Half a chicken with mushroom sauce and creamed spinach(instead of regular fries). Great value and good sized portion. The service was excellent tonight but the restaurant were also rather quiet at 1830. Been here before and will be back.

We had a great brunch here on our vacation to London. The service was fast and we both enjoyed our food. I had the vegetarian breakfast which was huge and a great mix of items. It is probably not the cutest place in London but a nice atmosphere.

I’m shocked this place doesn’t have a better average rating since it’s one of my go-to’s in Soho. I’ve been three or four times for dinner and each time has been a great experience. It’s an upscale-ish restaurant that’s centrally located, the service is friendly, and the prices are super reasonable. I used to try to bring my friends to other restaurants in the area, but they would complain that they wouldn’t be able to afford rent if they ordered a main course, so that was a problem, and Cote solved it. Try the duck or the seabass! Food: 4⁄5 Value: 5⁄5 Service: 4⁄5 Atmosphere: 4⁄5

Have eaten here many times. Always a good meal. You need to avoid it during theatre time otherwise it could get busy and staff less attentive. You can’t go wrong with most items on the menu. Worth a try.

Very friendly and quick service. The chargrilled steak was very good and cut very easily. Very generous if the restaurant to give complimentary water in Coté’s own earthenware bottles. The French Onion soup was served below the desired temperature but they attended to our request right away. Location is excellent and they welcomed us with our five year old son and even gave him a kids menu(though he also opted for the steak).

Average. Not a great meal. Not a terrible one. I had the French Onion Soup for an appetizer and it was a bit heavy on the thyme. It also lacked some of the depth of onion flavour that tends to come with these. My fellow diners had the Roquefort Salads and all enjoyed them. Dinner was cassoulet. I haven’t ever had it before and I enjoyed it but I found the duck a bit dry. Other meals were steak frites which were apparently good and my friends raved about the lamb. We didn’t have dessert. The service was excellent. Overall I would go back but wasn’t blown away.

Great french fare at a ridiculous price. This place is right out the back door of the Soho Hotel so I’ve eaten here twice during my current visit. Breakfast — Full English(2 eggs, 3 bacon rashers, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms w/toast £7.75 w/juice & coffee drink(called Formula £9.95). Bargain pricing but very high quality & my 2 eggs were cooked exactly as order, poached hard/not runny. My skinny flat white coffee was also perfect, hot & flavorful. I love coffee & drink a ton, so I did have a second one which was also delish. Lunch — Chicken & walnut salad. The chicken was moist & flavorful. My only complaint was the dressing was a little heavy, but I usually ask for it on the side & forgot. Free wifi — ask for the code Free filtered water — served in a cute bottle. The ambiance was authentic french brasserie & the servers were very friendly — ironically which I don’t think is very french :-)

My all-time favourite! I highly recommend the risotto and chicken fillet. Considering the quality of the food, the price is amazing. It’s a nice place to drop in with a friend for a decent meal, but it does get quite packed during dinner so better make a reservation if you don’t want to queue for two hours!

Dined here multiple times with both work and friends and it has yet to loose a star. The service is always friendly and prompt, the food is always well portioned and well cooked. You cant beat the pre theatre menu for value and quality. Highly suggest the potted beef although im not sure its on the menu any more. Its always my fall back option as I know it will always deliver

So I’m in London for work this week and after a very long and intense day, had the urge to do something fun. Luckily my amazing colleagues — E and R — were in a similar mindset and off we trotted towards Soho. We stumbled across Côte quite by accident, but at a tenner for Steak Frites we thought«why not!» I had the pork belly which was absolutely beautiful, melt in the mouth & cooked to perfection. The sauce which came with the caramelises apples was almost a dichotomy to the rest of the dish, so bitter that i wasn’t entirely sure I liked it but the mash was excellent and complimented that well. E and R both opted for steak, R going for the 10oz rib eye with the garlic butter sauce and E for the steak frites. Both agreed it was the best steak they had ever had. All in, for this plus my cheeky kir royale we were under £45. In the middle of Soho at 8.30pm on a Saturday night that is a pretty amazing deal. I’d definitely go again.

Nice prix-fixe for dinner before or after a show. Loved the bread, nice and fresh. The Steak Frite is good, not as good as Le Relais de L’entrecôte in Paris, but will do when you’re in London.

My boyfriend and I had a mostly lovely meal here on the last night of our vacation in the UK. We walked in without a reservation and had no problem being seated. The ambiance was low key and pleasant and the food was very tasty. We started with some bread and the chicken liver pâté which was absolutely delectable. The pork belly was enjoyable with a crispy melt-in-your-mouth skin and came with a side of savory whipped chive potatoes. What I wasn’t crazy about was the sauce that came with the dish — the thyme was overwhelming and I found myself pushing the sauce to the side which left the pork a little dry. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak and chips and was full enough to pass on dessert. I decided to order the crème brûlée which was disappointing. It was extremely cold and the bruleed sugar on top was burnt. What’s worse is that it took FOREVER to come out… we almost decided to cancel and pay the bill by the time it finally came. Service was very friendly but slow… although I have to wonder if that’s just my American expectations being too high because every establishment we ate at in the UK had equally slow service without apology. I’d probably come back here for the prix fixe lunch but I don’t think I’d pay the regular a la carte prices again.

Am Freitag Abend ist es in Soho nicht so leicht einen Platz zum essen zu finden — zumindest wenn man richtig am Tisch sitzen will… Auch in der Brasserie Cote mussten wir warten, bis für uns ein Tisch frei wurde. Dem Restaurant sieht man von außen niocht an, wie groß es ist, zumal auch noch im Keller weitere Tische stehen… alle Tische besetzt, das lässt auf große Akzeptanz bei den Gästen und gute Küche schließen… Ein Kellner hatte uns auf eine Warteliste geschrieben und so konnten wir noch eine halbe Stunde spazieren gehen… Dann am Tisch: schnelle und außerordentlich freundliche Bedienung: eine Flasche Wasser und einen Brotkorb mit sehr gutem frischen warmen Baguette und leckerer leicht gesalzener Butter bekommt man sofort als Begrüßung. Die bestellten Speisen waren dann richtig gut: französisch, genau auf den Punkt, meisterlich gekocht! Auch die Speisen an den anderen Tischen sahen alle durchweg sehr gut aus! Der Service freundlich, immer zur Stelle ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Einziger Wermutstropfen: im ersten Gastraum — in dem wir saßen — war es unheimlich laut! Eine Bahnhofshalle ist ein Flüsterstübchen dagegen. Und die Geräusche kommen alle von den Gästen, die sich fast schon anschreien müssen um sich zu verstehen — … kein Teppich, keine Stoffe oder andere lärmdämmenden Materialien an den Wänden… — es gibt keine Musik oder andere«produktionstechnische» Geräusche — aller Lärm «Menschen gemacht» — schade! Aber wegen des sehr guten Essens würde ich trotzdem wiederkommen!

Went here for my cousin’s birthday. Had the pre-theatre menu. Delicious all-round. The ratatouille for starter was tasty and fresh. I had the steak with fries and garlic herb butter. I prefer a bit more sauce than just butter so they gave me a little ramekin with pepper sauce in it. The chicken with potato purée looked great and tasted delicious. When desert came round they kindly brought out a candle and sang the little guy happy birthday. Friendly efficient service & very good value.

Came here last minute last night and got the two courses for £13 deal which is really good for Soho! I had the leek and potato soup that was so yummy I basically inhaled it. I then had the steak which was OK with a tasty green side salad!

Underwhelming in the light of day. I’ve been to Côte several times for dinner. I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve recommended it to friends. I’ve had some pretty good food there for the price I’ve paid. And it’s had a decent ambience for somewhere chainy: low lights reflecting off mirrors and polished wood, tables not too cramped, casual but darkly elegant in that French brasserie kind of way. But now I think I know why they turn the lights down so low at night. I went there for breakfast on a Saturday morning and I can’t say it was anything like the evening experience. For one thing, the place was a bit… well, grubby. Not filthy as such, but certainly not polished, and looking a bit tired, drab, not particularly clean and in need of some attention. Also, the fruit flies that were buzzing round in an attempt to share our breakfast brought on an entirely different ambience to what I was expecting. The food was OK. Really just OK(French breakfast good, my dining partner didn’t enjoy the crêpe). But it didn’t feel OK when I felt a little embarrassed having brought somewhere here on the promise that it was really nice. The service was attentive. This review almost scraped its way to 3 stars, based on my past good experiences and the possibility that they(or the cleaners) were having an off-day. But I really need to base this on my last experience. So there’s massive room for improvement, Côte.

I’ve been to this Côte as well as the one at St. Christopher’s Place a few times each. Same menus, of course, so I am going to write one review. Try to change my mind on that. You can’t! By the time you read this, I have already moved on. There’s nothing you can do about it! I almost always order the same thing. Steak Tartare, and a Tuna Nicoise salad. The Tartare has a little bit too much shallot for my liking, but it’s decent. It’s kind of got that ketchup taste going on, which is pretty impressive for London, considering there is a perpetual ketchup shortage in the city and the country as a whole. An intentional ketchup shortage, I ought to add. It’s not an actual shortage. They just don’t want it. The Nicoise is very good, too. Nothing fancy there. It’s just good. That’s all I can write about that, as my flight from London to Los Angeles is now about to take off. It’s been delayed for a while. Damned snow.

Chicken livers, benedict, boeuf bourguignon and steak frites! Really good food and value for the money. The boeuf bourguignon came out steaming hot and the meat was so tender and flavorful. They also had a 3 course pre-fixe option that was very reasonable.

We were wandering around Soho and looking for a place to eat on a Tuesday evening. Nobody in our group was feeling necessarily decisive, and we took turns suggesting and dismissing food ideas. Oh, and also, we were drunk. Someone in the group had to pee, so we stopped in a pub and had some more beer. I asked the bartender to suggest a place within stumbling distance that was good, and he pointed us towards Côte. When we arrived, I thought it would be mediocre, mass-prepared type of food. Like a TGI Friday’s of French food or something. The meal was a lot better than I thought it would be. All of our dishes were delicious and well-prepared, the calamari was some of the best I’ve ever had, the mushroom dishes(namely the poulet grille and mushroom feuillete) were divine. For the price and in that part of town, finding a good food spot that you can get into without booking a table is a nice bonus. It was not ZOMG the best meal ever, but it was solidly delicious and we all felt comfortable and happy. The end.

Besser geht’s nicht. Perfektes Service, angenehmes Ambiente, hervorragende Qualität der Speisen. Das war sicher eines der besten Steaks, die ich jemals gegessen habe, die Weinempfehlung war treffend und das Mousse im Nachgang, verbunden mit — man muss es nochmal erwähnen — perfektem Service(kein bischen zu aufdringlich, freundlich, bemüht, flott) machte das Dinner zum schönsten Abend in London.
