Cute little neighbourhood café. Unpretentious space run on the side of a freelance creatives’ studio. In the lead up to Christmas they let a wine distributor takeover the shop and run a wine bar(which is say was 5 star) and different chefs play in the kitchen. Ace idea, fun atmosphere and great booze. When it’s just coffee, they make a mean flat white(which is technically not supposed to be served too hot FYI) and serve small bits and pieces. Think salmon rolls, frittata, toasted sandwiches etc. The space is in its prime when the sun comes out. It has a lovely outdoor area out the front that allows dappled light through whilst you sit back and forget you’re on the brink of shoreditch craziness. If London turns on London weather and you’re forced inside there is limited space so buddy up on a stranger’s table. Highly recommended as a book reading/sketch pad drawing/poetry writing venue.

Been here a few times now and have waited to review just to make a fair assessment. Not a fan of the coffee, a bit too bitter for my taste, food is OK and prices are OK. None of it is amazing, why do I keep coming back? It’s close to home and at least has coffee and nice outdoor seating and as I had eggs and salmon on this visit, have I say it was very tasty. So, in summary, coffee — not great, food — yeah pretty nice.

Looks kitsch, and that’s why i like it. Coffee taste great, love the energy of those working in the building. Great place to hang out, especially the terrace in the sunny days!

Very good coffee! I live just around the corner and I really enjoy their space, service and good food and coffee. Recommended if you are in the neighbourhood.

Went for coffee during a downpour with a friend and our two young children(aged 2 months and 2yrs). It is a tiny café with not a lot of space inside, although it has a large terrace for dry weather. We had a coffee and a hot chocolate and they were ok priced, however both were served tepid, very lukewarm, which with hindsight we should have sent them back, but we didn’t. The place is not well catered for buggies at all… it’s up a couple of steps and once inside it is quite cramped and no space for them. They did have cakes and sandwiches however we didn’t sample them. It is a café typical of a lot of the newer ones in the area– very hipster and had lots of customers. Would not go again with the baby, but would consider if we’re child-free.

Cute coffee shop on Kingsland serving Monmouth coffee. Popped in here for a few coffees this afternoon. The interior is really cool, with lots of small flower arrangements dotted around which look great and can be bought. The flat whites tasted amazing but could have been a touch hotter. Will definitely be back.
