I always try to support independent coffee shops. I pass CREAM on my way to work and decided to stop in for a takeaway flat white, which was delicious(best I’ve had in the area to date). The coffee shop itself is also lovely, so I will definitely be back for a sit down coffee/breakfast in the near future.

Once upon a time there was a tiny café called the Tuckshop and it was amazing. They had a magical avocado ripening room. And then it closed and I cried. And then Cream opened. I looked in with trepidation. Does Shoreditch really need another hipster coffee spot? But these were familiar faces! It was the Tuckshop crew! Gone was the magical avocado ripening room, but in its place was all the amazing coffee, salads and cakes you could want, all served with their cheerful charm I knew and loved. Sure it’s still got Shoreditch prices, but being welcomed with a smile and banter is sometimes totally worth it.

CREAM is located in a cool minimalist warehouse with plants everywhere. It’s quiet, a perfect spot to chill out with a friend around a coffee, or to work on your next project(there are computer spaces on the side which is handy). They have really tasty fresh food(try their soup), and the staff is lovely. There is also big community tables so it’s a good place for groups or to meet your next best friend. Definitely a good canteen to go while you are in the area.

Just stopped in for a moment to grab an iced latte on a bright Saturday morning, but I was impressed. Cool space, good(loud) music, cool staff, really good iced latte. It’s on my radar now, so I’ll have to come back and check it out more thoroughly when I’m looking for breakfast in the area.

CREAM is located in a surprisingly quiet sidestreet off Shoreditch High Street and has a really relaxing ambience although it’s not far from the hussle. The interior is modern, open, and simple. If you’re just having a cup of their speciality coffee, you can also sit outside on some benches along the wall. There’s very little traffic, so it’s not uncomfortable. I haven’t even tried the food — only had a really good soy cap — but I want to go again and have some of their good-looking savoury and sweet offerings.

This was the 2nd time I came here and still just as impressive! The premise is stylish and is in what looks like a renovated garage with tall ceilings and really open connection to the street, my friend said it reminded him of the Australian easy way of life. It’s connected to an interesting looking art gallery. They play good up-bear music that puts you in a good spirits! The. Eggs. Are. Amazing. The best scrambled eggs in London. The menu changes daily depending on the ingredients they have for the day so sometimes try won’t have bacon but everything tastes fresh and good and put in delicious artisan crusty toast! Friendly and courteous staff, highly recommended !

Great food however after sending one item our group ordered back to the kitchen because it contained an ingredient(mayonnaise) not listed on the menu, was shocked to then be made to pay for it. Hardly ever send any food back in a restaurant but was shocked by this place saying they had to throw the unwanted item away and therefore we had to pay for it. Staff were rude and would never go back again.

CREAM Shoreditch. Go here for the chic minimalism, hipster-cool chillout, fresh salads and a strong espresso. Not for the mocha. It’s an unassuming café. You can easily walk past its minimalist warehouse/garage exterior(albeit a very snazzy version of it) and completely miss it. It’s spacious and airy inside and the people are friendly. I had a house salad(large for £7.50; ask for a regular/small for £5 if not too hungry as the portions are huge), which had a base of kale and barley. It was fresh and I’d have it again. The espresso was strong, but not exemplary(always hard to rate given how many good coffee places there are in London now!) The mocha we had, however was disappointing — it seemed to have sugar added already and wasn’t hot enough. In short, it was a lunchtime discovery I’d easily repeat.

Deeeeeeee-lightful! Some may say that Shoreditch is saturated by coffee/breakfast places, but I always welcome any new addition with very open arms. I love coffee, I love breakfast and after my Saturday morning at CREAM, I love it, too. As of this writing they’ve been open just 3 weeks — and seem to be doing very well indeed. It’s location on New Inn Yard(between Great Eastern Street and Shoreditch High Street) is tucked away and pleasant, creating a nice little oasis to enjoy your plate or coffee. It’s spacious and clean, bright and stylishly outfitted. Soaring ceilings, beautiful lighting, long wooden tables. My pour over was the kick I needed to survive my pending journey to Gymboree, etc. My husband downed an espresso and we longingly looked over the menu, at our kid, back at the menu, back at our kid — and decided we didn’t have time to indulge in Turkish Eggs, a variety of scrumptious sounding toast offerings, etc or we’d be late for aforementioned child activities. Next time! Real nice guys, real good coffee, real cool digs. Welcome to Shoreditch, CREAM… I think we’ll be great friends. *accepts cards. *fresh juices also available.
