My girlfriend had purchased a voucher from Timeout for their perfume course and booked it a few months previously making clear it was through Timeout. They called her the day before to confirm the course for the wrong day at which point she corrected them on the timing and they said all was fine. One hour before the course was to begin, they called to say the voucher had expired and that she shouldn’t turn up, though when she had previously had to postpone it this date had supposedly been ok. The caller was pleasant but put her on to the manager and organiser of the course who immediately was quite rude about it. My girlfriend was trying to enquire into how the situation could be resolved and what the options were. I got onto the line and said«Hi, it’s my girlfriend who you’ve just been speaking to and I was the other person who was going to be coming along» and before I could say anything else she said«Do you even know what the word expiry means?» She then said«you have no intelligence to understand anything» and hung up on me. I spoke to her for less than thirty seconds. Her reaction and attitude is such clearly unacceptable behaviour in general let alone for a person in business to speak this way that it needs to be pointed out.
