Efendi

I am filled with absolute amazement as i sit in my hotel eating take away from Efendi. I ordered the Yeprak Doner, roasted lamb on a bed of rice with (a massive) flat bread and salad. absolutely INCREDIBLE. some of the best food I’ve had on my 3 week stay in london. up there with some very expensive and busy places — Bistroteque, Tonkotsu, Sager+Wilde /​Mission, Roka…
Really nice staff, clean, friendly, spacious, nice atmosphere. The kitchen seemed to run really smoothly and as i watched the chef prepare my order you could see that he was very serious about his craft — but still having fun.
I wandered in early and they prepared my food for me even as they were still opening the rest of the restaurant. Im going back at least once before I leave.

Ganz oldschool ohne Unilocal App bin ich gestern hier reingestolpert (hätte ich gewusst, dass der Eintrag noch so jungfräulich ist, hätte ich natürlich Fotos gemacht), auf der Suche nach etwas Essbarem in der Nähe zu meinem Hotel. Ich war so müde, dass meine Entscheidungs– und Entdeckerfreude am Nullpunkt angelangt war, die brauchte ich aber anscheinend gar nicht, um etwas gutes zu finden.
Ich hatte hier das vegetarische Kebap zum Mitnehmen bestellt. Sehr freundlich nahm man meine Bestellung an, wies aber darauf hin, dass es etwa 15 Minuten dauert. Hmm, na toll — wie lange kann etwas Brot und Gemüse schon dauern? Als er anfing frisches Gemüse zu schnippeln und auf einen Spieß zu stecken, wusste ich warum. Hier hält man nix warm, dann brauchen die Dinge halt ihre Zeit. Schwupps, war ich versöhnt und tippelte eine Viertelstunde später und um 7 Pfund ärmer aus dem Laden und hatte ein fantatisches Kebap mit toll gewürztem Gemüse und frisch gebackenem Brot. Yes, so gefällt mir das, definitiv eine Empfehlung!
