What a nice surprise, went in randomly and the prices where cheap and the food great! it’s a buffet which usually means the temperature of the food is at warm to hot temp, but all the food was hot, ingredients fresh and flavors great. best sweet and sour sauce I’ve ever tasted, as is it a Thai fusion the food is a lot spicier but not overpowering 5 stars all the way

This place is a haven for refuelling when you’re at a gig. In close proximity to The Underworld, The Black Heart and The Electric Ballroom, it’s in a pretty perfect location. It’s completely vegan/vegetarian, serving an array of Chinese food. You simply walk in, are greeted and seated, then head up to the buffet and load your plate to your heart’s content. There’s an excellent choices of dishes, including vegetables, noodles, spring rolls, rice and various fake meats(the best being the«beef» and the«shrimp»). Although some of it is a little greasy, it all tastes great and is cooked fresh(you can see them coming from the kitchen and refilling the pans as you eat). Once you’re finished, you walk to the front counter and pay. For a lunch sitting it costs £5.80 and, considering it’s all you can eat, this is fantastic value. A real gem of a place and I will definitely be returning.

One thing I learned from my brief time in Camden Town on this trip to the United Kingdom is that I’m not cool enough for the neighborhood anymore. The look I got nearby at the British Boot Company when I tried to look at Doc Martens showed me that. But I can still eat every bit as much as the starving young hipsters and malcontents in the neighborhood, so I was thankful for this bargain Asian buffet. Surround by vegans half my age, I was still able to enjoy an incredible set of hot bar dishes free of meat including a vegetarian sweet and sour chicken that I went back for fourths on. I also very much enjoyed their spicy«beef.» Even though I was not prepared for the amount of hotness in the dish, it was delicious when it was combined with rice. I do have to say that most of the buffet items that I tried tasted more like the sauce than the protein they were supposed to imitate, they know how to make a sauce correctly. The cold bar left a bit more to be desired. While the hot bar borders right on the kitchen where you can see the cooks bring out fresh veggie protein, the cold bar seems to sit around for a while. The noodles were kind of sticky and gross. And the cold bar was completely missing desserts! Unless you count fruits. And I don’t. But I still liked this place a lot because they gave us free tea(it’s supposed to be a bit over a pound unless you order it as a combo) and they were dirt cheap for a ton of food. Plus, there are a ton of seats and you can people watch on Kentish Town Road while eating. So you can enjoy the scene in Camden even if you’re not cool enough for it anymore.

GREAT little chinese food place just outside Camden tube station. Because of the huge variety of food in Camden, its easily overlooked but it really is worth a try, and its mega cheap as well! They don’t take credit card, but if you’re in Camden, i’d be carrying cash anyways. MEGA cheap, you can get a takeaway box for 3.50 Small 4.50 Large and get as much as you can fit in the box! It is all Vegetarian food, but DONT let this affect your judgement– I took my boyfriend here who has never liked vegetarian/quorn meat, or vegetarian food in general, and he loved it! I’m not vegetarian myself, but the food is so well-flavoured and yummy, I didnt even notice the first time I went! Really recommend the sweet and sour ‘chicken’ and their spring rolls are absolutely delicious. Staff are friendly, but don’t speak great English; in my opinion the food speaks for itself! TIP– If you need parking, the Sainsbury’s Car Park is just behind it and if you try/like the takeaway box? Its a really lovely and cheap place for a sit down meal.

One of the best and cheapest veggie places in London; tasty warm and cold buffet, only a few steps from the Camden Town tube station, very affordable, great selection of fake meats and other vegetarian dishes. I had dinner at Dou Dou with a friend and we paid around £9 each for the buffet and drinks. Only complaint is that the exterior makes the place look a bit dodgy, but other than that it’s the perfect place for a cheap lunch or dinner.

Dou Dou Buffet(formerly Tai Buffet) in Camden Town a few steps across the road from the tube station… is AWESOME! I’ve been many, many times for a couple of reasons; 1 all you can eat buffet! 2 it’s all vegetarian! 3 it’s great value! £5.90 at the moment Monday to Friday lunchtimes. There’s a great range of vegetarian chinese style food available. All the«meat» products are vegetarian though they look and taste very much like the real thing. Pretend pork, beef, prawns, all sorts. The noodles, rice, different vegetable dishes are all excellent too. Plenty of different sauces and tastes for all palates. This is an essential eaterie if you’re a veggie visiting Camden. I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’ve lost count of how many people I’ve taken there who’ve all loved it. Enjoy!
