Such an amazing find, popped in for lunch yesterday with my wife and daughter for something to eat as we were in the area. What can I say apart from Amazing, the food was out of the world! I had their Kiwi Burger which was a special for the day as it was New Zealand day apparently. The burger was freshly made from high quality ingredients and tasted devine. My wife had a fish finger sandwich which wasn’t your standard fish fingers but more filet of cod cut into fingers. So your not going to get better than that. Of the top of my head I can’t remember what my daughter had but I know she loved it. The atmosphere in the establishment is amazing, the locals are very friendly and welcoming and they have one of the best draught cider ranges I have seen for a long time. I had the Lily the Pink cider which is fairly strong and yep it was pink… but hey. it went down very well. If your in the area I would definitely drop in as the staff are very friendly and and amazing place to relax and enjoy the company your with.

I came here for a late lunch with some work friends the other day. I like the atmosphere of the pub. I believe it has recently been refurbished and everything feels fresh and new. The staff were really friendly and attentive — especially the Australian waitress. I think they could do with rethinking their seating as I feel there is quite a bit of wasted space and so I imagine it might get quite full quickly. plus, it was tricky accommodating our group of 9 and most us ended up on short stools and at tables that were so narrow we couldn’t fit two plates side by side. The drinks selection was good and I like the bar set up in the middle of the room. Since it was the middle of the workday, I ordered a diet coke. This is a very minor point for some, but usually I don’t like fizzy drinks from the fountain/pump/machine because they tend to taste watery, but I don’t know what the Duchess does, but their fountain diet coke was delicious — almost like a Dr Pepper. When it came to the food, I had the fish and chips, which was really good. The fish was crispy with a tasty batter and the so called ‘proper’ chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The food did take quite a while to arrive, even though we were the only ones in the pub, though we were a large group. All in all, a nice lunch option in the Battersea Power Station area, which offers relatively little. I would definitely go again!

Whiled away a very pleasant hour or two atop The Duchess’s impressive rooftop balcony, which has surely the best view of Battersea Power Station in the city. Friendly staff, cool décor and a great suntrap on a sunny afternoon.

Had a great saturday all-day session here a couple of weeks ago and loved every minute. Delicious food + Good views + Cool jazz = Great times! The location is an issue, not the easiest to reach on public transport but perhaps with the powerstation redevelopment this may be improved

Oh my goodness I want to move to Battersea this place is so amazing. Really. I adore it here. So much that I ate here three Sunday’s out of four in February apparently. Granted I didn’t have to move far after drunkenly falling alseep on my firneds sofa down the road, but it’s still quite extreme. I’ve never been here without a hangover though, so I can’t comment on their beer. That doesn’t matter though. Not when they do roasts so well. Pigs in Blankets! Pigs in Blankets I TELLYOU! And occasionaly, for no apparent reason, two types of stuffing(cranberry and chestnut we think the other one was). Both yummy. Oh, and the clincher? You get Yorkshire puddings even if you order the FREERANGE chicken. That doesn’t happen very often. They’re in real gravy too. Anything else? Well, I happen to love the view of the power station. It’s strange, but actually quite amazing though I can’t work out why. I also like the roof terrace and the garden out back is beautiful. This is the kind of pub that could be in Good Housekeeping maagzine. It’s got very funky bric-à-brac everywhere and it works. I come out of here wanting to embroider cushions. Thankfully I never do. Oh, and when you throw some great staff, who make you feel important no matter how packed it is(and if you don’t wake up before 2 it’s rammed) and some pretty good jazz, it makes for a great pub. You can also read the Sunday papers or, if you feel like it you can watch football or play operation or scrabble. With so much fun here, why would you want to stay on the sofa? One of the best pubs in London. It’s my find of the year.

An oasis in the South London Wasteland, this is a cosy pub which is worth the trek. Just enough space inside and with more decked space out back. Puts on live Jazz at the weekend which is always good news when you want to escape the YP dens of Clapham high street. I was disappointed that they stopped serving food after 6 though. Intrigued to see what happens to this place when they develop the Power station
