We went to this restaurant to try some new food. Marrocan food sounded great! The starters were really good and with lots of flavour and we really enjoyed that. We had one starter each. My partner loved his main course and said the lamb was perfectly cooked. Mine was nice too but next time I would probably be a bit more adventurous with my choice. All was really great I would highly recommend it. Nice environment too. There was 12.5% discretionary service charge added to the bill which is unnecessary and too much.

I always get a bit suspicious when the menu completely changes at a restaurant. It’s usually a very good sign that management — or at least the cook has changed. Coming back a little over 2 years since my initial visit, I don’t know if I want to come back again sadly. We ordered the falafel which was just ok and the pumpkin tahini dip — which was good but needed another order or flatbread to finish. I ordered the lamb coucous — which turned out be bland and the couscous was a bit watery. A friend ordered the lamb tagine which looked good but not nearly as good as it was when I tried it before. My husband had the chicken skewer which was quite nice but again thinking there are other places that are a bit better. Service was really good — they were attentive and didn’t mind us taking our time at dinner. Maybe I’ll come back for lunch as they seem to have a good casual selection like wraps.

Really fantastic food. Recent upgrades and changes have made the menu to die for — everything is so flavourful and the staff are hospitable and friendly. Great service, food, and atmosphere.

Genuinely so surprised by this place. It’s beautiful inside and so much bigger than expected. The food is reasonably priced and so good. I went with two girl friends and ordered 3 starters and two mains with a side of cous cous which was more than enough for three people. We also had two bottles of wine and it was only 25 – 30 pounds per person when the bill came. Really lovely experience all round.

I’m afraid I didn’t enjoy the food here at all. The atmosphere is nice and the crowd is good but the food — for starters we ordered the mixed meat and veg platter. It was greasy and the flavours were all over the place, not in a nice way. For mains we had the cumin kebab and the lamb was overcooked, tough and flavourless. The rice was still a bit raw. All in all a horrible meal. A shame as like I said the ambience and atmosphere is good.

Had lunch today at Doukan and I was impressed. Notoriously a fussy eater, however was taken aback by the great flavours and the reasonable prices. Tried the chicken Harissa wrap which was divine, the other four guests loved their individual choices. A real gem, very impressed.

Hmmm ok, this is definitely going to be a mixed bag review and one that will probably sit quite neatly on the fence. Good points; great atmosphere, not overly full, but… the dark corners are really a bit too dark. I’ve got perfect vision(I think) and found it hard to read the menu. One dining companion immediately grabbed her glasses and had to pull the tiny tea light right up to the menu. We ordered a selection of vegetarian starters. Not sure what I was expecting, but it was just a load of flat breads with various dips, beetroot, carrot, aubergine etc… Hardly a starter to share? More like opening nibbles. But, they were tasty and yummy, so again, hmmmm. My main meal was a tagine of prawns. It was hot, it had prawns in it. That’s about it. Oh, and did I mention really hot(temperature, not spiciness). And prawns that tasted and had the texture of the ones you get in Sainsburys on a 241. Wine was beautiful, and we went through two bottles of a lovely Spanish white. Others had slow cooked lamb which was massive, a little dry, but the cous cous etc was lovely. So, the jury really is out on this one I’m afraid. For the price it’s just about worth a try to see what you think. But I won’t be running back anytime soon.

Happened in here by accident, went for a bike ride and ended up hungry and in Wandsworth. The chicken tangine was wonderful, perfectly spiced. My partner had a lamb kofta burger, which was huge and did not dissapoint. The desserts and coffees also looked nice, but as we were both so full from the mains we didn’t order any. Will definitely be back again!

Old York Road is one of the cutest streets in London, and Doukan sits on it perfectly. Sober September meant I couldn’t partake in any of the delicious-looking cocktails. A tall glass of cranberry juice served me just fine. The food: leaning towards the overpriced side, but the flavours are wonderful. I had a chicken tagine dish alongside sweet couscous with raisins. The meat was succulent and the sweetness was there but not overpowering. I’d like to come back for their tea during the day since I’ve heard it’s pretty awesome. But dinner was lovely and held an intriguing atmosphere.

As I wandered down Old York Road today waiting for a meeting with an estate agent, I passed by Doukan with its completely open frontage. The day was sunny, so the restaurant had opened itself onto the high street and situated tables out on the pavement. I wandered in and began to consider the menuboard on the wall. I only had about £3.50 in my purse and wondered if I could afford a cup of tea and a pastry. One of the restauranteurs approached me in an open and inviting manner and asked if I wanted take-away. I realised at that point that I was perusing the take-away menu. I vaguely murmered that I was thinking about getting a cup of tea or something to enjoy at one of the outside tables, and she told me they had fresh mint tea or that I could just get some English breakfast tea. I told her I wanted a pastry too, and she described the sweets and savouries and then pointed out some smaller sweet snacks on display as well. I asked her which of the small snacks was best, and she pointed out her favourite. I took her up on both her recommendations: I opted for the mint tea and I got an ‘almond sweet’. And do you know what time it was? Delicious o’clock. The mint tea was just downright gorgeous. Wonderfully minty and just the right amount of slightly sweet. After I sipped my way through the one cup served to me at the sunny table on the pavement, the wait staff arrived with the pot again and gave me a refill. And the almond pastry was the a perfect-sized indulgence. Oh yeah, and I was left with 50p. I can only imagine that the food is fab based my experience with the service, atmosphere, attention to detail and quality of the tea and cakes and I look forward to trying it out in the future when I have more than £3.50 in my pocket.

Good friendly service but bland food. Was expecting so much more from Doukan. Hummus was bland mashed butter beans, tagine was no better than a ready made one from Marks and Spencer. Disappointed!

Super new Morroccan bar/restuarant run by the Morroccan owner and his French wife. Service couldn’t be friendlier and prices very reasonable. Also great for coffee and pastries al fresco while you watch the world go by on Old York Road.
