Previously experience had been quite enjoyable in this busy and cramped eatery.(Breath in to sit down…) This was a last minute decision to eat out on Tuesday evening so having had a good experience once it seemed a low risk bet to try again. It must have been one of those nights… We started with the baked Camembert which was still good. The associated toast was a little too toasted but not enough to get to riled up about it. I then opted for the pork loin with a side of spinach. Unfortunately the toast should have been an omen. The spinach was overcooked and dry and the pork loin was on the wrong side of overdone. So I’m averaging out the experience given the food and that there was a bit of negotiation to get the pork compted as well as getting one of the drinks removed from the bill that I didn’t have. Disappointed to have variability in the experience.

Had to wait a while to be seated but this was during a busy lunch period when we hadn’t booked, so it was nice of them to find us a seat. We went for a number of smaller plates, which were all delicious, particularly the camembert which had a little hint of honey on top. The melanzane was great too. Definitely a lovely place to have a nice lunch.

This place has a great vibe and is in a charming location in the City. I was here with a small group on a Wednesday night around 7PM, and it was packed. We sat at the communal tables, which made for a fun time. The small plates were delicious, and the baked Camembert was a real standout. Deliciously sinful! The service was good and the wine list was excellent. I’ll definitely go back.
