Emperor

Not terrible, but not all that great either.
The good:
— reasonably quick delivery
— fairly priced
— the crispy duck was pretty tasty
The average:
— pork chow mein wasn’t too bad, although it had no vegetables and the pork was only so-​so
The bad:
— the crispy beef was absolutely buried in onions, and tasted like it
— the hot and sour soup tasted like straight vinegar — no heat, all sour
Still looking for a go-​to Chinese takeaway.

This place has no idea how to prepare food — Chinese or otherwise. Ordered the szechuan pork, got canned bamboo shoots with corn flour goop sauce. Avoid unless blindingly intoxicated.

We ordered delivery from here last night. Normally I’m not one to give 1 star, but this was the worst chinese food we’ve ever had. I had salt and chili bean curd, which was sticky and disgusting (and not spicy like I asked for). My lady had vegetable spring rolls, which were soggy and tasteless, and pork chow mien, which I didn’t try, but she said was awful, and had no vegetables. I suppose if it weren’t Sunday night and we had more options we wouldn’t have eaten it all, but we were starving so we did. I guess that’s a positive?

Emperor is basically a basic chinese takeaway/​delivery joint. Its very reasonably priced, great customer service and everything tastes good. Ive ordered a few times and always good.
