Ferry Boat Inn

A real surprise for me as I didn’t expect to like it at all when I walked in. It may be relatively «off the shelf» bland pub design but the food is great value, and to be fair there aren’t really any places to compete nearby. The pies are excellent, and Sunday dinners good for the money. Great beer garden and their beers are nicely kept.

Yes, there’s a bar in Tottenham Hale!
Cheap food (a sharing plate for 5 people could feed 8 hungry souls and only set us back a couple quid), friendly staff and a wide variety of drinks.
Not the best ambiance — mainly people over forty or people working — but we had a lot of fun for very little money.

Great pub a few minutes walk from Tottenham Hale. Recently refurbished both the indoor and outdoor space look geat. the beer garden is quite big and it has parking space, although it gets quite busy and can be a bit tricky at times to find a space. Good selection of wines and beers and outstanding food. I particularly like the sharing platters (havent quite had them all yet but plan to!). Staff is always pleasant. If you didnt know you were in North London you could quite easily think you are somewhere in the countryside and when it gets chilly they have heaters so you can enjoy the view even in winter (there is a small canal by the side).

Not worth it if the sun is out. Queues half a mile long, just to get a drink. Average food.

This pub has got good food full stop! It may not be in the beat location but it is worth travelling to. There is a good amount of parking spaces but can also be reached by public transport — less than a 10 minute walk from Tottenham Hale Station.
It is a typical English pub with plenty of seating although a bit dated.
I have been quite a few times and highly recommend the Luxury Fish Pie ;) The mixed grill is tasty but is quite small for the price.
The staff are always friendly and helpful and happy to recommend their favourite dish, they all know the menu weel which is a good sign.
The desserts here are amazing — warm 5 layer chocolate cake with cram or ice cream Yum! They have recently changed the menu but happy to say they have kept all the best dishes and added a few new ones.
The ferry boat is also child friendly. hey have a kids menu with all the classics fish and chips or bangers and mash, ice cream is also served with the kids meal which according to Jorja, 5 it is really yummy!
The only thing that lets them down is they sometimes bring out your main before you finish your starter — for this I considered giving them 3 stars.
One last thing, ferry boat please get some new tables and chairs!

Great classical pub. Its spacious and looks like a pub in the countryside. The beer garden outside makes you feel like you are somewhere else, in the middle of nowhere it feels relaxing. The beer is good and in overall the drinks are good, the food is nicely cooked and served. A perfect place to go with friends for a beer after a busy day.

good food in a lovely setting, has a country feel to it. been using this place for about 18 years, never faulted it yet! highly recommend!

Just a few minutes walk from the uninspiring Tottenham Hale shopping centre, stands the Ferry Boat Inn. It’s a great place to start or finish a walk in the Lea Valley when you stand at the bridge by the pub and look along the river, you could be in the country rather than just outside central London.
There’s a fine garden to sit out in and lots of room in the interior. There are lots of reasonably priced items on the menu, and I’d especially recommend the desserts if you have room for them after a meal.

I rather liked this spacious pub. It looks like the kind of pub you get out in the countryside, not just outside Tottenham. Outside in the beer garden by the water you could easily forget where you are, particularly when it gets dark.
I had heard fairly uninspiring reviews of the beer but I can only drink (and review) what is put in front of me (as I do most regularly!) And the Sharps Honey was a good beer (that I hadn’t had before) in good condition. It was their guest beer. Otherwise… snore…IPA and London Pride.

Now god and London underground know I try to avoid Tottenham if possible, but I cannot fail to make a pitstop to the Ferry Boat whenever I find myself near there.
First of all, it’s actually off a main road on the very edge of Tottenham and not far from the resevoirs and lakes nearby.
Okay it boils down to this: the food here is damn good! close your eyes for a sec — now think of all typical British pub food and think of them done very, very well. If you like some of what’s in that imagination, then go to the Ferry Boat. The steak is particularly good and their desserts will surprise you a lot! The strawberry cheesecake there beats the undies off most fancy cake shops in the city.
The atmosphere is good, no rowdy or shady characters here (apart from me of course~!) should make for a decent meal out with friends; a nice and spacious beer garden is also pretty good if the weather is nice (yep, all 4 good days of the year!)
The only downer is the fact that the furniture is a bit off compared to the otherwise exceptionally nice interior (with woodfire and country house feel). The chairs are at times rickety, and some pretty mismatched and gawdy.
It says 3 stars on top but I’d give it 3.5. I wouldn’t cross the city to dine here, but if you want a safe choice and are nearby then check it out.

Throw a stone and you’ll hit a pub, right? So, there has to be something special about a pub to make it a good one. While the Ferry Boat Inn has potential, it just doesn’t do much more than ooze «we could be». Blandish food, borderline slow/​rude staff, and décor that’s as standard (if a bit charming) as they come. The best thing about the place is the garden with tables under the apple trees next to the ‘river’. We’ve been here quite a few times, but it’s time to find a new place for Sunday lunch with friends.
