This is such a unique diner in London. Right alone Portobelo road. The way they operate I found was very neat! I got the English breakfast and the eggs Royale with orange juice. Brilliant service! Sat at the bar area in front of the chefs. No complaints whatsoever! A bit of a touristy area but great, great food! Well done, Electric!

This place would have been 5 stars, if it weren’t for the moodiness of a number of the male staff. Typical, fun American décor inside — however the menu choice was rather limited(and pricey). The cocktails were second to none and food was tasty.

What a fun place in Notting Hill for the last night of my trip. When we walked in the door they had an old track on the wall playing old school tunes, PSB in particular. Sold. Totally relaxed vibe with friendly service. I tried the pea and mint soup which was warm, savory and delicious. I next had the crab gnocchi which had a chunky tomato sauce that was really yummy and not heavy like gnocchi can often be. For dessert the incredible lemon meringue pie is great for sharing. I also had a bite of a yummy rhubarb cheesecake. Oh wait, a ate a few perfectly crunchy French fries too!

As locals to portobello road it is rare for us to find a place were we are treated as such. I LOVE this place. Great food, relaxed vibe, creative environment and staff that really care.

This place just oozes cool from the walls. Possibly the best restaurant offering on Portobello. Considering the location, it isn’t ridiculously expensive and you will be satiated by the time you leave. I still dream about that cheeseburger. Light and fluffy brioche bread with gooey meat party infused with the cheese. Worth the train back to London just for another one. The waitress was nice to us. Took the time for small talk even though the place was packed. Much appreciated. Good ales available. A must.

Friendly service; otherwise highly overrated/priced. We had a main here last night and although the staff was very friendly, I wouldn’t really take the effort to come back again. The food was very salty and quite expensive even by london standards for the value you get. Nothing out of the ordinary at least. Our(white) wine was lukewarm to start with and chilled towards the end.

Horrible service. Waited almost 45 minutes for a hot dog(server forgot to put in the order). Refuse to come back here. Next time I’ll just buy a hotdog and a can of Heineken at a gas station.

Popped in here before I went to the cinema next door and I was impressed how stylish it was inside. The staff were really friendly and I had a beer sitting at the bar as I also noticed people walking by at the open seating by the window. I will definitely come back for food which looked great.

I came here on New Year’s Day and had a delicious breaky to cure my hangover. I loved watching the cooks in action and everything was very tasty! We had avocado toast, a full English breakfast and eggs Benedict! Yum!

I’d been meaning to come here for ages(pretty shocking as I’ve lived in London my whole life). We came in for a late breakfast and sat at the bar in front of the cooking station. We saw lots of delicious looking plates come past us while we were waiting for ours. I was certainly not disappointed with my scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Huge portion of really tasty smoked salmon(I find smoked salmon hit and miss as it can sometimes be a bit tough or stringy). The eggs were very light and fluffy and also plentiful. Service was relatively quick but not super friendly. It wouldn’t stop me returning. Next time I’d rather sit in a booth as the bar is a bit cramped and there’s nowhere to put your bag if you have one.

Recently I’ve been on this lets have brunch and check out American places in London. So with a Unilocal friend, we both arranged to come here on a Sunday afternoon. The food was really good, I got the eggs benedict which was tasty and so well made. My friend got the huevos rancheros which I’ve never had before so she let me try it and it was nice but she said shes had better. As we were both still quite peckish, we both got ice cream — she got two scoops and I got one scoop, the ice-cream was really nice and creamy. I want to come back here and try the burgers now.

I’ve been meaning to go to this place for a while and so finally arranged brunch here with a Unilocal friend! Came on a Sunday… didn’t have reservations, so had to wait a little over half an hour, but thankfully we got some seats outside where we could wait. Got seated at the bar. Now, if you’re always cold, GOOD, this is the place for you. With the fires all on and the heat of the kitchen, you could feel it all. If you’re not always cold… well, it can get you a little flustered. It was quite hot there, I was afraid my glass of water would soon start boiling. I got the huevos rancheros and my friend got the eggs benedict. Now let me caveat this by saying I lived in Texas for 9 years, so my standard for huevos rancheros are pretty high. They were good… but the dish was missing rice and didn’t have much sauce. Quite yummy overall, but didn’t fill me up either. I actually got food envy looking at my friend’s 2 eggs benedict(which were also yummy). Since I hadn’t quite filled up on the eggs, got 2 scoops of ice cream for dessert — chocolate and honeycomb, which were GREAT!

While the Soho House group can do no real wrong in my eyes — I always find that my expectations of Electric Diner are higher than they should be. The various times we have visited in the past year or so, it seems like the menu has not changed at all. If it has, it’s been a very subtle, un-noticeable one. My usual order was the flat iron chicken, but the last time or so I’d ordered it the sauce was watery and it was overpowered with garlic, leaving little else taste. They use to do the most incredible lemon meringue pie too, but it seems that came off the menu pretty quickly — which is unfortunate, as the door stop sized slice you were given was not only incredibly delicious but also great value for money. The décor of course, it lovely, great leather bound booth seating with dim atmospheric lighting even during the day. The bar is a great place to sit and people watch everyone shopping on Portobello road too. Which I feel is the one saving grace to this place. Stop for a drink or three, maybe avoid the food.

I came here for a late breakfast and it was really good. I had the eggs royale with perfectly poached eggs and delicious smoked salmon. The portion sizes are not very big but perfect for breakfast. The staff were also very polite and friendly. I loved how it was both cozy and trendy but definitely not too posh. Overall, I loved the whole ambience of the place, especially sitting at the bar looking out the window on a rainy day.

Tres cher. Les frites coûtent 5£ et nous né l’avons découvert qu’à l’addition! J’ai pris la salade de saumon et fromage qui était extrement salée, immangeable à la fin.

I’ve been here a few times already, for brunch and lunch. The english breakfast is to die for, especially the sausage and the bacon. They serve it with sourdough bread, very tasty. They have green juices and all of that as well. I tried the egg + salmon combo once and the egg tasted rather weird. My friend, being able to see the kitchen, pointed out that they weren’t cooking actual eggs but rather some red liquid… I found that weird? It’s good but no eggs for me anymore, and it is a little pricey(£30+ for two people for brunch). Almost forgot! Great bloody Mary’s And sweet potato fries! But again, noisy inside, weird egg thing and high prices award this place 3 stars

We first came to the Electric Diner, as an addition to going to the Electric Cinema next door, since then, we have been back several times. The atmosphere is great, and it is a brilliant diner experience. The staff are all very approachable and friendly, and all wiling to help wherever they can. I have had many cheeseburgers in my life, some good, some bad, but the Double Cheeseburger at the Electric Diner is hands down the overall winner, nothing since has even come close. I would definitely recommend both the Electric Diner and the Cheeseburger.

Being a lover of burgers the Electric Diner has been on my hit list for quite some time. A Saturday afternoon trip to Portobello market seemed like perfect opportunity to make a visit. On stopping by we were told there would be an hour wait, no problem — they took out number and promised to call as soon as the table was ready. We went off exploring the local stalls and shops. When seated we were welcomed by a very friendly waitress, to cover it off all in all she was great. I went for the cheese burger with bacon added and an oreo milkshake. Oh lordy lord… the milkshake was tremendous. Lots of oreo chunks and a good consistency. tasty! The burger was a double patty both very thin, layered with cheese and pickles. YUM! while not a big rare burger this was meaty and tasty and made for a great lunch! A visit here is highly JD Recommended!

Wow wow wow wow wow. That was a summary of my experience at the Electric Diner. We came for a late lunch and if I had more time in England I would definitely go back for brunch as it seems to be the most popular way to go here. Atmosphere is really good, a bit closer to a real diner than that chain of Diners you find around London. Of course it doesn’t quite get to the charm of a real diner(I keep saying real diner, I mean the diners in New Jersey, Land of the Diners — more like greasy spoons than fun hipster spots). But a really cool place to come into from a cold winters day. Also the booths are really comfy. I took the plunge with their bone marrow and beef cheek jam. I wanted to go safe with a burger or something but it just kept calling to me. And oh wow was it good! Tip: The menu just says ‘bone marrow and beef cheek jam’ without any sides so you might assume that’s what you get and order a side of their mash. Unless you’re starving, refrain — it comes with LOADS of well made toast! My dining partner got the chicken and squash salad and it looked so beautiful and she said it was delicious! She also got some chips on the side which I sampled and loved. I also had a latte, and I normally don’t have high expectations for restaurant coffee but this was very nice! Food comes out quickly and you can sit at the bar and watch the chefs cook in front of you! Service is nothing to write home about but that’s about standard for London. Prices are reasonable for London but way too expensive for a real diner — but then the food here is fabulous and much more posh. You won’t make a mistake by deciding to eat here.

if you want an EPIC diner experience, this is the place to be. came here for a sunday brunch and am absolutely in love with this place! i have eaten bacon in many many places throughout life, and this was the best bacon i have ever had. to put it in perspective, even their toast is worth a mention. noteworthy toast… is something. everyone in our party was beyond smitten with their food. the avocado toast is massive and delicious and the english breakfast was declared the best english breakfast anyone had ever had. we sat at the bar and saw the cooks prepping other food for the electric cinema… and i felt immediately jealous that i was not also seeing a movie there. i want to go back just to get the amazing looking hot dogs and chicken. come here on sunday, instead of church, for a religious experience.

Superbe ambiance. Service a point.

We fortuitously stumbled across Electric Diner with some good friends while looking for brunch in the neighborhood and figured the bustling crowd there couldn’t be too far wrong. After a 30-minute wait during which we wandered further up Portobello Rd, they texted me back and seated us in a big comfy booth in the middle of the restaurant. Brunch was awesome. My wife said it was the best she’s had in London, period. Our Rwandan filter coffees were strong, full-flavored, and inexpensive at £2, my waffle was delicious with clotted cream and just a little too much strawberry preserves, and my wife’s Eggs Benedict were perfectly made. Our companions proclaimed their breakfasts to be similarly excellent. And the side order of hashbrowns ordered for the table was huge, crispy, salty, and very good. And to cap it off, the staff was friendly and laid back, the atmosphere was lively, and the space is interesting, kind of like a hipster fallout shelter but with better music. We’ll certainly be back.
