are several hot sauces on the table, word of warning, dont smother your chicken with habenero jerk sauce then seek refuge in a firey ginger beer, there will be no salvation.

This was our first restaurant in London and after doing a quick tour of Brixton with a friend we found this place. We had the jerk chicken plate and spicy shrimp. Honestly, we are in Brooklyn which has some of the best Caribbean food outside of the Caribbean. Fish, wings and tings was good. Fun spot and lively crowd. The owner was nice and came out and talked to the guests.

All the way from the great U.S. Of A we absolutely loved this place! From visiting a number of Caribbean islands and indulging in their delicacies, this place is on point. It was so delicious we ate here twice in one week. The spice and price is just right so come on down lol.

Awesome food and service, and you barely wait for the food to arrive. Could do with some more flavour to the dishes, but overall pretty good.

As a vegan I’ve never felt the urge to check out Fish, Wings, & Tings — I assumed it would be all salted fish and jerk chicken. I was wrong! A friend recommended I go and check out the vegetarian/vegan option — Veg Roti. It was great! A fairly large plate of interesting Caribbean tastes which I wasn’t expecting — pumpkin, chickpeas, green beans… and a really tasty roti pancake. A solid and cheap lunch. And make sure you get a Ting — a nice sparkling grapefruit drink.

The older I get the more I feel less is more. First time to the area for me today. So many sights, sounds and smells made it difficult to chose what to have for lunch. But I’ve always had a weakness for goot(ahem! no not like that). It was the very laid back atmosphere that drew me in and the vibrant looking for. Try it I say, I enjoyed mine and had entertainment thrown in watching someone try and shell prawns. Wished I’d tried the cod fish balls. They looked great and seem to be a hit with most people.

Codfish fritters and jerk chicken. The wings were also good. As was their homemade ginger beer mixed with rum… yummmm… Was brought here by my sister who was raving about their jerk chicken and I can see why… it was pretty good. I love trying different variations of jerk chicken. I think they toned it down because we had asked about non-spicy things but it had a nice sweetness to it which wasn’t expected. Codfish fritters are soooooo good… must find a similar place in Toronto(good luck to me!). Coleslaw excellent, as was service because I don’t know how many times I dropped cutlery through the table, and they were super nice about it.

It was a sunny afternoon so we sat in the sun and enjoyed some Jamaican food. The service was friendly and spot on. The owner even stopped for a little chat(love his face on the bottles of hot sauce!) Everything tasted fresh. I had a goat roti and my partner had the jerk chicken. Both yummy!

I feel almost unfair giving these guys 2 stars, but… OK, here’s the thing: It’s poshified Carribean. That’s great and all — and in some cases, you can tell that the quality of ingredients is higher than it might be at Bickle’s or True Flavours or lots of these other places. But the thing is… it’s just not that good. They’re really nice. The food’s really pretty. I hope they do well. But the food doesn’t quite cut it. There are other, better places.

CODFISHFRITTERS. So good. They’re like a high-five from Jesus. I also had me a goat roti, which was spicy and packed full of flavours. Just the right size too, when accompanied by the fritters. They’ll serve you a Carib beer too. Given the last time I drank the stuff was on the beach in Belize, I was in a happy place. Very impressed with the service, given that it’s just the three of them, and that includes the two cooks. Will be back.

We were walking around the market in the summer evening looking for a place to have drinks when we decided to stop here. The chap serving us(I assume he was the cook/owner) made such an effort to welcome us that we thought it would be rude to only order drinks so we decided to order the Reggae Wings to share — and what a great idea this was. I honestly think these are the best chicken wings I’ve ever had. I can’t vouch for any of the other dishes, but yeah… TRYTHEWINGS!

I’ve just been back to try to Jerk Chicken and it’s definitely the best main on the menu. The chicken is moist and tender with a slightly spicy and smoky sauce. The hot pepper sauce gives it a real kick and the minced coleslaw is top notch as a side. The pumpkin/squash rice was a bit bland and really unnecessary other than as a filler. The codfish fritters as a starter are truly delicious. I’d actually almost just order a couple of portions and make that my meal. The gingery spicy sauce served with these balls of fish and chilli is also suitably tasty.

I’d have to give it another go, but on the whole I was less than impressed(though, as Andrew said, Erica U.‘s Jerk Chicken looked really tasty, though I did not try). I had a vegetable curry wrap thing. It was nearly £7, and not very good value for what you get. An ok curry in an ok flat bread, definitely not a complete enough meal for the price. Considering the Jerk Chicken plate was way more substantial and about the same price, I’d definitely go for that instead. It was nice, however, to just sit outside on the patio and chill. Though it took a really long time to get our food, they were super apologetic and really nice about it, so I didn’t mind. And those free cod balls(balls of cod… not cod testis) they gave us were really nice. Given the other options in Brixton Market, I’ll probably try something else next time.
