Had great dinner after landing in London with dazed jet lag and little sleep. Food was really nice… fresh made hot and excellent service.

We are visiting from the United States and found Efe’s our second night. We had been exploring for miles, it was very cold, and it began to pour rain. We were a little bit lost and the Tube was down in our neighborhood. We arrived dripping wet, hungry, and a bit cowed by the gracious treatment that we received when we walked in the door in such a state. The restaurant was clean, bright, and the service was terrific. I had grilled lamb on top of a luscious eggplant sauce, and my daughter had the two shish combo with beef and chicken. Our meals came with rice, a delicious salad, Hummus and bread, lots of arugula for garnishing our various dishes, and lovely Turkish tea at the end. We are only here for eight nights and ate here again tonight, it was so good! This time we shared a chicken wrap and a side of falafel which came with warm bread hummus and more arugula. The portions are generous, and the quality for the price great. It’s in a Muslim area, and is halal(Halal?) in case that’s important for you. They do a good takeout business as well, if you want to have it at home. Thanks for giving us great food memories in the UK! Definitely recommend.

This is a cool place to grab a takeaway or even sit down and grab a bite as a couple, or a small group. The staff are extremely friendly, made me feel at home from the time I walked in. First came the menu, followed by a complementary Turkish Tea and the food on ordering was with us in less than 15 minutes. The Lentil soup was nice although I personally prefer it to be more chunky. The chicken shish again was tasty, although a little dry. The restaurant as an overall I’d say is good, great customer service and good food. One thing I’m critical about when I go to Turkish restaurants is the bread they serve with the hummus. I love warm bread slightly toasted on an open coal grill. The taste is amazing and unfortunately I didn’t find that here so I’ve stubbornly given this 3 stars! I will go back and try something else, as I did enjoy the experience.

Me, meat, neat. I live this place. It hit the spot again. It wzs the first time however, that I ate in. My 3 ogres and I ordered the special. And special it was! The plethora of starters are to die for. Cacik, shakshuka and humus to name but a few and unlimited bread will have your taste buds twerking. Then the meat platter came and the 4 of us almost passed out at the quantity. The leftovers were the next days lunch. Money well spent.

The mixed kebabs were excellent. I had no idea chicken breast could taste so juicy and tender. Will definitely be back!

Very nice. Open long hours– makes a great stop for some high quality food at a reasonable price. I loved the tea. Only had tea and kebabs– cannot comment on anything else. I had great service, but the place wasn’t full when we were there– so don’t know how it is when it’s busy.

This kebab house is always packed whether it’s afternoon lunch or late dinner. As far as cheap and cheerful Turkish kebab house go you can’t go wrong with Efes. The meat is always fresh and grilled to perfection. Their portions used to be bigger but the portions get smaller the popular Efes get. Cheap, cheerful and good. Best kebab house in Shadwell.

So here we go again, would I go again? Hell yeah! We were actually looking for an old Bangladeshi restaurant my dad knew about(reliving his youth) but came across this in its place. Efes has a great vibe, it seems to be great for lunch, dinner, casual and for small groups. I really like this restaurant great quick service, attentive and good food. We had a lamb doner and a chicken doner(it’s quite dry so I’d recommend getting the yoghurt shish and the iskender, these are really tasty dishes). I hate writing reviews like this because this place was really that GOOD! Justice to Turkish food and justice to the mighty meaty dishes served by this well oiled machine. I kid you not I want to also say this place was clean and accommodating, I cannot stress this enough, maybe because I was skeptical at the beginning due to it being Sunday and busy. Without drinks this meal came to about 50 quid for 4– tap water is fine(I’m Indian and who wants to drink anyways when the food is this good).

Great place to go for Turkish food when in London. 6 of us got in and sat soon after arriving and we loved the meals, the appetizers, and the baklava was to die for. I defintely will be back the next time I am in London.

Simple and tastes really good. Ive been there a couple of times. Unfortunatly the service wasnt really good today. The waiter didnt bring half of our order and didnt serve us baklava in the end. But tbh the chicken shish with the cucumber yogart is really good. Suprisingly Arabs in general are used to eating rice with yogart. #Yum. Approx 15 mins walk from queen mary university and prices are reasonable. Turkish tea towards the end is also recommended.

As visitors to the White Chapel area, my boyfriend and I were looking for good food with minimal effort and we found it in Efes’ takeaway menu. Dan absolutely raved about the mixed grill and my chicken box was really satisfying, both came with tasty rice, salad, sauces and Turkish bread. All that for only £17.50! I’d definitely go back to eat in too!

Great food, well presented. Takeout is fantastic, eat-in even better. Restaurant is well presented, and comfortable, though a little crowded, especially by the front door. All waiting staff very friendly and efficient. Kitchen staff could do with a little more confidence when talking to you. Highly recommend. Go v.Hungry.

Simply the tastiest, most authentic cuisine you can imagine. Stunning. I’ve visited three times and have tried yoghurt kebabs, grilled meats and others… each time I eat too much simply as it’s so delicious. Often very busy but very very efficient raft of staff means food comes quicklyevery time. Well priced to sit in and even better priced for takeaway.

Well it was bound to happen and I’m glad it did. Efes offered good food and good service, but for someone who has been frequenting the Turkish restaurants in the Green Lanes area for a few years, it was nothing out of the ordinary. I had the lamb chops, as I normally do at Turkish restaurants, and they were ok. I’ve had better, but a little grisly. The salads and vegetables were fresh and flavourful, and they had a nice assortment of juices. It just seemed like this place was a chain restaurant(maybe it is). A personal touch, a unique flavour, some sort of special dish or manner of preparation, was lacking. I’d probably go again, as it’s convenient to have a Turkish restaurant in the area, but it’s not a place I’d make a special trip for.
