What can I say that hasn’t been said before about Crockett & Jones. My journey here was a referral from another dealer on the Jermyn Street. Immediately after walking in I was engrossed with the possibilities I could chose from in shoes. After taking a quick lap, my eyes caught a pair of double monk strap shoes(in suede). When the sales rep asked about sizing, I told them about my odd feet(slightly wider than normal but not wide). They came back with the right size and the rest is history. Not often do I make a purchase and not care about the price. Since I made the purchase a few months back, I am plotting how to get another pair.

Crockett & Jones ist einer dieser wunderbar elitären Schuhhersteller Englands, der hier in Jermyn Street seine handgemachten Herrlichkeiten ausbreitet.

Pleasant, laid back, professional staff. I bought a beautiful pair of their chukkas, they are my new faves. Very supple leather and they broke in very quickly.

Window shopping sucks… why do I torture myself. Handsome hand/bench grade shoes as seen by a Unilocal reviewer with Champagne taste, beer money The End

Crockett & Jones shoes are probably the most British-looking shoes there are on the market. By now, I have bought at least 10 pairs(I simply cannot stop !), and I could not be more happy with them. Their variety is huge, and quite a few of their shoes come in different widths which is quite handy since I struggled with overly wide shoes quite a bit in the past. I especially like the C & J shoes in cordovan(horsehide) leather, as they are very sturdy and age gracefully. My first pair of cordovan shoes from them was purchased ages ago and has now developed a great reddish-brown patina. They offer a great resoling and refurbishing service, and customer service is of very high quality. Indeed, their Jermyn Street store manager has the rare gift of making you feel like their most important client every time you enter the shop. Highly recommended !

I got my heart broken today. You see, it all began before Christmas when I dropped off a new pair of brogues to have the heels softened. I explained I was leaving the country that week and was told it would take but a day or two and that I would be notified by phone when my gorgeous shoes were ready. I never received word back and when I called they couldn’t find the pair. Eventually they were located but since my flight was the following day I wasn’t able to fetch them. Today I returned to the shop with my claim ticket but the shoes were nowhere to be found. Apparently this was the first time they’d seen a pair go missing in 10 years. This did nothing to make me feel better about their carelessness. I received an apology and was invited to pick another pair of shoes. Only problem was, their already limited stock of women’s shoes did not include any brogues I liked in my size; same goes for the nearby Burlington Arcade location where I originally bought the now missing shoes. I looked longingly at iPhone photos of the brogues I’d only bought in November and barely worn. In the end, I asked to be refunded my money back on my card. I think it goes without saying that Crockett & Jones need to step up their service level straight away. I’d hate to hear of more hearts being broken like mine.

I purchased a pair from their Handgrade collection during the recent sales, and it’s quickly become my favorite pair of shoes. Great quality, beautiful shoes, but not very difficult to break in like some other quality long-lasting shoe brands. The sales staff are quite knowledgable, but more importantly, easy to talk to and even to joke around with. A pleasant, low-pressure(but serious) experience.

There will be a lot of people that will never need a shop like this and there will be a few that do. Situated in Jermyn St this is basically an upmarket shoe shop. I say a lot of people won’t need a shop like this because the prices are outrageous and therefore you will not need it. Go to the high street and you will find similar for a fraction of the price. For the others who need to spend that much on shoes then this is your place. A very limited stock of shoes which suggests that they sell the same shoes all the time and have no need to get new stock in? Very old school and classy, go in and be measured up and off you go — «that will be £385 please sir»… Bring it on, I am off to the high street with my £80, good luck with yours Rupert.
